• Pavilion dv7-1285dx option upgrade RAM / dual channel question

  Hello.  I had a few questions on my laptop dv7-1285dx I bought last January.  I explore the idea of upgrading the RAM, and I went on the site crucial and pulled these specs.

  It says that my system has 8 GB of memory dual channel max capacity, but from what I read here on these forums double channel really only works when you have 2 identical modules in each slot, right?  Well, my system came at HP with 1 x 4 GB and 1 x 2 GB installed modules standard package.  (I'm running Vista x 64).

  So, if this is the case, this does mean that I'm not running in double track right now and my computer is a drop in performance right out of the factory?

  Another question I have is my stick of memory from Samsung.  Would I be hurt me if I bought just a stick of 4 GB of crucial and kept the other stick of 4 GB of Samsung and used these two together?  Or is it better to use two Samsung or two Crucial sticks identical?  The sticks have to come from the same kit for best performance?   (IE - in the case of the Samsung, I would of course order a single module if I went this route and kept the original I have now).

  If I increase the RAM, is there anything else I need to do in the BIOS to enable function dual channel (if I don't have it right now) other that physically install the sticks?

  Molvitz has clarified a bit. For memory dual channel sticks must first be the same size (2 x 2 GB or 2 x 4 GB for example) and they must be the same speed and latency times. If you shuffle the cards to Flash the same size you will probably but not certainly have dual channel operation. If you put two identical poles, you are also sure that it is possible to be that they will work in dual channel mode. I have not tried to set up a laptop with 2 x 4 gig of RAM sticks and I believe that there could be problems with channel double use, as mentioned, because this product (4 gig laptop RAM sticks) is so new. I can speak from experience wide enough that what I say above applies to 2 x 1 gig and 2 x 2 GB.

• NetBackup, API, MPIO and Fiber Channel Question

  Having a weird drive with a management problem 32-bit Windows 2008 Server NetBackup 7.0.1 - specifically with with LUNS to Windows Server and have see many.  Windows Server has two cards QLE2460, each connected to a separate switch connected to separate controllers that are connected to a CLARiiON.  No PowerPath or multiple paths is used, and I suspect this is the question.

  What is using a similar configuration with PowerPath or other Multipathing up someone?

• UCS FC Port Channel questions

  Hi all

  I tried to connect the FI FC port to the Nexus 5 K. YEW has been configured in host end (VAN) mode, while the N5K has been configured as NPIV switch (NPV core).

  After trying many things, the SAN PortChannel link on both FI and N5K cannot grew up, stuck in the initializing state.

  If the N5K and FI was not grouped in PortChannel, connection set successfully.

  In addition, I found and who issues the FI when running in NPV mode, the trunk cannot be configured as trunk mode on (if configured, so the connection will get stuck in the initialization of State too).

  Attached are the files of configuration on FI and N5K

  Also, I tried to connect the FI to MDS 9222I and had the same problems that connect to N5K.

  Can anyone help?

  Comparation while I connect the Nexus 5 K as NPV switch and MDS 9211i as mode NPIV, the PortChannel SAN and circuits (N5K as TNP) and MDS TF was successfully raise.

• InfiniTV of ceton CableCard and Windows Media Center issues

  DEll computer - Intel Core i5 - 2500 K CPU @ 3.30 GHz; Windows 7 Ultimate/SP 1; GIGABYTE GV-R687OC-1GD video card installed. Monitor Dell 2407; WMC; Ceton InfiniTV PCLe.  Cable has been verified to the strength of the signal; Ceton diagnoses reveal cablecard detected; validated; Authorization CP has received and the use of the "premium" channels Question: Sometimes an error message appears indicating that my display or video card is not HDCP or no service for that channel.  When I tune a HD channel and either of these two messages, I minimize the WMC screen and then blow it up and the channel is tuned.  This does not work for strings.  Sometimes I'm not able to fix anything until I have reinstall through WMC, once again the Ceton Tuner.  And then, if I am able to do all my channels, I lose them again once I left WMC and enter it again.  I never know if I'll be able to show the programs or not.  Any ideas?

• Circular polarizing artifacts

  Is there a fix for concentric artifacts in the sky photos portion where a circular polarizer has been used?  Thanks for your help?

  I don't know if it's a problem of polarizing filter as well as a noisy blue channel question. the blue layer has the most noise, and when you add the filter, it makes the darker blues and increased noise and the variation in the sky. Check-in jpg format then creates artifacts jpg - even more with the darkness and the variation in the blue sky.

  Since channel is hidden its value will not be passed. One last thing:

  I read on OTN a few days back that when you navigate report summary report drilled then it will pass all the values of the columns to the left of this column. Please try to rearrange your columns and give it a try.

• Question: BDP-S570 or BX57 internet multi-channel flow?

  Hi all, I noticed recently that when I listen to the audio or video content on the network as my BDP-S570 diffuse now as a multichannel surround sound instead of the 2 stereo channels.
  I don't know if this is caused by the latest firmware I installed or changed content providers (or the Sony Server site) in a recent past a few days to send their audio in 5.1 multichannel, now. Or finally if my BDP-S570 went buggy and it's stuck in the PCM multi-channel streaming mode.
  It broadcasts my network all music and video internet connections in multichannel sound, even if I put the BDP-S570 "Downmix" mode setting of stereo 2 channels. I swear before I made this latest firmware update, I always had that 2-channel stereo audio from the internet network connections.
  So I need to know and ask if someone else becomes sound mode of 5.1 channels of their Internet stream?

  Update: too bad people, I found my answer. The cause of constantly multichannel PCM streaming of all my network connections was because I had the BDP-S570 DTS parameter defined on ' Neo: 6 Music ' instead of 'Off' in the settings menu. I set this to "off" and all the music from the internet is now back to regular 2-channel flows. for info. case solved.

  The problem is that I am so some weird futuristic timestamps in a channel

  Hi Katharina,

  What happens when you drag your tiara BROWSER or Windows Explorer data files in the data portal?  See all date/time values in a table in VIEW of this channel?  The problem may be that you do not have a use but which properly load your data files.  The example is designed to show you how to concatenate several files of data together, but assumes that you could provide / have your own use.  If you use work already, then look for these lines to the top of the VBScript and substituting the name of your use "CSV".  If your files have a file extension different "*.csv", then you must also change the line "FileExt '.

  FileExt  = ' CSV files, *.» CSV »  ' « *. DAT; *. CSV '.
  
  Use = "CSV"  ' "' or 'SpecificDataPluginName '.

• There is a special token that I can put in a column of the CSV file recovery channel which implies approval of the current value?

  Versistand version is 2013 sp1.

  I use stimulus CSV expressions in my sequence in real time and want a channel to keep its value current (last) until a certain time. Is there a way to do this?

  Stimulation CSV file example:

  In this example, chan2 would retain its current value until the timestamp 20.

  Is it possible to implement this feature?

  Thank you! It is a valuable feedback. I can't think of a way to do natively with the functionality of reading CSV for sequences in real time. Some thoughts on how this can be done:

  1. create your own utility to sequences of script based on a CSV file in real-time. Extend the functionality of having a special marker in a cell which designates not only to change the value for the channel as timestep. Do not start from scratch. This tool open source and this one the two script of sequences in real time and stimulation of reading profiles based on data sets (although in different ways).

  2. with the help of software without insertion to the fault of the string value that you want to keep the initial value for the first X seconds of reading the CSV file. For example, you could play another sequence with your CSV file at fault the channel at its current value so that reading CSV does not replace the value.

• Questions with more than 16 channels in daqmx

  I've implemented a .VI (from the pieces of the help on the forum) that I use with the NI USB-6225 to collect and record anywhere voltages 1-30 or more 4-20mA sensors (pressure, linear voltage,... etc.). I tried to implement the .VI to make it user-friendly so that a person could name each channel, as well as to set the duration record and frequency (ie the number of samples).  After the data were recorded, the .VI generates a time-stamped PDM file, a timestamped LVM file as well as a time-stamped LVM file for an average of all voltages on each channel.

  The problem, I noticed that whenever I have more than 16 channels activated, the saved values for channels 17 and higher pressures are wrong.  For example, the output voltages of 1 to 16 channels of a tension of 1.0 to 5.0 (which is expected) and 17-30 channels is negative or very small (0.100 volts).  I know that the NI USB-6225 is working properly because I created a simple .VI which simply uses the DAQ Assistant ouptut 30 channels on a waveform graph and all channels of reading in the range I'm waiting (1.0 to 5.0 volts).

  To me, it seems that there must be something in the DAQmx (as opposed to DAQ Assistant) I use my .VI who questions whenever I try to save more than 16 channels.  I just don't understand enough of labview to understand what may be the cause of this problem and I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction

  As you have not joined in the work programme, it is impossible to tell what you did differently. In this program, you do not specify the configuration of the inputs (simple nerve or diff).

  p.s., The program is bad need of major cleanup. Keep the program to a single screen. Simplify.

• The streaming of multiple channels directly to CSV USB-6210?

  I would like to stream up to 16 channels of data to a CSV file. My sample rate can vary from a file in a file, but I can reach 1 kHz. I understand the disadvantage of using text rather than PDM or binary files, but I have to be able to read these files later with programs such as Excel (Excel 2007 can make 1 million points).

  I have no trouble writing to TDMS files as seems very straighforward. I wonder though, it would be more efficient to use the TDMS files as the data are acquired and then after I stop, read the PDM and convert to CSV or just directly save to CSV? I only say this because I don't know if Labview can broadcast on a text or CSV file at 1 kHz.

  The scenario. The user will begin acquisition (using the USB-6210) to start playback 16 channels, applying multipliers for some data, and then send to a drive. Don't worry about the file size, the operator will be told that if it samples fast it must limit its total sample time. He has the ability to run slower to achieve longer sampling frequencies.
  Bottom line is I want good data for all 16 channels timestamped. No header information, nothing other than data raw beginning to end.

  I've seen several posts where the notice has been using TDMS files. Yet once again, I am not opposed to that, but I need to end up with text files.

  LabVIEW can handle this, if you do it right.

  1. If you are not already, use the design data of producer/consumer model.  It should be a template provided with LabVIEW.  This will allow you to take continuous data because your data treatment/backup of the routines take place in a separate thread.  If the hard data recording longer than reading the data, LabVIEW will keep only the size of the queue more and more with new data and I hope that you will not run out of memory system.

  2 write. you data in "chunks".  If you expect to write each data point to the disk as soon as it is available so that will probably be very tax on performance due to the excessive amount of 'read/write' header to your disk controller information and other things.  It is better to save 1000 samples at once, for example.  This way you are 'hit"your disc 10 times per second instead of 1000 times per second.

  3 ASCII files are very large, but I too tend to use them due to their convienance.  If you think about it, a 32-bit value can be "12332.0123" which in the ascii code is rather 80-bit (1 byte per character, 8 bits per byte, 10 characters is 80 bits or more than twice the amount if stored as a number 32-bit floating point).  It is therefore logical that if you have problems with performance (even after the application of 1 and 2) you write to a binary file.  Then, you can easily write a program that reads the binary file and writes a text file.

  4. If your computer has enough memory, you could put everything in memory and save it in a file at the end of the data collection.  You will need to add more controls and other things if you were writing this LabVIEW application for someone else.

  I am writing a program that uses the Keithley 705 scaner and 580 ohms meter. What I have to do is to create an excel file that contains a timestamp to MM/DD/YYYY HH: mmS as a column, then a new column for each channel (1 to 10 in the case of the keithley 705). Each channel column will contain reading the resistance of this specific at the parking meter channel. The timastamp should do when the first analysis was performed; for example if one scans the channels 1 and 2, their resistance values will be associated with the same timestamp.

  My question is how can I format it as an excel file.

• WMC - Winchester, KY (zip 40391) EPG completely wrong. Missing channels - Rovi question?

  Two weeks ago, that my Motorola tuning adapter did not close on a signal for upstream, so I called TWC and determined the problem to be a signal issue, so they sent a new tuning adapter. I installed Wednesday last and same problem, so I arranged to have TWC out home yesterday. Over the weekend the signal sets itself and I got a lock on the tuning adapter...

  I made the mistake to repeat the TV installation in WMC when the tuning adapter was not working (I didn't know what was the problem at the time) and now I'm missing channels I actually watch. If I understand correctly Novi takes the data from the guide at the beginning of July. My HD Homerun first scanning channels shows all channels correctly that I pay for, however because of the horrible guide from Microsoft for WMC 40391 lack channels such as Discovery HD, DRY, Science-HD Network and much much more channels for Winchester, KY (code postal 40391). I tried to Lexington (40509) which is also served by TWC and although a ton more channels is presented, they are completely incompatible with the TWC to Winchester. For example, the network guide food songs actually channel FX. There are some multiple choice questions for Winchester - analog, digital, digital reconstruction & digital, analog of Richmond Richmond. I tried them all and each of them lack the main channels (for me). How can I get Microsoft to fix their chain and guide information for Winchester, KY 40391? I had changed my HOSTS file to point to localhost, so that I can go through the installation of the TV and make check TWC sends them and they are adjustable, but without a guide WMC is useless as a DVR in all layers of WMC without a guide. I finished repeat Setup with the 'Winchester digital reconstruction', but missing my favorite channels. Help!

  Yes, I went on these documents already. Your name for 'Winchester digital' and 'Digital Winchester rebuild' are completely false for zip code 40391. Fortunately, you have included "Digital Richmond" as an option for the same code zip and 97% of these channel numbers match the correct call signs\programming\guide for channels on my part of Winchester. I guess it's possible that Time Warner Cable provides configurations different channel for different parts of Winchester; Although we are a small town.

  In any case, my problem is now solved by using "Digital Richmond" under zip code 40391. It wasn't easy for me to choose this one in TV in WMC signal configuration, because I do not live in Richmond, KY., but now that I know of to use if I rebuild my system, I shouldn't lose so much time to try all the solutions, I had looked at this time.
