I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to stop the release of my 2nd screen (HDTV, projector not) I will give a presentation on.

I will make a presentation to my class in a week or two. I won't be using PowerPoint for all this. I will be switching between several different programs. I'll have my laptop (with W7) plugged into the TV (screen 2) which will clone my desktop (screen 1). What I'm trying to understand, that is if there is some sort of pause/freeze which is output to the HDTV (screen 2) if the public continues to see what was presented 2 when I stop it. Then once I have install the new program free what's on the TV (screen 2) and it will then it show what I install.

Hello Jracer02,

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft answers community.

(1) you can check on the TV itself, many TVs have an option of gel that can be used to freeze the screen while you are setting up the new program.

(2) you can configure the monitor as a display extended instead of cloning. In this way, you can do your work of implementation on your master slide, and then just the new windows in the second monitor, which would be on tv.

Hope this helps Chris.H
