  I had a similar problem after that reformatting my hard drive and do a clean install Windows 7 and Adobe CS5, even though for me, I was a problem updating the entire suite.

  First, the solution was to update the MAO.  See this thread (in particular the answer by natewinck on August 20, 2014 07:52) for the details of the solution.

  However, I was still having problems to make the PixelBender 2.5 update to install.  It turns out that it is an another known issue that needs a fix installed first.

  I need to install the extension to configure my gfx, scaleform for unreal engine 3. I used the trial flash CS 5 originally, until I got this.

  Problem has been solved by manually installing the extensions Manager CC of the designer Apps Cloud rather than try to update.

  It's the kind of misleading and a bug, I suppose, but there is how it works.

  Just in case you are still interested in a solution, found an easy way to do it. Reset the clock to October 1, 2011 and retry updates. Works like a charm

  I downloaded Pixel Bender toolkit for my mac.  The file is under utilities, but I'm stuck and can't figure out how to get the filters in PS CS5.  I'm frustrated... have tried all I know... and it is very little.  Any help or advice are appreciated.

  I just started to play with Pixel Bender Toolkit.  The documentation notes that if used in AfterEffects, Pixel Bender filters must be able to manage HDR images, and also that pixels are always internally regarded as 32 bits floating, so I assumed, that it would be not a problem to load an image HDR in a format (ideally a 32-bit comma floating one).  However I can't find a way to do it.  Is this possible?

• Pixel Bender Toolkit should have a STOP button

  Pixel Bender Toolkit is easy to use, and I really like it! But when I want to stop a kernel running, I have no option to stop the current kernel, as consequence the current kernel is still running all the time ~ ~ ~ makes me only not so good ~ ~ is there someone who has the same problem as mine?

  See the Preferences menu, there is a checkbox to disable "make inactive." That turn off do the box tool to return only when you move a slider.

  I recently installed Pixel Bender and it worked the first time I started it, but I've since updated my NVidia driver, and now it crashes at startup.

  I tried to change the program setting in the NVidia Control Panel and tried all options of compatibility, but also 16-bit color, but it does that mode 256 colors, as suggested by this old thread:

  mode 256 colors makes it impossible to view any kind of basic shaders so I have to export flash develop at each change.

  Device Manager does no fallback option, and my computer is in dire need this update, I'm stuck.

  To resolve this problem simply change the name of the sniffer_gpu.exe file in the Pixel Bender Toolkit folder to any other without ".exe" for example sniffer_gpu.exe.bak. This will stop this toolkit to get a GPU that can be incompatible with app (see manual for supported GPUS) and forces CPU usage to make images.

  Same thing for hotfix installers, Windows and Mac. These files do not seem to be anywhere else on the net, either.

• Pixel Bender update fails

  Adobe Application Manager ran a week ago and upgrade my Master CS5 Ed 12.0.3 however Pixel Bender Toolkit 2.5 update cannot be installed in AE and Fl Pro. Whenever the Manager runs with an update it will not install PB 2.5. I turned my AV and tried, without success. If I go to AE, PB works without problem. It won't update. I have PB in my collection of Adobe, but it is version 2.1. Any ideas what the problem may be? Should I do a complete reinstall? This is a last option if possible. I tried to download PB 2.5 on PB website but it will not install either. Here is the error:

  The Installer seems to be failing when installing Microsoft_VC90_CRT_x86.msi. According to the guidelines of your msi error error log is 1612, and the following steps can help you in the installation of the update successfully.
