Cursor jumps on T61 even with disabled TouchPad
The cursor on my T61 will suddenly jump to a new place on any page (Word, e-mail, VBA) I'm editing. Sometimes, it's as if an invisible gremlin has turned the wheel of scrolling the mouse, because (according to the application), the screen can jump by the amount it would move by a simple click of the scroll wheel.
I see other posts that the TouchPad can be at fault, but I have as my off completely. It happens that the computer is connected or not anchored and if I use a wired mouse or a wireless mouse. I am running Vista Ultimate and I think that everything is up to date on the machine. The problem started about a month or two ago.
Any ideas? Thank you!
Update... Thanks again, Andy. The jumping seems to be stopped! What a pleasure.

Update Flash keeps appearing even with disabled updates
We have a remote desktop Services environment, and we have disabled the Flash update in Control Panel. This is done by a CPL (FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl) we have at the time of installation.
The box "never check for updates is selected.»
We have also deployed mms.cfg with the following content:
AutoUpdateDisable = 1
AutoUpdateInterval = 0
However, users always receive a notification of update. It started with 15 Flash. How can we configure Flash that he actually honors the settings of Control Panel?
Hi mbovet-rzg,.
We had a bug where, on some systems, users continued to get the update of the notification, even if updates were disabled. This bug has been fixed in a newer version of the Flash Player than what is currently installed on the system (15.0.0.189 according to your screenshot). 15.0.0.189 is old enough and we have published many patches of security since then. Please install the last vesrion, 17.0.0.134. It has not only the fix for the behavior you observe, but it contains also later that 15.0.0.189 is vulnerable to security patches.
In addition, there is no need to 'move' the FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl from one system to the other. All that is necessary is to disable AutoUpdate updates via the mms.cfg file, which tells you that you do.

All webpages to load slow and jerky. Same with the video. I tried refreshing FFox, disable all add-ons and uninstalling/reinstalling. None of this has worked. Then I tried safe mode and it worked: pages loaded normally. My OS is Windows 7 Professional. I used FFox for many years, but it is not usable with my current problem.
Thank you!!
Hi aaltman,
Other people had the same problem before, maybe it's because of the settings in your firefox. Please look for the solution to your problem: -
Satellite A100-165; while typing the cursor jumps to the other place
Hello
When I write with the keyboard sometimes the cursor jumps to another location.
Just this moment, he jumped at the entrance of 'topic' of wire.
It's pretty random where he jumps but very annoying, I'm running a Toshiba satellite a100 165;Anyone got any ideas of what this could be?
Hello
I had the same problem
I t has not noticed that I touched the surface of touchpad accidentally while typing.
This is the reason why the cursor jumped. You can disable the touch pad using the FN + F9 key combination
In addition the BIOS update would also be desirable.
Good bye

Cursor jumps. The last time has solved this problem by disabling the touchpad, but don't remember how to do
Hello
On each laptop Toshiba touchpad can be disabled on two different ways. First is using the FN + F9 key combination or DISABLE option in the properties of the mouse.
Follow the steps below and check if that helps.
To turn off the touchpad tapping feature:
1. click on start.
2. go in Control Panel.
3. in the find what box, type mouse, and then click mouse.
4. change the settings according to your needs.
For more details on the settings of the mouse, follow the link.

I have problems with the cursor jumping around when I type, especially on facebook.
When I type, the cursor jumps around. Most of the time he'll be back in the part I typed before. And for some reason, he does it almost everytime I type in the word you. I have run virus scans and she always does. Any suggestions?
By chance, your computer is a laptop or netbook?
I found that when typing, my wrist is sometimes contact with the touchpad causing the cursor to jump on. Something specific on how you type 'you' might make your wrist touch the touchpad. If this is your case, there is a program called 'touchfreeze' which disables the touchpad while you type.TouchFreeze: <> http://code.google.com/p/touchfreeze/ >

I have a problem with the cursor jumps on the computer.
Original title: cursor jumps
This seems to be a common problem...
I have a new Windows 7, but the cursor has a mind of your own. He clicks on things when I move the cursor. It will change the view zomming to 200% or 75% - he won't stay at 100%. It also captures the scroll button IE on IE - a small book in the edge of the slider and the window jumps to the top of the scroll key, and then down. He won't hold still.
I tried several fixes, and nothing seems to work. I really hope that Microsoft will fix this problem.
Thank you.
Joyce

Use the system for some time, and if the problem no longer - it's just you touching the touchpad with various parts of the hand/arm yout while using the system.

When scrolling down using the touchpad, the cursor jumps to the back arrow
Hi, could someone tell me why when I use my touchpad, I move the cursor over the arrow down to scroll down and sometimes the cursor jumps on the back button on the screen and goes back one screen and I lose what I'm getting?
Thank you. I understand. I went to the mouse and then to the touchpad device settings and I was able to change. They were called corner buttons. They function as shortcuts to different things on each corner of the touchpad. I disabled it.

I use Microsoft 7 and the cursor keeps jumping when I type. This causes the text to be misplaced. Some answers I've seen only direct you to the hardware options but never directly any specific solution. Grateful for ideas?

Thanks to join Microsoft Community where you will find all the required information on the Windows operating systems!
The problem may occur due to the speed of the pointer mouse inappropriate or if the sensitivity of the touchpad is too high.

When you type, the cursor jumps around. How can I correct this situation?
When you type, the cursor jumps around. How can I correct this situation?
It is a very common problem when users become familiar with a new laptop. Either your palm/wrist/cuff/bracelet is touching the touchpad as you type or the touch pad sensitivity is set too high and reacts to strong strikes.- Someone to watch you while you type to see if you accidentally touch touchpad of the notebook.
- Go to the control panel mouse configuration and reduce the sensitivity of the touchpad.
- Make sure you use the latest version of the driver from the manufacturer of the laptop for the touchpad and update if a new becomes available.
- Disable the touchpad entirely in favor of a wireless laptop mouse.
As noted previously, this is a very common problem and users are usually completely unaware they do even when it is pointed out to them. -
My Dell Inspiron 1545 has been a gift for my wife (underlining is not intentional) Microsoft and Dell are trademarks and I wanted to get its value and let him write the book that she has always wanted. Guess what the cursor jumps around and she can barely get in a sentence before the cursor starts moving "Mexico" in the South, North, West, etc. Dell cannot or will not help us. Microsoft is a carousel of downloads, patches, go to the manufactor and everything, it's my fault somehow.

My wife is a RN nurse, my son's Georgia / OCS army prepares for Afghanistan (worked in the Pentagon during 911) and I put my years at AT & T and we often went the extra mile with plug for a penny. Microsoft please will you help us? We will use all day every day.
Always your friend
TabregoTabrego,
I know how frustrating it is for you and your wife and I did a lot of research on this question for you. However, I can't find anything definitive as every person who has experienced this problem seems to have a different difficulty for him. I read all the forums online and in most cases, the cause is that the person typing is the brushing accidentally their wrist, hand or fingers across the touchpad which moves the cursor to be moved to another location on the screen. That being said, there are a few things you can try, if you have not already. One, try changing some of the system settings for your mouse cursor:
Click Start, Control Panel, mouse, to bring up the properties of the mouse.
Select the pointer Options tab and make sure that these boxes are ticked: improve the accuracy of the pointer, display pointer trails and hide the pointer while typing. You must also try to remove and reinstall the driver for your mouse if you have not done.
If you use an external mouse and that you are not using the touchpad on the laptop, you can disable the touchpad in order to not accidentally tab that moves the cursor. If you use the touchpad, you can always disable tapping when typing, that solved the problem for many people.
Let us know if this can help, or if you still need help. We want to help you solve this problem.
Thank you
