Customer database Oracle 64-bit issue with peopletools Installation 8.52

Hello
I installed peopletools 8.52.i has seen somewhere as client 32-bit oracle only support and it will just work. Can someone help me why is it so or can be iitself 64-bit. If its possible, what parameters it takes to have the 64-bit database client.

Thanks in advance.

On Windows server, applications and batch need an Oracle 32-bit client servers. Period. Nothing more to add. Or wait 8.53 PTools which will be a 64-bit real even application for the customer as appDesigner and DMS.

    Hello

I really hope you can help me with this.

I have a machine with Ubuntu installed Server and Oracle 10 g 10.2.1.0 database Express, currently I had some security because of a spam bot problems and some zombie running process on my server, I already closed all ports which are not very necessary.

After doing a Scan of Nessus, the results were a lot of patches Oracle are needed, after some research, I discovered that it takes a CSI.

My question is this, is there an alternative to the installation of this paches? As the upgrade to 11g maybe would solve my problem?

Thank you very much in advance.

    Gustavo.

If you are concerned about potential security issues, you can consider getting a paid license and support - not available/possible services with XE.

That said, 11.2 XE is likely to have another set of bugs, but as is 11.2.0.2 version that is not a basic version it might be beneficial. You just need to install it and try it! (Note: there is no way to upgrade with XE, AFAIK)

  • HP LaserJet M1217 Wireless Installation on HPG60 Windows 7 64-bit issues with no error message.

I tried to install a new HP LaserJet M1217 with a wireless connection to my PC (HP G60 with operating system Windows 7 64-bit).  I spent many hours trying to a simple task.  I have not in all instructions and options slowly and kept my concentration without success.  I have the method wireless attempt, the method of USB, the method of attached CD-Rom and downloaded from the HP website.  Always without success.

I followed the instructions of troubleshooting and always without success.

I currently have a HP LaserJet P1102's wireless installed.  It works perfectly.  I have a wireless HP7280 all-in-one printer installed prior to my purchase of a new M1217.  I uninstalled the software of HP7280 before my attempt to install the new M1217.

I don't have any type of error except the computer would stop downloading for all options except the web download procedure.  The web left me hanging with no next steps after being downloaded.

I'm exahusted after several hours of attempted an installation.  I can get the M1217 print when it is attached to my PC via the USB port.  How can I get to print and scan wireless?

Thanks for your suggestion.  I had already downloaded the PDF file and followed the instructions without success.

I received a diagnosis of the HP media card and I was able to complete the installation.

  • Version database Oracle 64-bit on 32 bit Vista/XP (10.2.0.3)

    Hello

The mentioned combination is possible, all references point to 32-bit Oracle DB or 32-bit systems.
Could someone comment on and provide references to any material,

    Thank you

    Kind regards
    Ashish Roy.

You can install 32-bit on a 64 bit system, but you will not get the benefits of the 64-bit processor.

  • TimesTen issue with the chain of connection on a 64 bit system

    Hello dear members,
I need to write in vbscript code that creates a connection to the server Oracle timesten.
The TimesTen database is located on a unix server, and the client application is on windows server.

    This is my code:

    Set mCnTT = CreateObject ("ADODB.connection")
    mCnTT.ConnectionString = "Provider = MSDASQL.1; DSN =" & TT_DSN & ';' & 'TTC_SERVER =' & TT_SERVER & ';' & 'TTC_SERVER_DSN =' & TT_SERVER_DSN & ';' & UID = "& TT_UID &";"&"PWD ="& TT_PWD & ';'.
    mCnTT.Open

When he ran for 64-bit application will work fine. (I tried it on a stand alone vbscript)

My problem is that I need this code runs on a Server 64-bit system, BUT from a 32-bit application (QTP)
and I get the following error:
"[Microsoft] [ODBC Driver Manager] driver name not found and no data Source specified default.

no idea how to build a connection string that works? Maybe use a differnet provider?

    MSDAORA provider supports timesten?

any suggestions will be most welcome!
    Thank you

If you will be running a 32-bit application on 64-bit connection to TimesTen 64-bit Windows on a Unix server. is that correct? Assuming it is, you must:

1 install TimesTen 32-bit Windows client rather than the Windows 64-bit TimesTen customer (a TT 32-bit client will work with a 64-server VT fine)

2 use the 32-bit ODBC Administrator to configure the DSN rather than the 64-bit default cmdlet

    (2) is particularly important. DDNs ODBC 32-bit and 64-bit are held in completely different places in the Windows registry. 32-bit applications cannot see/use 64-bit DSN and vice versa.

None of this is directly related to TimesTen; It comes to all the standard features of Windows 64-bit and questions.

  • Install Oracle R12.1.1 with database R11.2

    Dear Experts,

When you install Oracle R12.1.1, the database version shipped with it is 11.1.0.7, is if there is a way to install Oracle R12.1.1 with DB R11.2 directly without needing to upgrade DB of 11.1 to 11.2 after installation?

    Kind regards

    Ahmad,

    Hi, Ahmed.

You must manually set the following:

The ORACLE_BASE environment variable must be set accordingly.

The ORACLE_HOME environment variable points to the new 11.2.0 Oracle home.

The PATH environment variable includes $ORACLE_HOME/bin and the directory where the new perl executable is located (usually $ORACLE_HOME/perl/bin).

The LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable includes $ORACLE_HOME/lib.

The $perl5lib environment variable points to the directory where the new perl libraries (usually $ORACLE_HOME/perl/lib / [perl version] and $ORACLE_HOME/perl/lib/site_perl / [perl version])

So, here's what you need to do:

    -Open a new terminal

    -Env variables set as follows:

    $ export ORACLE_BASE =

    $ export ORACLE_HOME =

    $ export PATH = $ORACLE_HOME/bin: $PATH

    $ export LD_LIBRARY_PATH = $ORACLE_HOME/lib

    $ export $perl5lib =

Once you set the env variables, issue "env | ranking"to check.

And, "what sqlplus" should be referred to the $11.2.0.4 ORACLE_HOME/bin/sqlplus

    Thank you

  • database of 32-bit 10g 2 with 40 + GB datafiles

    Hello

I have a LDSM which uses the Oracle 32-bit server. Currently, there are 40 + GB of data files. While listening to the database server, I realized the number of hit > 80 processes leading to deteriorated performance of my COTS product browsing. People have recommended to increase SGA and PGA, it seems preferable.
I was wondering, how many datafiles can a 32-bit database handle? Cause the max memory I can attribute to a 32-bit server is only 4 GB

    Becks says:

I using windows server 2003 standard edition.

Old O/s. Under Windows, Oracle uses the standard Win32 thread model. Instance of Oracle database so all the "processes" (which would be physical process on a Linux/Unix kernel images), will be a thread in the image of the oracle.exe process.

By default of a Win32 thread stack size is 1 MB (depending on the stack size of the Thread (Windows)). I heard the mention oracle.exe process sets the size of the stack to 2 MB.

Whatever it is - each wire means a memory footprint. 80 user (dedicated server) sessions means 160 MB of memory is required (assuming that the 2 MB per thread stack). That's 4% of available RAM.

If memory 32-bit architecture does not fit in this case.

An alternative is to service 80 sessions of user using (for example) 10 shared server process. These 10 sons of reduce memory footprint. However, can only run 10 simultaneous clients both requests. Fine for 80 customers, sending small applications (OLTP) - issues for 80 customers delivering complex applications (of type OLAP).

Why using 32-bit, that is the question that I asked, but this server have been around for a few years, so don't know is not the exact reason.

You should also ask why Windows? And why not Linux?

Personal experience - Linux is not much cheaper ito TCO, it is also a database of very robust sever o/s for Oracle.

  • Interview with slow and fast 32 bit Oracle series control in oracle 64-bit.

    Hello
    I need help.
    I have a machine with Windows with Oracle 10.2.0.4 32 bits (DB - A)
And a machine with 64 bit HPUNIX with Oracle 10.2.0.4 (DB - B)

A query that I run on DB series - has in 140 mili sec

And the same query on DB - B takes 10 Sec.

The delay on DB - B is the only sort Index which is used to sort the data in ascending order. (DB - A uses this same index if present)

Now I just googled around, I got some suspicion as "being 64-bit has more sorting area optimizer Oracle 32-bit choose from uses the index" is this true?

    Waiting for your response.

Except for the fact that the tables listed in the two execution plans are totally different, I can see that the two database have a different place (ALL_ROWS vs FIRST_ROWS) optimizer.

In addition, there is a big difference in the number of rows processed every step of execution.

  • Decommissioning of enterprise database Oracle 11 g in Standard Oracle 11 g with respect to licensing?

    Hello

I was wondering if we can get off our 11g EE licenses licenses SE g 11, considering has focused on making licenses and provided RAC (Real Application Cluster) free option for clusters with up to 4 outlets.

This question is purely in terms of licensing of database Oracle.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

Yes that's the problem in EE rac is an additional option instead of CARS data use guardto DR solution.SE and EE are two different products and I know licenses are not exchangeable

Compatible Linux RHEL (Linux Red Hat Enterprise Server 6.7) for oracle database 11.2.0.4 with grid Infrastructure.

    Hi all

We plan to patch Linux Redhat Enterprise Server (6.4 and 6.5) to 6.7.

I tried Searchin' on support of oracle for the compatibility of the database for Linux patches, but not able to find accurate information.

If OS RHEL 6 update 4 to 6-7 update patch

  • Connectivity issues with 11g Express Edition on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

    Hello

I uninstalled my version 10g Express Edition and proceeded with the installation of the 11g version.  I can connect to sqlplus, but when I try to open the web application in DB (apex), I can not.

The clsc.log file contains the following error:

Oracle Database 11g Clusterware Release 11.2.0.2.0 - Production Copyright 1996, 2010 Oracle. All rights reserved.

    2015-01-08 - 19:55:52.286: [41100] [default] ut_read_reg:2:ocr SOFTWARE\Oracle\olr registry key cannot be opened. error 2

I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice with the same results.  Everyone knows what is happening?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

This kind of things ODE was a Kipper.  The problem was that installation configures the listener with the domain name in the HOST, but the URL for the IP address of the apex uses localhost.  I changed the listener HOST localhost, rebooted, and now all is well

  • APEX dynamic Action issue with custom button template

A new day and a new problem. -.-

I wanted to create a dynamic action, if a button is clicked and got the error "the selected button uses a 'button model' which does not contain the #BUTTON_ID substitution string #. So I googled a bit und found issue with action Dynamics apex. I thought that this would solve my problem and I looked in the model button to find this:

    <table class="t15Button" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0"  summary=""><tr>
    <td class="t15L"><img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#themes/theme_15/button-l.gif" alt="" /></td>
    <td class="t15C"><a href="#LINK#">#LABEL#</a></td>
    <td class="t15R"><img src="#IMAGE_PREFIX#themes/theme_15/button-r.gif" alt="" /></td>
    </tr></table>

A former colleague created the model itself and I do not know where to insert the #BUTTON_ID #. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Concerning

    Chris

    Miss you atrribute button ID,

    is the correct code

    I hope this works.

  • EPM 11.1.2.3 issue with rehosting of the Shared Services database

    Hi all

We installed the EMP 11.1.2.3 on a distributed environment using the QA database. Now, we have restored the database to a Production database.

In accordance with the procedure, we removed "reg.properties" of EPM_Oracle_Instance/config/foundation/11.1.2.0 and tried to start the Configurator EPM both

    (1) EPM_ORACLE_INSTANCE\bin

    (2) EPM_ORACLE_HOME\common\config\11.1.2.0.

But, the database "set up" for Hyperion Foundation is grayed out in the two cases, and we are not able to release it to the users.

I ask you to help us please.

    Thanks for your help.

    Best regards

    Jayant sami

    Hi John,.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried forceRegistry as the last option.

But, I realized that now reg.properties is recorded in 2 places in EMP 11.1.2.3.

    (1) EPM_Oracle_Instance/config/foundation/11.1.2.0

    (2) EPM_ORACLE_HOME/User_Projects/config/foundation/11.1.2.0

And to rehost the SSP database, reg.properties should be deleted both sites.

I hope that Oracle will correct their documentation. In their EMP 11.1.2.3 deployment guide options, reg.properties is not mentioned at all.

    Best regards

    Jayant sami
