  .Mdb and .ldb file extensions are used by the Microsoft Access database program. .mdb is a .ldb file is a lock file. You may be able to consult the data base with Access runtime, downloadable here:

  I suggest try Windows Fax and Scan (Control Panel / devices and printers / Fax) to see if it does what you need.  It allows to send and receive faxes without a fax machine.  When you click fax it will open and give you instructions on how to configure the application.

  Seriously, my best advice when dealing with a used computer is to wipe the system settings of the factory and to start with something that you can call your own. You do not know to what extent the configuration of the machine has been "customized" and the large number of duplicate files is indicative of problems in the system.

  Prior to the relocation of factory default, you can use a free program like BelArc Advisor or SiSoft Sandra on the computer. Each of these lists several factors of the computer configuration, including software installed and associated with product keys. If you're feeling particularly playful mood, Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder is another option. A case like this can be valuable during a clean installation.

That works, but it makes the parent component inflated by a code that is actually in the context menu, and then must duplicate code on any screen requiring this popup. And there are dozens of these popups on every screen. What are my options? I need basically initialize a child window (have the busy ComboBoxes) no matter how many times the user opens and closes. I use TitleWindows to these popups for the moment. Thanks for all the ideas.

  We went with the concept of "list manager", by creating a class that encapsulates all the data required by each ComboBox in the system recoveries.   Yes, you will need to purchase a full version of Windows 7.

  You can go two routes:

  1. a full OEM version that will be good for this PC

  It will cost you less than a full retail version, but once again, once you install it on that PC you will not be able to transfer.

  2. a commercial version that you can remove from this PC and transfer it to any other PC you want.

  W7 Home Premium will be less expensive than W7 Pro or Ultimate for OEM versions complete or full retail.
