Damaged file - swatch problem?

I'm working on a map of board game showing aerial view of a city. For various reasons, I use different shades for each corner of the roof of the building - the same model basis, but dark for opposite the sun roofs, lighter for those facing towards the Sun, etc. (Yes, I can do something like this using a single nuance and superimposing different levels of gray on top fill) (by a multiplication or Darken blend mode but IMO, CMYK blending modes doesn't look as good the RGB modes made in Gimp, it's what I use).

That's why, when I draw a building, I put down the building "skeleton" and apply different shades to each side of the roof, then I rotate the building to its correct orientation.

Unfortunately, even if Illustrator saves these files very well, they open not so well. I get errors like this:

Capture.PNG

Where "light textured Tannish brick" (No 2) is one of my color chart.

I used the advice on this web page (https://daxxter.wordpress.com/2009/04/16/how-to-recover-a-corrupted-illustrator-ai-file) to retrieve the file, but the problem continues to be and I can't continue to work in this way.

It seems that when I apply a shade and then turn it in the context of the rotation of its building in position, Illustrator creates a new shade and adds it to the Swatch Group. Because I re - uses the same set of basic color chart, Illustrator keeps renaming with < name of Swatch > #, where # is 2, 3, 4, etc. Apparently it finally becomes a problem, perhaps?

Any help or advice there? I put a lot of time in this process, and I would not give up because Illustrator can't handle a lot of nuances rotated.

I use Illustrator 18.0, I think. This is normal - I don't like being on the cutting edge of improvements to Illustrator. However, if the problem has been resolved in one of the latest releases, it would be worth grin me and update.

Thank you

Tom

Tom,

Being a recurring/coherent file corruption problem, I think this is one for our friends at Adobe staff in the design review team.

I just tried to draw attention to our product support Manager.

Hello.  I am running Windows XP, SP2.  Until today, I had MS Network Framework 3.5 SP1 and 1.1 is installed, but due to problems with the download of update 1.1, I deleted 1.1 to reinstall a working version but I wonder if I still need 1.1, since I'm already running 3.5 SP 1?

Also, I have a damaged ActiveX file in my Windows/Downloaded Programs directory named, {E2883E8F-472F-4FB0-9522-AC9BF37916A7} files that it references seem to be missing and it is damaged, but I can't remove it from my laptop, using all the utilities to Delete, cut or cleaning included with Vista.  What can I do about it?

    Hi Dean Erickson,

You can install .net Framework 1.1 only if prompted by windows updates. Windows updates will decide if your computer requires 1.1. You should not install .net 1.1, unless you are invited to.

You cannot delete ActiveX controls that you have downloaded and installed. You cannot delete ActiveX controls were pre-installed or modules of any kind, but you can disable the. To delete an ActiveX control that you have installed, use the add-on Manager. If the add-on cannot be removed in Add-on Manager, you might be able to uninstall it through the control panel.

To delete ActiveX controls you have installed Internet Explorer 7

    1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking on the Start button and then about Internet Explorer.
    2. Click Tools , point to Manage Add-ons, and then click enable or disable add-ons.
    3. In the Show list, click downloaded ActiveX controls to display all ActiveX controls.
    4. Click the ActiveX control, you want to disable, and then click Remove.
    5. Repeat step 4 for each module you want to disable. When you are finished, click OK.

  • Creative cloud produces a problem with missing or damaged files

We are facing this problem often in all systems. a lot of work waiting because of this problem... Willing to take this question as long as need very urgent to recover.

No one can tell you anything without the proper system or other technical details info. You did not even provide exact errors or tell us what programs are affected. That said, the question is quite probably simply your configuration - insufficient user privileges, permissions restrictive files, hardware problems, and that sort of thing. It's nothing that adobe could fix it for you.

    Hey Kevin,

You will need to run the command above in the elevated command prompt.

Refer to this step help: How to run a command with elevated privileges?

After you run the command of high fashion, you should get the message, "" DLLRegisterServer in wmp.dll managed."

Also, you can run the method 2 regardless of the success or failure of the method 1. Please try these methods first and see how it goes.

Normally, it is appropriate to fix this problem by running SFC scan and you would not need to copy the file.

  • Error message on my Vista computer: missing or damaged file: C:/windows/system32/drivers/ATAPI.sys. (Status: OXC0000098). NO RECOVERY DISK! (lost).

Missing or damaged file: C:/windows/system32/drivers/ATAPI.sys. (Status: OXC0000098). NO RECOVERY DISK! (lost). How can I recover my system, if possible? It does not even start.

Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.

If the system restore does not work, do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  The Startup Repair tool can repair atapt.sys.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not work, try to start in safe mode (click on the F8 key during startup and go into safe mode with network - or using the prompt from the disk, if necessary, several times).  Then we will check some of your system files:

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator (skip thiis step if you use the disk)...

Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run.  It will scan and try to correct some of your system files.  If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228.  In a best-case scenario, he'll fix Atapi.sys.

While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  It will scan and try to solve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a cause.

If it does not, then thanks for posting any repetitive error message in Event Viewer on startup (Start / Control Panel / administrative tools / event viewer - type eventvwr and enter, if do it from the command prompt).  Here's how to use Event Viewer: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic40108.html.

I hope this helps.  Post back the results of the analysis and attempts to repair if these do not work.

  • Could not complete your request because of a TIFF file analysis problem.

I use Photoshop 2015.1.2 Relese on a Mac El Capitan 10.11.3 version

  • Major file Corruption problem...

Last week, I suddenly have a file corruption problem that's what I'm trying to destroy. He showed all first to the top when I converted a 16-bit file to 8-bit, but it's now the case if I add a layer and apply the high pass filter or add some details of shadow & Highlight, then the layers started almost "dissolve" and become more transparent... or they take on transparency of block type. I enclose some photos that show the sort of thing that happens...

It's a fairly simple picture with 5 layers of distinct images. When I added a layer and applied the high pass, he corrupted the background layer to give me this...

    corrupt.jpg

You can see that the icon in the Palace of layers shows clearly the corrupt background layer. There is also a little showing on the icon layer to Hi...

    ScreenShot_corrupt.png

Next is a much bigger (almost 2 GB) file with tons of layers that went well...

    ScreenShot_alllayers.png

.. but when the high pass layer is isolated you can discern the corruption...

    ScreenShot_highpass.png

Shortly after taking these screenshots, the rest of the layers that everything has been corrupted and all layer mask icons were checkered with rasterized transparency. Remove the affected layers and adding them back in did not help... they would just get corrupted again. Remove the damaged layers, saving the rest of file and quit smoking did not help... to open the file again and trying to add layers back would result in still more corruption. I found some success from scratch, do one or two things, save, and then quit Photoshop. Then I would duplicate the file, reopen Photoshop and do one or two things, save again, and then quit Photoshop again... repeat 100 times! Not exactly a workflow, I can live with...

And the really messed thing, is that this is happening with CS6 and the CC version. I'm working on a MacPro 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 24 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC, card ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 on OS X 10.8.5 MB

Any help will be welcomed with much praise!

    BT

We'll see if it's a problem of preferences. It is very common, yet easy to fix. Use you especially when Photoshop is upward and you know that you do not alter your installation or settings.

Hold cmd-opt-shift and run Photoshop. You will see a dialog box 'delete settings '. Answer 'Yes' and allow Photoshop to continue loading.

Let's see if that fix it.

I created a Captivate 3 file and tried to open it just a normal folder, she was the icon 3 Cp beside him. Captivate 2 tried to open it, which has corrupted the file. Now when I try to open it from Captivate 3, it indicates that the file is damaged. Is it possible to recover the damaged file?

< captivate 1 and 2 are always on our system, because we have many projects that would not be the time to convert the most recent version. I've never had a problem with the transition between Captivate 1 and 2. >

    Thanks for your help,

    Matt

    Hi Matt

The first thing I would try is to simply restart the PC. Assuming that the file still hesitates and refuses to open, the next thing I would try is to create a new empty file of the same size. Then click file > import > slides/objects and see if you can get them in this way.

Good luck to you in the sort it... Rick

  • Windows® XP file Association problems? Copyright 2003 - Doug Knox? his files work?

Windows® XP file Association problems? Copyright 2003 - Doug Knox? his files work?

It is wrong to go all that is your problem.

I have instructions to run the Doug Knox fix as a copy/paste of my notes, I'll never have to type it once again, which means that (at least for the EXE usual file association problem), I like to use, but we don't know what your question is.  In fact, the majority of the stuff I answer here is just a copy and paste, I have fixed some things so many times...

Here's what I have copy and paste about afflicted EXE file associations:

Looks like your Windows file associations have to dispose. This means that XP doesn't know what to do with files by looking at the file extension (.exe for executables)., .doc for MS documents, etc.

If you don't have it you, something done for you - most likely malware.

Go to this site WWW by Doug Knox:

    http://www.dougknox.com/

On the left, click on the Win XP fixes, file Association fixed and read the instructions at the top of the page.

Download the EXE File Association Fix on your desktop, unzip the file and apply it by following the instructions at the top of the page, then to restart and test.

Run the following scans for malware, and then fix any problems:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

They can be uninstalled later if you wish.
