    Hey Kevin,

You will need to run the command above in the elevated command prompt.

Refer to this step help: How to run a command with elevated privileges?

After you run the command of high fashion, you should get the message, "" DLLRegisterServer in wmp.dll managed."

Also, you can run the method 2 regardless of the success or failure of the method 1. Please try these methods first and see how it goes.

Normally, it is appropriate to fix this problem by running SFC scan and you would not need to copy the file.

  • Error message on my Vista computer: missing or damaged file: C:/windows/system32/drivers/ATAPI.sys. (Status: OXC0000098). NO RECOVERY DISK! (lost).

Missing or damaged file: C:/windows/system32/drivers/ATAPI.sys. (Status: OXC0000098). NO RECOVERY DISK! (lost). How can I recover my system, if possible? It does not even start.

Do you know when this problem started?  Try a system restore to a point in time BEFORE the problem started.  Here is the procedure: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/.  Don't forget to check the box to show more than 5 days of restore points.  If the first attempt fails, then try an earlier point or two.  NOTE: You will need to re - install any software and updates that you have installed between now and the restore point, but you can use Windows Update for updates.

If the system restore does not work, do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  The Startup Repair tool can repair atapt.sys.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not work, try to start in safe mode (click on the F8 key during startup and go into safe mode with network - or using the prompt from the disk, if necessary, several times).  Then we will check some of your system files:

Go to start / all programs / accessories / command prompt and right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator (skip thiis step if you use the disk)...

Type sfc/scannow, go and let it run.  It will scan and try to correct some of your system files.  If all goes well he comes complete with no corruption, it could not repair (if it has these post of corruption here or try to analyze it to find the problem or files using http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228.  In a best-case scenario, he'll fix Atapi.sys.

While in the command prompt, type chkdsk /f /r and enter and let it run.  It will scan and try to solve any corruption or bad sectors on your hard drive and remove especially as a cause.

If it does not, then thanks for posting any repetitive error message in Event Viewer on startup (Start / Control Panel / administrative tools / event viewer - type eventvwr and enter, if do it from the command prompt).  Here's how to use Event Viewer: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic40108.html.

I hope this helps.  Post back the results of the analysis and attempts to repair if these do not work.

  • Damaged files Adobe Muse site and cannot be opened

    Hello

I designed my first site on Adobe Muse.

However, when I tried to open the file to continue designing, a message popped up saying "damaged files Adobe Muse site and cannot be opened.

I read the previous discussions on the same issue:

-The file is stored on my mac, not synchronized Dropbox or any other software.

-I have not yet published the site.

-My machine did however turn off due to load shedding while the application of the Muse was open (but not the file). Would this have something to do with it?

Is it possible to recover the site?

    Thank you

  • Damaged file Site Muse

I wonder if there is some way I can repair my damaged file of the Muse site.

Please send us the .muse file at [email protected] as well as a link to this topic for the context and we'll take a look inside. If the file is larger than 20 MB, you can use a service like Adobe SendNow, Dropbox, WeTransfer, etc.. Thank you.

  • LR3 unsupported of damaged files

As I went to LR3, I had a lot more files developed as unsupported or damaged.  I am inclined to believe that the LR3, which is damage files. It happens with tiff, psd, cr2 files. All the files, I was able to work with sometime.  Needless to say that I am borderline angry as his summer passes to the files I've worked with recently and that the gods would have it his summer to those who want to buy or publish.  I can't open files in photoshop either after they were damaged.  Someone now why this is happening, or what I can do to prevent it? I'm afraid to use LR3 basically because I'm afraid its going to damage another valuable image...

Sorry, I know almost nothing about power. I know that it is better to keep copies of all your images in archives on a separate physical device (and off site if the images are valuable to you).

Looks like your Drobo is not faithful to its hype.

  • Damaged file... It can be recovered?

I created a Captivate 3 file and tried to open it just a normal folder, she was the icon 3 Cp beside him. Captivate 2 tried to open it, which has corrupted the file. Now when I try to open it from Captivate 3, it indicates that the file is damaged. Is it possible to recover the damaged file?

< captivate 1 and 2 are always on our system, because we have many projects that would not be the time to convert the most recent version. I've never had a problem with the transition between Captivate 1 and 2. >

    Thanks for your help,

    Matt

    Hi Matt

The first thing I would try is to simply restart the PC. Assuming that the file still hesitates and refuses to open, the next thing I would try is to create a new empty file of the same size. Then click file > import > slides/objects and see if you can get them in this way.

Good luck to you in the sort it... Rick
