Data problem whith model number data type

Hi all

Here's a strange thing with the data model of the Editor (Oracle Business Intelligence 11.1.1.7.0 / windows 7 / Firefox).

Create a data set of sql query with this statement "select 1.23 double." The data type of the column is whole and cannot be changed.

So I use the cast function "select cast (1.23 v number (16.2)) double ' and now it's OK the data type is double.

Now add a second line, change the statement like this:

Select cast (1.23 v number (16.2)) double

Union of all the

Select cast (4.56 v number (16.2)) double

If you save the template, and charge it, the type of data has changed in full!

Anyone know why this is happening?

The patch should be applied, but is a temporary solution:

Select cast (d.v number (12,2)) v

de)

Select v 1.23 double

Union of all the

Select 2.34 double v

) d

Thank you

  • problem of data type

    Hello buddies. I'm a newbie to Labview and has started on a project involving communication with a MOS (magnetic orientation sensor)
    Basically, a hexadecimal string is read in and I want to convert it to numbers. I have a problem probably due to the type of data, since when I use "highlighted the execution", everything was fine, until it reaches the part of the division. Precision suddenly changes to 2 significant digits. Also, somehow the data could not be included in the cluster, except integral. (pressure and temperature)

    I'm sure it's because of the type of data, coz those integral is ok. I use double precision, that should be good. Please help me find the solution!

    Thanks in advance! Your help is very appreciated!

    On your front, right click on one of your numbers of 'cluster of exit', then go dpwn of 'Representation '. You have attached the VI has all the numbers as U32 (I think the last one was actually U8). It is an integer. Change what you want to DBL. Then right-click the number once again, go down to "Display Format" to get the decimal fo (or sig figs) number that you want to see. Who's going to do.

  • Data types in the design for the producer consumer model

    Is it possible for me to use any type of data in a model of design producer consumer, without specifying specific data type?

    what I mean is if there is a way to connect to a data type with which I can use any other type of data, not to mention that one that I have connected, and if not, how can I specify the data type for a number or any other data type, for use in a design of producer-consumer model?

    You can make a part of your cluster of data a Variant.  It will take any type of data.  A common architecture for the producer/consumer is a cluster which is an enum and a Variant.  The enum contains all possible "orders", you might want to send.  The variant contains data that could be of any type.

    Ungroup you in the consumer and get the enum and Variant.  Attach the enum to a case structure.  In the specific case, convert the variant type in a data type of regular LabVIEW and with it as you please.

    Hi friends,

    I get this error: ORA-00932: inconsistent data types: expected DATE got the NUMBER to the call of the OIC OCIStmtExecute when I'm putting the filter on the date column condition.

    "Sun Time". " Day' < = cast (MAX ("Sun time" "." ")) Date day")) and"Sun Time ". "' Day ' > = TIMESTAMPADD (SQL_TSI_MONTH,-1, cast (MAX ("Sun time".) "Day") as date). "

    I sank the date max, but if I get the above error. I think max (date) creates the problem.

    Please suggest your opinion on that.

    Thank you.

    Thank you for your suggestions.

    I used the variable, and it helped.

  • Insert the ROWNUM in a column of data type of NUMBER table

    Hello

    I have a table that has a column named "rank" of the NUMBER data type. Basically, I want to make an analysis of top-n and insert the ROWNUM with other columns in the table.

    Definition of table1:

    CREATE TABLE

    (

    col1 VARCHAR2 (10),

    Col2 NUMBER,

    NUMBER of col3,

    rank NUMBER

    );

    INSERT INTO table1

    SELECT col1, col2, col3, rownum

    DE)

    SELECT col1, col2, col3

    FROM table2

    ORDER BY DESC of col3

    )

    WHERE rownum < = 5;

    I get an error ORA-01722: invalid number. I think the mistake is virtual ROWNUM is not data type of NUMBER, so I tried to cast as CAST (ROWNUM AS NUMBER), but it does not work, same error. Can can you please shed some light on how to convert a ROWNUM number or if the issue is something else.

    you're right, your example worked. It is an example of table I just created just to illustrate the problem, but my real table was always showing the same problem. Weird, isn't? However when I added the column names after that insert the question but statement I resolved. Adding code

    INSERT INTO TABLE1

    (col1, col2, col3, rank) - added

    SELECT col1, col2, col3, rownum

    DE)

    SELECT col1, col2, col3

    FROM table2

    ORDER BY DESC of col3

    )

    WHERE rownum<=>

    So that means ROWNUM returns number; and another confusion: why the inclusion of the column has solved my problem when it is not necessary for your example. in any case thank you.

  • Number and types of digital data

    Hello

    My table contains data, it is a very large table, data type of the columns little is just number (no precession or scale not reported). When this table get imported OWB and used in maps, then the display of the size of the column number in the Numeric form with zero as the precision and scale. The source in the mapping table contains the same type of data columns but with precision and scale declared. When I validate the mapping I get ' precision of the column is greater then the column target ' error. "

    I tried to edit the table with the same precision and scale as a source but as data are already existing, throws to oracle cannot reduce the size. I don't want to create another table and generate data and reload as this is a large table.

    Is there a solution for this problem, please help.

  • Question number data type

    Dear all,

    I have the instruction insert statement in my form. Because I'm inserting fields numbers two at a table. These two fields are of the form variables. Those that contain the data type number. In the database, we have datatype as number (14.3) for these fields. These 2 areas containing value according to the 12-digit number.

    Where to insert it showing me an error message such as,
    ORA-01438: value superior to the precision specified for the column.

    Give me advice to solve this problem.

    Thanks in advance,
    Lakshmi.P.

    Hello

    Number (14.3) means 11 digits and 3 decimals. Display the number you are trying to insert. It must be greater than 99,999,999,999
    or maybe, you have a problem with the decimal separator character.

  • Table of functions and direct requests for NUMBER data types database

    Hello. I call a number of functions table of our Enterprise BI server, and I chose to do this by using direct database requests (I believe you can also call functions table in the physical layer of the repository, but is not what I do). The problem is that whenever I go back any number of the table function which is not a whole number (1.23, for example), BI assigns the INTEGER data type to the field rather than the data type DOUBLE, rounded so my number to the nearest integer. Here is a short example:

    Create these 3 database objects:

    CREATE or REPLACE TYPE my_row AS OBJECT (my_num NUMBER);

    CREATE or REPLACE TYPE my_tab AS TABLE OF THE my_row;

    FUNCTION to CREATE or REPLACE my_table_function RETURN my_tab
    PIPELINED IS
    BEGIN
    PIPE ROW (my_row (1.23));
    END;
    /

    Make this your request at your request Direct to database:

    SELECT my_num FROM table (my_table_function);

    This query returns correctly '1.23' when it is called from the database. In BI, on the other hand, it returns a value of '1' (and the field of labels an INTEGER rather than data type DOUBLE). If at the request of data Direct you change column properties-> data-> decimal from 0 to 2 Format, then it displays is not surprising "1.00". I then tried to change MY_ROW. Data type of MY_NUM by explicitly specifying the precision and no luck. BI still labels this field as an INTEGER. Then I started to try to deceive BI massaging the SQL statement itself. None of the following worked:

    SELECT to_number (my_num) as my_num2 FROM table (my_table_function);
    SELECT my_num2 + 0.01 as my_num3 FROM (SELECT my_num - 0.01 AS my_num2 FROM table (my_table_function));
    SELECT to_number (to_char (my_num)) as my_num2 FROM table (my_table_function);
    SELECT to_number (substr (to_char ('x' | my_num), 2)) as my_num2 FROM table (my_table_function);

    Now, I found a solution, but I'm surprised that I have to resort to that:

    SELECT * FROM (SELECT / * + NO_MERGE * / table my_num (my_table_function));

    Is anyone out there knows a better way to do it? The above is a hack in my opinion. :)

    Thanks in advance for any input.

    -Jim

    Yes, it's really amazing.
    But I got it.

    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE my_row AS OBJECT (my_num NUMBER(10,2));

    and in your SQL:

    SELECT cast(my_num as double precision) as my_num2 FROM table(my_table_function);

    I have the good result and I see the numbers after the decimal point.
    Very delicate!

    Greetings,

    I am facing a problem with the CLOB data type. I know that the CLOB data type is 4 GB (I use Oracle 9i). But in the Pl Sql procedure, I can only store 34305 size for a CLOB variable character data.

  • incompatible data types: expected NUMBER got LONG

    Version 3.2.20.09

    Hello

    I use SQL Developer and want to see trigger body using as a function but unfortunately its data type is long so that I get the error message, is there a way by which I can see the bodies of trigger...

    Example query

    TRIGGER_BODY

    SELECT TRIGGER_BODY FROM user_triggers

    WHERE TRIGGER_BODY LIKE '% HEAR. "

    Error

    ORA-00932: inconsistent data types: expected NUMBER got LONG

    00932 00000 - ' incompatible data types: wait %s %s got. "

    * Cause:

    * Action:

    Error on line: column 2: 7

    This isn't a matter of SQL Developer.  Access quick, but partial, the answer is that the display of a LONG column in SQL * more / developer SQL can be done by issuing just one

    1000 long - value (or some other, more)

    You are referencing a LONG in a WHERE clause, however, is absolutely forbidden as I know.  Maybe something new (System invisible columns generated in LONG columns in the data mirrored dictionary?) are available in 12 c, but disapproval of LONG was announced in Oracle 8 in favour of the LOBs.

    Anyway, if you do not want to ask this question in the forum of PL/SQL, see solution code of Laurent Schneider in this old debate...

  • APEX 5 - update collection member number or date type fails

    Hi Experts,

    I use the pl/sql process onDemand (AJAX call). In this block, there is a procedure of apex_collection.update_member_attribute.

    If I call the procedure as below:

    In this example, I've used directly number 50 in NUMBER! to say the apex_collection to set the numeric field only.

    apex_collection.update_member_attribute

                                          p_attr_value           => 50
                                         );

    Here is 'Post' AJAX call settings (in my standard call): x 01-seq_id, x 02 - attr_number, x 03 - attr_value, x 04-value_type (n - number just for my info)

    He C001 ALWAYS updated instead of N001! attribute. In the documentation it is if I use the numeric value (I tried to_number too...) in p_attr_value, it updates attribute number.

    To_number example:

    updated in the character column.

    I'm doing something wrong?

    If I use a few collections with columns C001... C00N - update works. If I use the types of number and the date I can't update correct attribute members.

    The apex_collection.update_member_attribute method is overloaded to handle different attributes and types of attributes. Note that PL/SQL documentation says Overload:

    PL/SQL allows you to overload the nested subprograms, subprograms in package and type methods. You can use the same name for several different subprograms if their formal parameters differ by name, number, order, or data type family... If formal parameters differ only in name, you must use named notation to specify the corresponding actual parameters.

    In this case you use notation named, but the parameter name p_attr_value means the call corresponds to the signature 1 method, which updates a character attribute.

    5 signature with the name of the parameter p_number_value is used to set a number attribute:

    apex_collection.update_member_attribute(
        p_collection_name => 'FUFI_MANAGER_BATCH_PARAMS'
      , p_seq            => APEX_APPLICATION.g_x01
      , p_attr_number    => APEX_APPLICATION.g_x02)
      , p_number_value    => 50);

    Also note that (a little bit counter-intuitive) p_seq is always a VARCHAR2 string.

  • ODI 12 - problem with missing data in the store column data types

    Hello world

    We have recently installed Studio 12 on Oracle RDBMS ODI. We have created some topologies, contexts and the logical architecture. We have created the necessary templates and made reverse engineering. The strange thing is when a model data store opening, we have noticed, the data types of its attributes are not displayed and cannot be selected in the drop-down list because they do not exist yet. You can see the image below.

    Untitled1.jpg

    So the mappings are not correctly executed because on the stage of the creation of work tables CREATE script was not generated correctly. (It's something like "CREATE TABLE < name > ()")

    Anyone can give an idea what could be the reason for this and how might be solved?

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Any URL to reference?

    No - the amount of space takes a NUMERIC value is based ONLY on the actual value you store.

    You can store 20 numbers that don't take no more space than would a number to two digits.

    Do not believe? Then just store values in a column NUMBER then question the values and the values of DUMP (myColumn) out and see how the actual duration and the internal representation. The value '12300000000000' will not take any space more than the value "123" since the number of SIGNIFICANT digits is the same.

    See my response in this thread of the year last for details and sample data.

    See the programmer's Guide of the OIC for details on how MANY values are stored internally.,.

    Oracle database stores the values of the NUMBER data type in a variable length format. The first byte is the exponent and is followed by 1 to 20 mantissa bytes. The high bit of the exponent byte is the sign bit; It is defined for positive numbers, and it is cleared for negative numbers. The lower 7 bits represent the exponent, which is a number of base-100 with an offset of 65.

    To calculate the decimal exponent, add 65 to the exponent of base-100 and add another 128 if the number is positive. If the number is negative, do you the same thing, but eventually the bits are inverted. For example,-5 has an exponent of base-100 = 62 (0x3e). The decimal exponent is therefore (~ 0x3e)-128-65 = 0xc1-128-65 = 193-128-65 = 0.

    Each byte of the mantissa is a base-100 digit, in the 1,100 range. For positive numbers, the digit has 1 added to it. Thus, the number of mantissa for the value 5 is 6. For negative numbers, instead of adding 1, the digit is subtracted from 101. Thus, the digit of the mantissa of the number - 5 is 96 (101-5). Negative numbers have a byte containing 102 appended to the data bytes. However, negative numbers with 20 mantissa bytes do not have byte 102 end. Because the digits of the mantissa is stored in base 100, each byte can represent 2 decimal digits. The mantissa is normalized; zeros are not stored.

    Up to 20 data bytes can represent the mantissa. However, only 19 are guaranteed to be precise. 19 data bytes, each representing a base-100 digit, give a maximum precision of 38 digits for an Oracle NUMBER .

  • Largest number of digits for the NUMBER data type?

    What length more of a NUMBER that Oracle will "support"?

    The documentation says the following:

    Limitations of the data type says:

    «Can be represented in a comprehensive precision 38 digits»

    NUMBER of Data Types says:

    "Oracle guarantees portability of numbers with precision of up to 20 digits of base-100, which equals 39 or 40 decimal digits according to the position of the decimal point."

    I realize account that if I define a column as simply NUMBER, I can insert numbers with a size up to 126 characters.  However, Oracle seems to maintain only the first 40 digits in MOST cases.  The largest number of digits, it seems to allow is 40 before it begins to be replaced by 0.

    With numbers that have more than 40 figures, Oracle will sometimes replace all numbers according to the 38th numbers with a 0 and sometimes replace 0 after the digit 39th or 40th.

    Therefore, what is the largest number of digits, can be trusted to safely store Oracle?

    This is the code I used for this testing process.

    create the table max_num (num number);

    declare

    number of l_x;

    Start

    for x in 1.200

    loop

    l_x: = x;

    insert into max_num values (rpad (1, x, 1));

    end loop;

    exception

    while others then

    dbms_output.put_line ('STOP: ' | l_x);

    dbms_output.put_line (SQLERRM);

    end;

    /

    Select num, length (replace (num, 0)) of max_num;

    What length more of a NUMBER that Oracle will "support"?

    You have already given your own answer. If 'length': the maximum number of digits is written the doc gives you the answer:

    999... (38 9's) x 10 value maximum125

    The 38/39/40, hereinafter referred to as the doc means "significant digits". This is why rounding or truncation occurs if you provide more significant digits of 38/39/40.

    Oracle stores the numbers internally in a binary format 21 bytes using a documented structure in the doc of the OIC in the section 'NUMBER'.

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/AppDev.112/e10646/oci03typ.htm#i423684

The lower 7 bits represent the exponent, which is a number of base-100 with an offset of 65.

    This article from doc continues to show you how to convert the internal format to the real value.

    An additional byte of 1 is used for all types of data to store the length; That's why you often see docs saying numbers can take 22 bytes.
