Data updates to blackBerry Smartphones Software save problems

Hello

So I just have to update my 9360 on what I think is 7.1

After I deleted the unused languages and created the space for it, the phone started a data back up but when he got 15% it just stopped and didn't moved, I left it all night (so about 4hrs) and still nothing, so I turned it off and took out the battery. I put it put it back and the rear market began again, but this time it at 8% and stopped, let him all night but nothing.

Any ideas? Because the phone is unusable until it is finished. Oh and also, I tried to plug it in my computer to updatethrough software, but of course it does not connect

Thank you, Tim

No idea how, but this morning he has completed the update. All sorted! Cheers!

I recently sold my Bold 9700 and then realized that I did not manually copy my Memo Pad data any where before I did a cleanup of the device... I would like to make the backups from the BB Desktop Software. .. can I somehow retrieve these data from memo pad from backups without going through another "BOLD" to restore to?... I have a Curve 8320 old I could throw out there if it will take, and/or I can synchronize with Outlook? (no, it wasn't was not sync would be Outlook in the past, because I normally do not use Outlook)... Some of these memos are really important.

(And sensitive information too, hope they get truly wiped in the erase process.)

  • Problem blackBerry Smartphones Software Update

    Hi all

I have a serious issue here.

I tried to upgrade my software today to ver *. 181 everything was fine except when my phone data had to be restored back (step 10 of 10). Where is my application crashed and I had to reboot my Desktop Manager. But now he don't ask me to restore data, or update anything.

Anyone with a clue that, how can I restore my data that was backed up to my Desktop Manager.

    Thank you

    Ramirez

Search your entire hard disk for files with the extension of the RPI (*.ipd). What are the backup files created by DTM. Choose which is the correct (very probably by the time of the file) and then use it as a source for restoring:

    EmmanuelSmith911 wrote:

It is possible. But if you stay on BES, you cannot remove the it policy... you have to work with your BES admins to solve the problem.

If you are not on BES, you must first check if you have a latent policy on board:

    • Article ID: KB30076 How to check for an it on a BlackBerry smartphone policy

If you have one, then this is the only method to remove:

    • Article ID: KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings

Beware you warnings... it's completely destructive to everything you have on your device now, then you must know how to recover from that after the withdrawal of the policy. If you choose to use the backup/restore as your method of recovery, so make sure you do selective and not wholesale... If you restore databases who say company policy or something similar, then you just put it on your device policy, and be right back where you started.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Software Update

Hai everybody, I'm new as a BlackBerry user. I tried to update my BB of smartphone and pop up see the message your BlackBerry is up to date. But I I have found a new version came out with my site Web de BlackBerry operator.

Should I stay with the current version or upgrade to the new version?

Hello and welcome to the community!

Only you can decide what you should and shouldn't do. As a general rule, it is good to update the operating system more recent available because this would have features, fixes and features not in older versions. If the OTA update does not offer you anything, then you can force it via PC (you can't do this on MAC):

    (1) make sure that you have a current backup and your BB complete... you can find the instructions at the link in my auto-sig below.

    2) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (3) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (4) download and install on your computer, the BB OS package you want:

    • If all you want are the levels of BONE, it is first sorted by carrier - the carrier supports, your search will be fast. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To really get the package up-to-date OS for your BB, you need to dig through and find all businesses that support your specific model BB and then compare the BONE levels they support.

    5) remove all copies of the SELLER on your PC. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

6 (a) to change your level of BB OS installed (at level or lower), you can run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC.

6 (b) or, for recharging your BB OS level installed as well to change, work around the Desktop software and use the CHARGER. EXE directly, through step 2 in this process:

If, during the process of 6a or 6 b, your BB has an error '507', simply unplug the USB of the BB cord and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

Hello and welcome to the community!

If you cannot have the necessary buttons, then you may need to reload your OS again as something could have hurt in the process. If you try the process again, and it does not offer you different levels of OS install, you have to force. The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    Hello

I Keeping getting the following error message when you try to update my software BB on my BB Bold 9900 using MacBook Pro:

BlackBerry® Desktop Software could not validate your update to the BlackBerry® device. Aborting installation because of the failure of the validation. Some unsatisfied dependencies contained package.

My BB Messenger seems to have disappeared, but still is still installed on my phone while I was trying to force an upgrade re your suggestions on some of your other discussions

Just for your information and for others in a similar situation, I managed to fix the problem. Somehow BlackBerry Messenger had been corrupted and could not be uninstalled through the BlackBerry Desktop Software. Don't know if this is a quirk of Mac! However, there is a hidden agenda somewhere Application Manager in the Bold 9900, accessible through the search utility, which he skipped completely allowing a relocation of a clean version of the BB Messenger & removing the problems expressed above.

  • Smartphones blackBerry device software upgrade problem

    Hi all

I have a Blackberry 8310. He was originally AT & T service, but he now has the T-Mobile. It is unlocked and currently leads the software 4.2.2.170.

I'm moving to 4.5. I downloaded the software from T-mobile, here for the 8320. They have no 8310 software, and told me that it shouldn't make a difference:

    http://www.t-mobile.com/bbupgrade/

    I followed the instructions here:

    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/How_do_I_upgrade_the_OS_on_my_BlackBerry%3F

    (I tried method 1 and method 2)

However, it will not install little matter what I do. I even tried using CrackMem.

Get to step 6 of method 2 for example, I'm never invited to install the upgrade. When I look into the application loader on BB Desktop under applications to update or install new applications, the software update is never there.

No idea why the upgrade won't install? Is it because the phone's ex - AT & T?

One last thing - it was originally hooked up to BES and so had a top COMPUTER policy. I wiped by using method 2 here:

    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/Remove_IT_Policy

    Any help would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forums!

One that you said that the software and the model doesn't matter, said you bad.

Well, software loading 8320 in to a 8310 photo an accident of room StarTrek carrier... same results.

Go to the AT & T software download site and get the right device OS for the 8310.

When you go to install it, you need to remove the provider. XML file. This step is listed in your procedure

I have the number of site and the version to download for you at the bottom of the post.

When you start the download of software peripheral BONES of AT & T, save the file to disk, do not run.

When the download is complete, then go to the directory on the PC you have loaded to and run the

self-extracting file. The software will be installed in the directories in the files of the Office Manager

If the application loader will find it.

Follow each step exactly as written now from the first step of the procedure of FAQ.

I had a problem with Roxio Media Manager constantly want to reinstall.  So I corrected this problem and and uninstalled the Blackberry software. Then I tried to re - install Blackberry Desktop software so that I can sync my contacts on my computer at home.  I tried this from a downloaded version 4.6 and with the version on my Blackberry CD.  Same problem with both.

The installation starts and claims of language, then installation starts for a few seconds.  Then I get this message:

Error opening installation log file.  Verify that the specified log file location exists and is writable.

I can't get past this message.  He didn't tell where is the location of the log file.  Other installations of software, it's only the Blackberry software that will not be installed.  I tried to rename CProgram Files\Common InstallShield and make it read/write, but this install always fails with the same message.

Any ideas to try?  Nowhere else can I ask for help?

    Andy

    Thanks, that worked.

I unzipped the file, then I opened a cmd window and manually run msiexec with your Blackberry msi file.  I have added a flag/l to set the log file to a local file FichierJournal.txt and everything went well.

Maybe you specify a problematic log file name, at least for my computer?

Anyway, this new version of the Blackberry software works very well to keep my home contacts updated with my work contacts.  I'm glad that I was able to install without the Roxio media manager.  This program made me mad.
