Database properties.

Gurus,

I just created a planning application, when I check the properties of the database in the console of Regional service, I can see it shows:

Number of existing blocks: 0
Block size: 44K.

If no data is loaded or existing meaning that 44K?

Thank you

-RN

Hi RN,.

Block size does not mean that the size of each block currently existing in the system, this means the block idea based on your dense dimensions in outline size is 44 k.

And when it comes to number of existing blocks, this means that none of the block have been created which means or says that the data is not loaded into your application. Block is created only when the data is loaded and size of each these blocks would be 44 k, if you enter the block system in a single cell would take to complete block of memory.

Block density would give you number of dense combinations have given in each block.

Potential number of blocks would give you a maximum number of block that can be achieved or created through your existing hierarchical structure.

Number of blocks = number of existing blocks of Level0 + number of top level blocks.

Stereo, New York is sparse Dimension and rest are the dense dimension members.

Density block = we have just 1 battery entered the block of the total number of cells.

Total number of cells = 17 * 10 * 3 = 510

Entered cell = 1

Density = (1/510) * 100 = approx. (19.6) rounded up to her, would be. 20%.

Hope this helps, which gives all the details.

Thank you

Amith

    Hi gurus,

Please is - anyone can develop and explain

    Thanks advance...

in terms simple, put in the I/o buffer uses Essbase caches to manage the reads and writes where Direct i/o bypasses the Essbase hiding and goes directly to the operating system to do this. Direct i/o is released in version 6.0 and quickly proved ineffective in 99% of cases.  Speak with a direct support, e/s-rich person has a high incidence of invalid block headers (IBHs). I expect at some point, it will be rewritten (specially for the exalytics) or pulled from the product.

  • Download worksheet of others generates you have not signed the Applications required database error

    Greetings,

We use the 7.2.12.04.25 32-bit version of ADI on a machine IBM P750 running AIX 5.3.  The correct application of the Oracle is version 11.5.10 on a 10G database.  We have two users who are unable to download each other spreadsheets, but are able to upload their own.  Another user is able to download the worksheets created by both users who cannot download all other worksheets.  ADI settings seem to be the same, and users choose the same responsibility.  Database properties appear to be the same as well inside spreadsheets.  One option would be to copy the contents of the worksheet to the other person in one they have created, and then load it but this process is too cumbersome to entertain.  Has anyone met and solved this problem?  The mistake they see is "you have not signed the required Applications database.

    Thank you!

  • How to change the popup of extended properties in the portal with new editors (editor of collections)?

    Hello

We try to change the extended properties, I think the component in the web designer to display a selector of user object instead of a text field for extended properties, attached to the element of service requested... Any help would be appreciated...

    Thank you

I think you can also do the following

    (1) expand the ShoppingCartItem and PersonWantsOrg table with a column (CCC_Person). This will be a foreign key column containing pointing to the Person table, and this will stored an entry UID_Peson

    (2) create a new request property (shop Manager-> IT > config database-> properties of demand), assign this column CCC_Person

    (3) affect the request property of the AccProduct (open the product and find the field 'Properties of the request' in the Manager)

Once done, when you click on 'Request', it should allow the request property, which in turn is a FK field in the person table, in effect it should allow you to choose a person.

I have not tested but I think it should work.

If you prefer to use ADSAccount instead of the person, change the column pointing to ADSAccount instead. Of course, you need manage what is happening with this column in the backend process.

The utility is really for versions prior to 11.1.2.x, if you see the txt file with the utility you will see there is no taken in charge and LCM is the road, what you are trying to obtain the utility to remove users?

If you use the utility, you will first need to change updateNativeDir.sh and EPM_ORACLE_INSTANCE the value that it would have a path windows in there.

When I checked for the solution in the RTO: I got one of the thread:

    https://community.Oracle.com/thread/2485064.PDF

"If you return your latest data and if only your Essbase application is damaged and if none of the techniques.

work then you can remove your essbase application and create the same planning.

"But then you must set all the parameters of your cache and other database properties".

Can someone tell me complete process on the solution above.

    Kind regards

    Stally.

    There are ways of diff...

    1. If you have the last backup, then you can replace total folder DB from the DB Backup folder.

    2. If you have archived backup (archive application saved with the command) and then restore this backup application.

in above of ways you can retrieve data until the date backup took. Rest of the data we can retrieve using the Audit table... Only if the Audit is enable on the modification of the Planning application data.

Last option is delete essbase total demand if all else fails, update from planning create enforcement action. But the application settings (hidden settings will have by default) then you need to update those if you are aware of these values)-this way, you will lose all data (hope you have all data backup, or level 0)

    See you soon!

  • Cannot extend a VMFS volume

I have an installation of VMWare Essentials 5 I've updated since version 4.

Initially, I had 4 300 GB drives in a hardware raid. After the upgrade to version 5, I added 4 additional disks and used the HP software to extend the logical volume to 1.9 TB.

I am trying to add this new space to my store of VMFS data but am unable to.

When I select my host in VCenter and go to storage in the Setup tab and then go to devices so I can see my disk is recognized as 1.91 TB.

It also shows the primary and logical partitions current:

    Primary:

    1 BACK 16-bit < M 4.00 32 MB

    2 BACK 16-bit > = 32 M 4.00 GB

    3 VMFS 833,22 GB

    4 scope 896,00 MB

    Logic:

    1 BACK 16-bit > = 32 M 250.00 MB

When I go to the store database properties dialog box and click the button increase then I should see the list of available free space.

This list remains empty and so I can't extend the volume.

The file system is 5.54 VMFS with a block size of 1 MB.

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Regarding kind.

    Marcel bourdon

Sorry for the delay, I did a rebuild of my test system these days.

I have reproduced what you have and was able to successfully complete such VMFS volume that documented in the link I provided (except VMFS partition 3)

I did install ESXi 4.1 U2 on a 900 GB drive, then upgrade to ESXi 5.0 and increase the size of the disc to 1.9 TB. Then I opened a session SSH, fdisk used to resize/increase the VMFS partition (which btw. is a primary partition with the new additional disk space adjacent to it) and expanded the cultivated partition using vmkfstools.

If do not already rebuild you the host, please after af fdisk-lu as well as ls/vmfs/devices/disks

  • 'Members of Dimension' Vs 'stored members '.

This question concerns a difference I see in 'database properties' - 'Dimensions' tab for one of our custom dimensions.

For one of our dimensions in Production, we have X number of members. When I check 'database properties' - 'Dimensions' tab 'Members in the Dimension' is equal to X and also equal to X 'stored members'.

But developing when I compare the same columns "Members in the Dimension" and "stored" for this custom dimension, they have different numbers. The number in the column 'Stored members' is less than X.

While I was trying to find out the reason why I noticed that we had extinguished the ACTION IMPLIED (Essbase.cfg) property in production for only our request but we don't turn it off in development. I was hoping that it was the cause of the difference and so I did the same setting to change in the development in the essbase.cfg file and restart the servers.

The problem now is even now only synchronize the values in two columns ('Members in the Dimension'! = 'Stored members'). Is there something that I could be missing?

Please let me know your thoughts so that I can correct this difference.

    Thank you.

    Hello

You opened, saved and then restructured the outline.

    Consult the following link:

  • VMware vCenter service stops with size of DB SQL errors

    Hello

We run VMware vCenter 4.1 with 3 ESX hosts and VMs. 50 vCenter runs on Windows 2008 R2, SQL 2005 Express SP2.

Yesterday, our virtual backup failed, saying: it could not connect to the vCenter agent. When I have looged question, it appeared that he had stopped the vCenter Server service. Upward on the continuation of the investigation, it appears that the SQL Express database had reached 4 GB in size, which is limited, and this caused the vCenter fall service.

I checked some of the forum posts and have accomplished the following:

    • Define a retention policy of database for tasks and events, it is initially unchecked, but I checked and set it to 90 days in the beginning and now 30 days.
    • Found a script on the VMware forum called VCDB_table_cleanup_MSSQL_V4.X.sql that can clean the database. I put it to delete the old data (change of SET @DELETE_DATA = 1) 90 days and he kidnapped 130 000 + lines.
    • Performed a narrowing of the database & file shrink on the data file - I was only 9 MB back?
    • Performed a narrowing of the database & file shrink on the log file - it right back a little more, about 100 MB.
    • Changed the size of the log file of 460 MB to 1024 MB, in database properties > settings files.

However, even after all of the above, when I reboot the server, or stop and start the service vCenter, the following errors are recorded in the application log:

'PK_VPX_BIN_DATA' in 'VIM_VCDB' database because the 'PRIMARY' filegroup is full. Create disk space by deleting unnecessary files, removing objects in the filegroup, adding additional files to the filegroup, or setting autogrowth on for existing files in the file group. "is returned when you run the SQL statement" INSERT INTO VPX_BINARY_DATA VALUES (ROWLOCK) (ID, DATA_TYPE, BIN_DATA, CREATED_TIME, CHANGE_ID) (?,?,?,?,?) ". »
the message resource is present, but the message is not in the string/message table

Can anyone provide another solution to this problem? We must be able to perform a successful backup!

For any help or suggestions appreciated!

    Ben

Due to the size of the database, the query may take time. I suggest that you let run and just be patient.

Another option is to upgrade to a version of SQL Server 2005/2008 'complete' (see http://kb.vmware.com/kb/7960893), or - where this is an option for you - to migrate towards the currently experimentally supported (starting with vCenter Server 4.1 Update 1) version SQL Express 2008 which supports up to 10 GB per database. (see http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere4/r40/vsp_compatibility_matrix.pdf) Although there are 32 and 64 bit in compatibility matrix, it seems that there are currently problems with 64-bit (see http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1036085)
