Database server connection &

I have xp professional. Microsoft sql server 2005, ms access 2010 and IIS 5.1 are installed in my system.

I find that my database is an ODBC connection or database Jet or other and how I connect the database with ASP.

Hello

I don't think that it is a topic for the Win XP Forums Edn-users.

I'm not even sure that a problem like this involving multiple applications of generation is a subject for any forum online.

Search for aspects of the topic and you will find pages that will be able you knowledge cobine.

  • Reconstructed View Composer databases, view server connection problems

I had to go back to a previous snapshot on my SQL database server that was right before I installed the database to View Composer.  Mode to connect to the server, there is a pool for the related clones.  How can I remove the pool?  When I try to delete it, I get an error that I do not remember the hand, but basically it has to do with the fact that see connection to the server could not find the swimming pool in the database.  Any ideas?

You would need to connect via ADSI Edit.    Check out this KB for instructions on how to remove obsolete work and clones, http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1008658positions.   This should give you an idea on how to connect to the ADAM database and navigate.

  • Follow incoming JDBC connections to the database server

    Hello

We have a database of 10gr 2 on RHEL4. This database is mainly used by Oracle E-Business suite.
External applications connect to the database using JDBC. Most of the time this configuration works very well. Sometimes, however, we get an error "no data to read from socket" at the end of the external applications. It seems to be a problem with the JDBC connections, but we could not even identify him. But I feel that the problem is NOT the end of the database. I just want to confirm that.

To cut a long story short - is it possible to follow incoming JDBC connections on the database server? Of course, I can follow the actual sessions created for external applications. But is it possible that I can say that if the JDBC request reached the server database or not?

    Knew that :)

listener registers EACH connection request, you get

As the JDBC connection string is correct at the client end, I'll be able to find details of all applications for connection in the newspaper of the listener, even if some of them do not end up like connections to the database.

PS: I do not belong to the sanctified tribu tribe of DBAs, so please excuse the obvious ignorance!

Each connection request that gets the listener is registered; regardless of the success or failure.
listener registers status = 0 for successful queries.
listener registered status = (as 12514) for failed requests
    If/when the connection request goes wrong & can't seem to the listener, then the listener does nothing;
Since he never received such a request

Not quite sure if I'm still he hands the right way or if the error above is related to RMAN not able to synchronize with the physics of the day before.

  • sqlplus to connect to remote oracle database server

    Hello

I have the server database oracle 10g on solaris 10 and I usually connect using my account to solaris and run sqlplus on the server itself. This works!

I downloaded and installed the client instant oracle for solaris 64 and I can launch sqlplus command but I'm confused on what should be the syntax of the command to connect to remote oracle and solaris 10 database server where I have the system account.

I tried sqlplus help but still I could not correct syntax that may be used to authenticate to the oracle server.

    I tried

    sqlplus user@hostname:1512/SID

then he asked for password, but when I typed the password and you press on enter, it gave some error

but he still asked as username so I type user@SID and then prompt password - typed password and it works!

so I do not understand what should be the correct syntax for that in the first attempt, I'm able to connect.

If possible, please give the exact command with realworld examples, (I tried with sqlplus - help already)

    Thanks in advance.

wonder what if I didn't tnsnames.ora on the client machine, how will be the syntax?

You generally need (or at least strongly want) a file tnsnames.ora on the client machine.

-You could configure Oracle Internet Directory and allow this product provide TNS alias resolution for the Organization (similar to the DNS configuration for a LAN).
-Many tools (I have not personally tried SQL * more and it can be dependent on version) allow you to specify the whole TNS alias in the tnsnames.ora file (i.e. everything that follows the abcd.domain.com = entry) but which is extremely heavy for type
-According to the version of the Oracle file sqlnet.ora, the complexity of your configuration client (that is, if you try to use the more advanced features such as failover), you may be able to use the syntax EZConnect

    sqlplus username/password@host:port:SID/service_name

Where host is the server that the database is running, the port is the port the listener (i.e. 1521 default) listening and SID/service_name is the SID or service name, you are trying to connect to.

    I tried

    Uninstalling and reinstalling

Restore default network (I can't connect to the network)

    Re start printer

Only, I bought this printer for the eprint

    Help please

    Hello

Let me start by saying that I am not familiar with your particular machine, but the following points can help.

    1. try setting, the subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 , just to make sure that it is on the same subnet as the rest of your devices.

    2. I guess from what you say that the option to add the DNS server is not available in the peripheral screen menu.  Is this correct?

    3. as you say all your devices have implemented static IP, receives the router as DNS server or you set the addresses of DNS servers individually under the IPv4 for each device properties?  Since your PC can view you a Web page for the device by entering its local IP address in your browser.  If you can, is there an option under network in order to assign either the router as DNS server, or to be able to define individuals respond, depending on which is applicable in your case?

If all goes well, someone who knows your device will see this, but let me know how you get the above proposals.

    Best wishes

    Best regards,

The session does not expire if you are streaming data from the application to the client. However, you will need to manage the data sent over the network, because it can make the very slow network if you send this amount of data at high speeds on the network and then to the customer. This connection between client and server is the biggest problem, because bandwidth is usually small. Think about downloading software by one side oracle (for example 1 GB), this takes time and is prone to errors.

We did something similar by transferring the data from the database (in our case, it has been stored in a BLOB) on a dedicated server with a server web apache on it. Then, we send a link to the client, which then uses the link to get the special file server data.

The advantage is that you don't have to code the transfer of huge files in the application of the adf but can already use ready to use of software (balancing bandwidth and the recovery of a broken download).

  • Creation of a new database server

    Hi all

I am new on ODI and is currently in the learning phase. I have a question about creating new data server.

I did the below mentioned steps

    (1) created a new database server by providing the connection user name and password.

Question 1: I gave the user name and password that the scheme I want to connect. Is this correct?

    (2) right click on the new database server and create a new physical schema. Here for the scheme and the scheme of work, I see the pattern in my database.

Question 2: Why all the patterns is part of the schema and the schema of work drop-down list? Would it not be limited to the diagram provided in step 1.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Matt,

Here's a blog that I wrote a few weeks ago that should help you understand the topology: http://www.rittmanmead.com/2014/12/data-integration-tips-one-data-server/

    It will be useful.

  • ODI - reconfigure to new database server

    Hello

We had to move the database from Solaris to Linux server. As a result, changed the name of the server and the old databases are stopped. Repositories of master and work have been migrated to the new database server.

Is this enough to update odiparams, agentcreate.properties and change the connection details by connecting to ODI to update the names of servers? I also used opmn to run ODI as a windows service. version 11.1.1.6

    Kind regards

    Brig.

    No. I wouldn't do that.

Repositories of masters and work are on the same server. I hope that the update of odiparams, of agentcreate.properties and modify connection details, by connecting to ODI ODI would point to the new database repositories.

    Kind regards

  • Chargeback database server move

I'm trying to move our internal billing server 2.5 in steps and I have problems in my first step; move the DB chargeback.

The DB has been copied to the new server database successfully, and I've updated the four xml files with the new database server name.

The healthcare system in the web GUI tab I see even the name of the DB server newly updated under general information > vCenter Chargeback database.

However, when I try to run the Chargeback 2.6 installation to upgrade the connection test DB shows the former name of the database server and it is gray.

I restarted the server after making changes to the xml file, but still the same thing happens.

    Any suggestions?

    \..... VMware vCenter vCenter Chargeback\installvariables Chargeback\Uninstall_VMware

When you look inside the file, you can see the 3 following parameters pointing to the address of the old server DB.

    ------

    DB_HOST =

    dbHostPort =

    dbUrl =

    ------

Change the address on the new DB server and go through the upgrade.  Now the DB address of the server in the "Database Configuration" section of the installation wizard should point to the new server of DB.

    Kind regards

  • How to find the name of the Oracle database server?

    People,

    Hello. I installed Oracle Database 11 g 2 OS Oracle Linux 5. The installed directory is/home/user/OracleDB_Home and/home/user/OracleDB_Base.

Host name is "mylinux". Name of the database instance is PT853.

I use "mylinux" as the name of the database server, it does not work. I use another way to do as below:

    Export ORACLE_HOME = / home/user/OracleDB_Home

Can I use "mylinux ORACLE_HOME" as the name of the database server, it does not work either.

    My question is:

How to find the name of the database server Oracle with Oracle Linux 5 OS?

    Thank you.

You must learn the basic of database Oracle.

Please don't regard it not same as SQL server in terms of configuration.

You never specify the database server name in Oracle.

You specify the host name in only two places, 1) Tnsnames.ora/JDBC/ODBC (or any client you want to connect) and listener.ora) 2.

There was nothing called specify the name of the Oracle database from an oracle database server.

    Concerning

    Anurag.

  • How have the Linux database server listener listen to the service in the Net of Windows XP Client Manager?

    People,

Hello. I installed Oracle 11 GR 2 database server in the Oracle Linux 5 operating system.
All customers (NetCA, DBCA, GROUND Deveoper, sqlplus...) works properly on the database server. The LISTENER_PT853 listener is listening on client tools under Linux successfully.

I also installed Oracle database Client(SQL Developer, NetMgr, NetCA, sqlplus,...) in Windows XP. So that the client tools to connect to the database on Linux server, the listener in Linux must be tuned to the service in Windows XP.

In Oracle Linux 5 Server Machine Net Manager:

    Service name: PT853
    Connection type: default database
    "TCP/IP Protocol".
    Host name: 192.168.196.102
    Port: 1521

    Listener: LISTENER_PT853
    Protocol: TCP/IP
    Host: 192.168.196.102
    Port: 1521

I have test the Service PT853 with "SYS" username and password "SYS." The connection is successful.

In the Windows XP Client computer, the information in the Net Manager is lower at:

    Service name: PT853_Linux
    Protocol: TCP/IP
The host of the database Machine name: 192.168.196.102
    Port: 1521

I test the connection by using "SYS" username and password "SYS" and got this error: ORA - 12514:TNS: listener does not currently of service requested in connect descriptor. There may be an error in the input fields or server may be ready to connect.

Can I check the status of the listener in Linux Server machine as below:

    [user@localhost bin] $. / lsnrctl status LISTENER_PT853

Its release: Service PT853 has 1 instance. PT853 of the Forum, State LOAN, has 1 handler for this service.

Foregoing, we saw the listener in the Linux server machine only to listen to the PT853 service in Linux but not to listen to the service PT853_linux of the Windows XP client computer.

Windows XP (192.168.196.101) and Linux (192.168.196.102) can ping each other successfully. So that client tools in Windows XP connection in Server database on Linux, the listener in Linux need to listen to on the service in Windows XP first.

In Net Linux Manager, I add an address more (TCP/IP, 192.168.196.101, PORT 1521) to LISTENER_PT853, but gets the error.

    My question is:

How have the Linux database server listener listen to the service in the Net of Windows XP Client Manager?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi you ave create listener.ora.

Actually, no he didn't "need to create listner.ora.

In fact, its problems stem from the fact that it * has * created one instead of letting some things by default.

I give an example of my environment

    [oracle@home ~] $ cd /home/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/network/admin/

    [oracle@home admin] $ cat listener.ora

    listener.ora # Network Configuration file: /home/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/network/admin/listener.ora

    # Generated by Oracle configuration tools.

    LISTENER =

    (DESCRIPTION =

    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP (PORT = 1522))(HOST = home.test.al))

    (CONNECT_DATA =

    (SERVER = DEDICATED)

    (SERVICE_NAME = orcl.test.al)

    )

    )

    ADR_BASE_LISTENER = / home/oracle/app/oracle

    [oracle@home admin] $

Change host, name of service depending on your environment. Your port is 1521.

Then, first run all the listener and database startup. If you do the opposite, with that you will need to register the service change the order of system registry.

Let me now if you need another sth

    Kind regards
