Date and time incorrect

Hi all

Hoping someone can help. Recently fired off vacation and started my 2009 MacBook Pro running 10.10.5 2.53. Start with the time and date the original at the turn of the century and now cannot be reset via system preferences and I can't access my ical or mail.

Any ideas how I can be able to fix?

Kind regards

Toby

What happens when you try to reset the date and time in system preferences? If it is not defined or is it keep coming back?

May be a corrupt .plist.

Make a backup, preferably 2 backups on 2 separate drives.

Quit the application.

Go to Finder and select your user folder. With this Finder window as the windshield, select Finder/display/display options for presenting or order - J.  When the display options opens, check "show the library folder. This should make your visible user library folder in your user folder.  Select the library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist.  Move the .plist on your desktop.

Restart your computer, open the application and test. If it works fine, delete the plist for the office.

If the application is the same, return the .plist where you got it, crushing the latest.

Thanks to leonie for certain information contained in this.

My son has a mini iPad and recently received a chrome error message, saying that his connection can not be deprived or suspected piracy activity. This avoids him to use chrome. I read on the forums that people with this error had fixed successfully it by checking that the iPad had the right date and time. When we went into settings to check for it, the date and the hour showed that on 2 May 1970 (?) It is currently only 23 April 2016, so I would say it's a little out of sync... I know that Press esc to access the bios but there is no option to change the date and time in there. I put the date / the correct time in windows, but this does not seem to synchronize with the bios. I've updated to the latest version of the bios, but this is not enough.

How can I change or update the time in the bios?

    Thank you

    Hello

I doubt this time and date setting BIOS does affect Windows activation time Windows doesn t affect it in my opinion. There must be another reason for this problem.
You can activate Windows by phone?

Normally the date and time in the BIOS can change you if you mark the date or time, and then press on + or - to change this. Sometimes you have to press PageDown/to the top according to the model of BIOS or laptop.
Usually in the configuration of the BIOS you will find a brief info how changing the values.

  • Need to sort the photos by date and time taken

It is ridiculous that there is no possibility to sort the photos in an album by the date and time taken.  I imported the photos of several cards, two cameras take pictures at the same time, there is no way to sort photos, so the photos appear in true chronological order.  This should be added to the Photos, I think it's available in iPhoto.

On Photos for Mac you can sort photos by date and time.  This was introduced with the update to El Capitan.  What version of Photos are you running?

If you select one of your albums and ctrl-click, you can sort it by the titles, oldest first or newest first.

Or is the problem that the sort order is incorrect?

Then, you may need to adjust the date and time for pictures from camera cards different.  If you imported the photos while you were in different time zones, photo interpreter differently dates.  It will use the time zone of time current system at the time the photos are imported to interpret dates on cards.

  • Evrytime I connect me, I have to reset my date and time, why?

Why my date and time do not be saved? Why should I reset each time my date and time?

    Hi NarendraNP.

Here are three possibilities about why this is happening to you.
    1. The time in the BIOS is not set correctly. Therefore, every time that you start the PC the incorrect time is displayed. To correct, shut down the computer, turn it on and immediately go into the BIOS settings. Check that the date and time is defined, save and exit, then start the computer normally.
    2. The CMOS battery is dead and needs to be replaced. To fix, you have to expose the motherboard and replace the small type CR2032 on motherboard. You can find many videos on YouTube that will show you how to replace a motherboard CMOS battery.
    3. You don't have administrator rights to the computer to change the date and time, or there is a program installed on the computer that locks the system setting changes (an example of a program that does this is Faronics DeepFreeze). The only solution for this is to temporarily disable the program that is to lock the Control Panel, or ask a system administrator set the date and time for you.
One of these explanations\fixes help it?
  • update of the date and time

    Hello:

My application requires that date and time of the device is correct.
Is it possible to establish the source of the time to the network and update?

    BlackBerry Java development environment: 4.2.1

    Thank you.

    You can get the hour of the RadioInfo.getNetworkTime network (System.currentTimeMillis ());

    You can set the time of the device by using net.rim.device.api.system.Device.setDateTime (dateTimeMillis);

I think not only api are available in 4.2.1 to set the timezone, so the device can still show the incorrect time.

  • Date and time system continues to change each time the system starts.

I noticed that the time and date of my home PC gets changed every time the system is booted. The default date is set for Jan. 2008, when in fact it should be July 2014.

Also, my PC became slow death. I use Windows 7 on 1 GB of RAM, 250 GB PC. I used last my home PC 2 years back, but there has always been someone to use it.

It shows the OS disk to 7 GB of free, when in fact I never installed or anything unnecessary stored on the disk of BONE; Whatever unnecessary programs were there, I uninstalled them recently, keeping just a few essential ones. After uninstalling, it shows to 7 GB of free, when in fact it should be more than that.

I use Avast anti-virus, which I think is unnecessary, that its not to protect my PC and as other programs, too, is quite dead slow.

The system is infected by viruses? Manually, I checked the system for viruses and clean the system of all unnecessary and, program files, but I'm still not sure whether it is a virus or a PC problem.

I am a COMPUTER analyst, and's just done it 2 days that I use my PC at home. I could format my PC, or where applicable be buy Windows 8 with a new processor.

    Please advise.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Ralph Davidson.

    Hello

You really need a minimum of at least 2GBs of RAM to run Windows 7 well enough.

As you have only 1 GB of RAM, which seems to be one of the reasons why it is slow.

Increase the physical RAM or try ReadyBoost:

Looks like you have some problems.

  • my computer continues to change the date and time

my computer continues to change the date and time even after I set it correctly. I am running windows 7 Professional. Thank you

    Hello

    ·         Since when are you facing this problem?

    ·         Did you the latest changes on the computer before this problem?

    Method 1:

The date and time in the BIOS settings may be incorrect.

Important: Change BIOS (Basic input output system) /(CMOS) complementary metal oxide semiconductor

Settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

    You can see this:

Incorrect time is displayed on 64 bit versions of Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 after upgrading on-site

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2001086

    Method 2:

I suggest you replace the CMOS battery. If you are not comfortable with that, then I suggest you to contact the manufacturer for assistance.

  • International date and time

Last week, I was in the United States and took a lot of pictures.  Now that I'm back in Australia, Photos has automatically adjusted the time and date of the pictures to what was the time in Australia, not the time it was when I took the pictures.  It's incredibly annoying.  Does anyone know how to fix this please? Thank you very much.

Hello! I had the same problem. I took photos in Asia, some on them without location data. I imported on my Mac at home in France. And then, something went wrong with the date and time. As I've learned here for photos without location data, Photos uses the time zone of the place where you perform the import. If had imported the photos in the same zone where I took them, everything would have been fine.

The solution was to select all the photos and then manually set their time zone in Malaysia where I took them. You can do this with "setting date and time" to the 'Image' (or 'Photos' menu, or however, it is called in English).
