  You use the function Worksheet.Copy. By design (and documentation), this function creates a new worksheet. If you want to replace the contents of a worksheet that you will need to copy the cells on the source worksheet and write to the target worksheet. To do this, you must use the Range object.

  I am trying to build a vi to organize my data in Excel workbooks.

  There are ActiveX controls that are available to communicate with MS Office, but I could not find any usable help and detailed explanation of the controls, properties, arguments, orders etc.

  For example, I want to do simple task-to open a workbook and reread the list of the names of worksheets.

  General - where can I find assistance for activeX controls? They are part of ASM excel activeX library (if so, where can I find info), or it is a version of library of NOR?

  Once again, thank you for your example, I have attached my vi doing exactly this:

  Opening excel file and provides a list of the names of worksheet in the workbook.

  It can be used as a Subvi to open the spreadsheet workbook/search by name and edit/modify cells etc.

  There is no need to import the value of range for LabVIEW and then to write this back to Excel, if you use the Range.Copy method. Here's how to use this method (I used the screws GTA to open Excel and to get the Excel.Application ActiveX reference, it was faster to validate the code of interest)

  Hi all

  I was next to the forum of Labview for about a year, it's the same with my programming so I'm a little rusty. I don't have someone code this for me, but just a quick plan high level to point me in the right direction.  I am able to work through the tutorials Excel etc.

  Task 1: Basically, I have a set of data Excel (2 to 6 columns of figures, not the time) I want to read in Labview and throw in a XY graph as the base model that remains visible all the time.  This data set is quite long, length vs. size (length is 100km, 1 m intervals). I essentially want a scroll X graph to display all of the data.

  Task 2: Acquire a direct serial data string which will be superimposed on the graph of task 1 model. Acquired essentially data comparing data in real time to previously.

  In the past, I made the simple projects with Excel data reading and also the reading of data in series.  What I'm not clear on is how to create the (static) graph with Excel data model while superimposing live data as it comes.  It is the basis of an annual check of the investigation process.

  Advice on the process would be appreciated so I'll be working through the nuts and bolts.

  If you are worried that your data sets is too large, then run a test with simulated data to see how LV takes it. You might be surprised. In all cases, you should be aware that the chart control will need to redraw it with any changes you do anyway, and as far as I know, having a large amount of data is the main thing that can make a slow chart control. If you find that you have too much data, you might need to decimate it you based on how much you zoom before putting it in the graph.

• conversion of the error of date / time when using easy excel reports

  I export a 2D array to an excel file using Excel reports easy vi. I have no problem with that. My data has a number of areas with different formats (text and date/time). My problem is the following:

  * some (in other words, not all data is in the same worksheet) the veiled values of date/time to mm/dd/yyyy format whereas they should be in mm/dd/yyyy (is the excel format it is y in!). Essentially, I have 30/09/2008 (September 30, 2008) in a cell. After ticks on Oct. 1, it will display the date as, 01/10/2008. Excel thinks that this date is in the format dd/mm/yyyy.

  This is a known error in earlier versions of Excel (2002), in particular when you convert a .csv, .xls file. The solution, it was not to add "Local: = True ' at the end of the vba command string (see here: MS Knowledge Base). Here, in LabView I'm not sure how to proceed.

  I tried to change the format of the column in question to the 'text' by calling an Excel Macro in LabView, but do you think I can find the vba command to do? No, not so much.

  LabView saves the Excel file in 97-2003 format (I use MSOffice 2007) and I wonder if the version they are using does not consider the time correction, as described in the knowledge base (or if it applies).

  Any suggestions, I'd love to hear from you.

  I was able to find the cell Format Excel set vi and successfully change the format of the value of the cell. It wasn't until I had found the vi that I realized that I've been down this road before. Change the format after the table has been created does not change values dd and mm switching that has already occurred. However, if I did before I "created the table" (or vi Excel table) and set the format to be '@' then it displays the string like 'Text' in the Excel file. That's nice. I can control what cell, row, or column to format now. If I want to be in a date format then I must apply the Format of cell vi after the easy Excel table vi.

  It sounds like a stupid race around me...

  I have created a merge document and mail merge in word using an excel sheet spread as a data source.  Initially, no sign of £ showed in the document among other formatting problems.  I have (finally) found help explaining that I should use MS Excel via a DDE data sheets - I tried this but it seems to corrupt the data so that the column that contains say '1 names' contains "price data", "address" line contains the data of 'comments', making the e-mail merge nonsense.

  If you use an alternative data source is CBO or something all NFL results (which wasn't shown on the worksheet) appear in the mail merge '0' both are unacceptable.

  Surely I'm not the only person to meet these challenges is the software never tested before being sold where is the help manual, I tried to use the online help but will not accept my product key.  All solutions provide the most basic assistance but my documents are fairly complex something computers should be good.  I lost most of today on this.  Sometimes I think it would be faster to type these longhand things than to use a Microsoft product.

  So, if I store that excel sheet using a navigation button in table wwv_flows_files, then automatically all means this sheet file data in the excellent flows_files table must be inserted into the table empty i have.
  
  It is possible to store the data this way using a browse.

  If you're on APEX 4.1 create data loading page. Then the end user may download the CSV data to your table.
  Excel can be saved in CSV format.
