date timestamp

I have a card of 3 rd-party that I use to collect data.  The data are anchored with a timestamp IRIG.  I am able to extract the timestamp data and it appears correctly in LabVIEW. (see VI below).  The data are saved in a .csv file.  In DIAdem, I read the file, then using 2 channels with time data, I create a channel of timestamp (time format) using the calculator.  I seem to be calculating the portion of time very well, but not the part of the date.  Here's the formula into the calculator:

Ch("[1]/timestamp) = Ch("[1]/seconds) + 2082844800 + Ch ("[1] / subseconds") * 1.0e - 6

What Miss me?

The data files (although collected with LabVIEW) are treated with another application.  It is the output of this application (.csv), which should be read in tiara.  The works of 62167132800 value.

    This puts in place together with the date current time... No biggie... but since I need all records for the day, I need the timestamps on the two buttons... the startDate set to 00:00:00 and the endDate updated 11:59:59.

    But how the hell do I do?  I can't just add both because a user can connect every time that... I tried brute force, setting the time as:

    endDate.hours = 11;

    endDate.minutes = 59;

    .. without luck.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

    You can use the TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE data type:

    If your date column came from a user interface perhaps you need a small trigger like this:

    I have a command prompt in the dashboard that fills the variable user_entered_date of query. but I defualted to a SystemDate in the repository.


    I have a report and this leads to a page of a dashboard. Whenever I open the page, it gives me an error. But when I select a date in the command prompt and run the report, and it works well.
    Its only when I open the page or the dashboard at the start, it is in error as syntax incorecct. I give the example below...


    The statement that is issued for the view in the present case is

    SET the VARIABLE user_entered_date =' TIMESTAMP "2013-02-28 00:00:00"'

    If date = "TIMESTAMP" 2013-02-28 00:00:00 "
    I'm not able to remove this word TIMESTAMP that is causing the error. How to do this?

    This isn't really the same question as stated in the other posts, this is how works the POF.

    When a Date is serialized as POF, it is stored in TimeStamp format. What is actually a Date + nano precision.
    During its deserialization (e.g. a serialized Date/TimeStamp, it always returns a timestamp, which is a subclass of java.util.Date and can be cast to a Date.)

    Are there restrictions on the function group for example based on the data type.

    My problem\misunderstanding is in the IR:

    I have a TIMESTAMP (columnname TM_TIME) column and I can schose in the group by clause, but not in the function section. Is there a reason why and I could make it work.

    As you have noticed date, timestamp do not allow to use functions such as min, max, etc... in the interactive report.
    Currently, these functions are supported for columns of type number.
    The problem has been addressed in the development as a bug:

    Bug 10247814: AGGREGATE of REPORT INTERACTIVE AND GROUP BY AGGREGATE takes CHARGE ONLY ON NUMBERS

    Like many, I can see it is addressed in the next version (apex 4.2). Unfortunately, we do not have a timetable for the next version.

  • 11g you can store Timestamp in the Date field?

    In our 9i database, we store a timestamp in a Date field - this is not correct, I know, but it's a legacy issue that we have not solved at the present time.

    We have updated to 11g and now insert a model date Timestamp is successful BUT the time part gets cut off then when search you again you get only the data of the DD-MM-YYYY.

    It is a problem for us, and I would like to know if its possible to set up a Date on the ground in 11G to store data of hh.mm.ss.ssss DD-MM-YYYY entirely.

    Any constructive thoughts appreciated :)

    There is no change in the specification of the DATE data type that the Oracle RDBMS is concerned.
    What you have managed to insert and to persist in a DATE previously in 9i should be the same in 11g (all other things being equal).

    Have you checked to go using a format full explicit TO_CHAR that the time element is actually missing?
    Verified that this is not a conversion implied and/or associated NLS_DATE_FORMAT error?
    And you can always check with the DUMP function which is really persistent.

    Once the foregoing double-check, then the question is what is inserting this time stamp?
    What application? What does say? The pilots have changed? etc.etc
    For example, at one point, I remember that changed how jdbc drivers dates with times must be mapped to the types of data Oracle, i.e. of something as a java.sql.date to java.sql.timestamp. But it is rather a distant memory.

    I don't think you lose necessarily any information whatsoever. It is probably more a function of your NLS_TIMESTAMP_FORMAT and NLS_DATE_FORMAT. For example, your NLS_DATE_FORMAT could be default setup for a HH24 (24 hours) which would report to midnight as hours of "00". However, it seems that your NLS_TIMESTAMP_FORMAT is configured with "HH" format with a Meridian indicator that means 12 hours time.

    Your comparisons should use date/timestamp data types anyway, so as long as the input value is correctly converted to date type that shouldn't matter in any case.

    You can see what is actually stored by using the DUMP function:

    SQL> SELECT  DUMP(TO_TIMESTAMP(TO_CHAR(TRUNC(SYSDATE,'DD'),'MM/DD/YYYY HH:MI:SS AM'))) AS TSTAMP

    As you can see the TSTAMP and DT store almost the same values (218,7,1,13), but the TSTAMP has more precision because of fractions of a second.

    As told by BluShadow and rp0428, you can execute the following statement:

    The output will be today's date and the month last, last day.
