DB Oracle 10.2.0.4 generating a large number of trace file.
Hi allWe oracle 10.2.0.4 DB running on HP - UX PARISC system.
Today, I saw this system of file with a binary oracle little drastically increases.
on the descent of the cause, I found that there is generation of trace file every second in the directory BDUMP ranging from 500 KB to 2 MB.
The no files generated today is
$ pwd
/ cbsora1/Ora10g/OraHome1/RDBMS/log/bdump
$
$ ls - lrt | grep "Oct 20' | WC-l
29606
Tried to look in one of the trace files but failed to get the news.
Here is the example output from the trace file.

Thanks in advance,

This is a known problem with 10.2.x.x on HP - UX with a certain operating system configuration, you must define DISK_ASYNCH_IO on false and perhaps FILESYSTEMIO_OPTIONS voice against zero.

Oracle XE, generating a huge amount of trace files
Hi all
one of our customer have oracle XE installed on windows, 32-bit and that XE is generating a lot of (in GB) trc file in BDUMP... These trace files varying from 200 M to 1 GB creating havoc on my drive that I'm out of my drive...
I checked the sql_trace is set to false, no code in our application is running sql_trace = true, so I get no idea about this unexpected behavior of oracle XE...
What should be the steps to remove this error... any suggestions would be appreciated...
Thanks and greetings
VDCan you post the first 20 lines of any of these trace files?
Would it be a queue of work process?

Extract GG generates a considerable track when number of blob files wide of transfers
Hello experts
GG, workplace we tried to transfer the blob wide about 400 MB - extracted began to generate a huge number of trail files(thousands files) with no error message.
We played with the trail file size - has increased up to 1 GB, but the result was same.
Can help you with this question?
Hope that this problem is known
Thanks in advance
Vladimir
If you use dbms_lob.write procedure and entry into small pieces then each call to dbms_log.write () creates an update causing a large trail.
You can solve the problem by writing to a temporary blob and then copy this blob in the actual blob column

Cannot write trace files destined for the bottom dump in oracle 10 g
Hi all
Version of the OS: RHEL 5.7
DB version: 10.2.0.4
cluster: database node 2 RAC
Today I faced a strange behavior for one of our production database. Its a database of 2 rac nodes. There is no automatic generation of trace files in the destination of bottom dump on the first node. I am able to see the second trace files in its context dump dest. But the strange behavior occurs on the first node. I see that alert logfile in the bottom dump dest. Despite an error that displays the generated trace file but no file is located in the bdump. Here is the error, but physically he no trace file is generated:
Errors in file/oracle/db/admin / < sid > /bdump/ < sid >j0011558.trc:
can someone have any idea for this strange behavior. There is no script maintenance for the removal of trace files.

Generation of Oracle Trace files for a session
Hello
I use oracle 10g (10.2.0.5) in RHEL5 server. I used the instruction exec dbms_system.set_sql_trace_in_session (147,3,TRUE); to draw a particular session. I am able to track successfully, but I created a new table in this session where I'm not able to find any statement of create table in the trace file generated, but I can find the insert statements that I made on the table newly created in the trace file.
Is not recorded in the events of path of the DDL statements?
Kind regards

Trace file generated not.
Hey guys,.
I am using oracle 10g and is trying to generate a trace file.
Using sql_Plus I see that timed_statistics is set to true, max_dump_file_size is set to unlimited, and user_dump_dest is set to C:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\ADMIN\ORCL\DUMP.
I run the script in Oracle SQL Developer:
ALTER session set sql_trace = true;
/
... Block PL/SQL which I want to trace...
/
ALTER session set sql_trace = false;
/
After that this sql runs without error there is no file on my computer in the user_dump_dest. In fact the path under user_dump_dest does not exist yet. What I first create the path? I looking in the wrong place? I do something wrong when setting sql_trace?
Thank you
IanThe trace file is written to the database server.

Hello
I use Oracle 10 g Rel2.
I'm trying to generate the trace for a session using DBMS_SYSTEM file.
First of all, I used DBMS_SYSTEM. Procedure SET_SQL_TRACE_IN_SESSION to generate the trace for a session, but that file was generating trace udump directory files. Then I checked on the net and found that we cannot generate the trace file in this way for active sessions.
Then I tried to use DBMS_SYSTEM. Procedure SET_ENV, same results. It also generates trace files?
No idea why this is happening? In addition to around how long should I activate trace?
Thanks in advance.It does not generate all trace file unless drawn session perform some activity.

Generate the Trace file to a sql query
Hi all
I want to generate a trace for a sql query file so that I can generate a .out file corresponding I need to check the performance of an application before using it.
Anyone can guide me please how to do this.
I know how do to generate a trace for a concurrent program, but right now, I want to track for a simple sql query.
Kind regards
AnkurHello
Agreed. but I thought that if OP do not have access to metalink then?In any case I not substitute me your answer.
Oops. Sorry I did not read the lines below.
You can turn simple trace for this particular session.
Oracle will generate trace files (.trc) for each session where the value of SQL_TRACE = TRUE and write them to the USER_DUMP_DEST destination. That you can use tkprof to read the generated trace file.Kind regards

Salvation Group
My file system becomes full with Oracle trace files where the binary files are installed, they are not the kind of trace generated when a request for a trace session, they contain information that I am not able to read that they are updated daily.
The path where these files are: /oracle/product/9.2.0/rdbms/log/instancename_ora_8103.trc
That contain these files?
I can remove them to save space?
I can't stop their generation?

What you can do is delete them when they are no longer needed for the purpose of management.

I just generates two numbers (based on the settings you can have) and then use Max & Min to sort them.

I have this function to generate a random number
RandNum = genRand();
public function genRand (): int
{
Return (Math.Random ());
}but he seemed to generate the number is 0
any1 have more luck with this?
Hey,.
According to the range of numbers you're trying to get it, you must either change the type returned or modfiy before he returned. What happens is the number that you generate is probably something like 0.9393 (example) and his cutting the comma because you return a value type int value (no decimals).
try to modify the function to do this:
public function genRand():int { return(Math.random() * 10); }
and you will get a number from 0 to 10. If you want a number from 0 to 100, you can use 100 instead of ten, and so on. This will give you back not decimal numbers. If you want decimal numbers simply change the type of data returned to the number instead. hope that helps. Good luck!
