DC Acrobat crashes when saved as PDF

Everytime I try to "save under", a PDF document on which I put some comments, it crashes and I lose everything. I restarted my computer (I'm on windows 10) and I have the latest version of acrobat reader DC (I've already checked). I also have "fixed installation". What can I do so that he stops to do this?

Thank you

That's what I suspected. Annotations have nothing to do with the accident, the document is most likely corrupted. Unfortunately, there is really not much you can do. One possibility would be to use a different version of Acrobat/Reader software to see if it is something that only happens with your version of reader. You can always download reader XI from here: Adobe Acrobat Reader DC install for all versions

  • CC Illustrator crashes when saving to network drive

    Hi all

We have 3 Macs all 10.10 running or 10.9 who crash when saving eps file types (PDF records very well) to a network drive of NetApp using Illustrator CC 2014.1.0 release.

Users can save files locally and then copy the files to the network without any problems.

    Anyone else having this problem?

    Thanks in advance

    Colin

    Colin,

Here, it is always recommended to open/save from/to clean hard disk and to copy to and from networks and removable media. You may be lucky, at least for a while, but it is better to prevent than cure.

In addition to the (much longer) risk of file corruption, some issues are mentioned here:

  • PC crashes when saving files on network

When I try to save a copy of a file on my network drives, my PC hangs indefinitely until I end the process that is suspended.

No one else on the network is affected by this symptom, and the PC has no problems to access the network or the Internet

    Hello

    1. were you able to save files previously without this problem?
    2. you remember changes recently?

Follow the steps mentioned below and check if they help to solve your problem.

Step 1: Check Event Viewer for detailed information on the problem. Consult the following links.

Step 2: Try to save a file on the desktop and check if the computer crashes. Also open the Task Manager and try to end the process SearchIndexer.exe. This, as mentioned below.

    a. right-click on the taskbar and select Task Manager.
    b. click processes tab, and find SearchIndexer.exe.
    c. Select the message and click on end process.

Step 3: Temporarily try to disable the antivirus on the computer program and check if the problem persists. If the problem does not occur, check if there are updates available for the safety program

Note: Check that you activate your anti-virus protection on the computer back after you complete these steps. It is not recommended to disable these settings on the computer. It's just to solve the problem.

Step 4: If this is not enough, put the computer to boot in order to check if the computer crashes when saving a file. If the problem does not occur in the clean boot state, then you can try the procedure in the following Knowledge Base Article and see the application or program is the cause.

Note: Make sure that you put the computer to a Normal startup, once the troubleshooting completed.

  • 11.01.10 Mac OS 10.8.5 Acrobat crashes when opening preferences or make annotations

I noticed my MacBook Air (2 GHz Intel Core i7 8 GB memory) would open Acrobat 8 Pro rather than Acrobat Pro 11 - I had installed it but at one point had start defaulting to the old.

Then I deleted Acrobat 8 Pro and started using just XI. I use the last updated: Acrobat Pro 11.01.10

I lost my custom tools, so I recreated them after trying to restore from Time Machine.

In any case, the program works very well for a bit, then crashes. It will crash when using annotation tools, always when you try to enter a comment text or copy and paste a. Another way predictable to make it crash is to try to open the preferences.

I'm still using Mac OS 10.8.5.  I will modernize the Mac OS as soon as some problems with other programs I use are resolved so I can upgrade.

According to the release notes, Acrobat 11 should run fine on this and future versions of the Mac operating system.

Can anyone suggest any help get Acrobat Pro XI not crashing? I'm tempted to remove and reinstall the program, but I downloaded it, I think, so I'll have to find a way to do it. I normally order a backup CD, but I'm not sure that those who exist more.

    Thank you!

P.S. I tried to update Adobe Application Manager, which led me to sign up to a free subscription to creative cloud. I signed out of it, as suggested in another post.

I also find that I can copy a text box. The program crashes only when I try and type any character in the text box.

The solution was to remove all versions of Acrobat Pro and reinstall Acrobat Pro XI. I still had the file downloaded in my Time Machine backup. It's a good thing, since the download link of the order of registration on the Adobe Web site under my account would not work.

The problems do not occur with the version 11.0.0. I got the job done, now I am updated to 11.1.0 and will report if they returned.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro DC crashes when I combine PDF files

I recently installed Adobe Acrobat Pro DC on my computer and everytime I try to combine PDF files it says that Adobe has stopped working and crashes. I uninstalled and reinstalled, I did all the updates of windows, I ran the cleaning of Adobe Acrobat tool and all Adobe updates are up-to-date. This is extremely annoying and it really bothers my work, I constantly need to combine PDFs (sometimes thousands of pages). This was never a problem in the past until about 2 weeks ago. I appreciate any help!

    Workaround solution:

My document has 122 pages in .pdf format

I exported the PDF crashing to MS Word in Acrobat Pro DC.

Exported .doc in Word for Mac 2016

Saved .doc exported to PDF in Word or Mac 2016

PDF open in Acrobat Pro ms.

White added the page without the document / application to crash.

  • Acrobat crashes when I try to read forms

I created an application form for my clients to fill on their computer and send to me. Two have completed the forms and sent me back - but the text runs off the page like a long sentence instead of packing inside the text boxes, I inserted. When I click on the sign + to develop the boxes and read complete answers, the document crashes and closes.

    Acrobat Pro for Mac XI

Original document created in Word, transformed into a PDF file, text inserted in the document saved in the PDF format, e-mailed to customers boxes.

I tested the text fields until I sent them, and they seem to work on my computer very well. Don't know what the problem is. Their technical support is closed on weekends, and I need to read one of these documents by tomorrow.

    Anyone know what is happening?

I thought about it. If anyone has this problem, here's what you do:

When you create a text box on the form to fill out, you must right-click the box, click PROPERTIES, and select several LINES instead of SCROLLING of TEXT LONG. If your document has not been signed, you can go back and change every text box of the form to fill out so that you can read the text.

    1. Open the document
    2. Click TOOLS at the top of the page - this opens a menu.
    3. Click FORMS, and then click MODIFY. Now you can click right into whatever the area, you need to set
    4. Click PROPERTIES, select OPTIONS
    5. Check the MULTI-LINE box and uncheck the SCROLLING TEXT ALONG
    6. Repeat for any text boxes to fill in should be adjusted
    7. Save the document
    8. You have completed

If your document has been signed, you cannot change it. It should go in each text box, copy the text by highlighting it and paste it into another document, so you can read all about it.

    Hope this helps someone.

  • standard XI of Acrobat crashes when opening multiple files

I have recently installed Windows (64-bit) Enterprise 10 on PC Dell Optiplex 9010 with 16 GB of RAM as a clean install.  After you have reinstalled my Acrobat Standard XI registered version that came with my scanner Fujitsu, I'm UNABLE to OPEN SEVERAL PDF FILES at the SAME TIME because of the accident.

I ran the update - running 11.0.15 version.  I also changed the screen reader Options / Page vs Document "Only read the currently visible pages", but still crashes.

Does anyone know of another parameter that must be considered when running Windows 10 so that I can open several files at the same time without crashing?

YatharthS, I found the solution in another post.

    Solution:
    ...\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\plug_ins\
There are 3 files that you need to remove (or maybe just rar them so you always got them in case something goes wrong)
    Accessibility.API MakeAccessible.api, ReadOutLoud.api
(if this gives problems, simply delete the files with the same name and .xxx where xxx represents a certain language also)

  • Reader crashes when opening the pdf while UAC elevation

    Hello

I'm a developer who has a package installer for our software which, of course, requires UAC elevation to perform the installation.

On the last screen of the installer, we try to give the user the possibility to open a .pdf of our user manual.  Any other than .pdf format works very well, but Adobe Reader will not open, and once this has happened, Adobe Reader does not work at all until the user opens a session and return to.

Comments of the vendor of the package install (Setup factory):

    > >On Windows 8 and 8.1, Adobe Reader does not start correctly when it is called from the high count (after UAC has been shown and has been granted access). If you perform the same script from a facility that has been manifested to run "as applicant", you will see the PDF document opens correctly, which suggests that there is some kind of problem with the Adobe sandbox. If another application PDF, such as Foxit or SumatraPDF, is installed on the target computer and saved for the manipulation of PDF documents, you will see that the file opens correctly, even when the viewer of documents is launched, after the elevation of the user took.

This seems to be a bug in Adobe Reader?  Or am I missing something?

    Eve software postage

I'm not saying that it was designed to work that way, or that everything is fine. But it can be good for you (and me) to review, it's a good idea to run Adobe Reader unnecessarily high. Similar considerations apply to the choice that many installers are doing "run applications now?" at the end.

(Security scenario: lock PC.) Admin comes to install your software, between the password for UAC. Installation in competition, starts. The user now has a copy of Adobe Reader, where they can record in tight areas, perhaps compromising safety).

(Privileges Scenaro: elevation software creates a file of preferences, as an administrator.) Later runs, not high, can not overwrite the preferences file, leaving the user to have preferences).

(System scenario: I read that communication with the shell does not work for a higher app and shell not higher.) No further details).
