DDR3 memory (s) chip

I am awaiting delivery of a new office of h8 - 11520t want the chip generation with third i 7. It comes with a chip memory 8 gb DDR3 1600 MHz.

I have read that the DDR3 memory is two memory channels and only works using both channels if the chips of memory are installed in pairs. This single chip in my new computer will be slower due to having only a single chip; should I order a second chip?

Thanks for any advice.

Hello

You will certainly have a performance advantage if use you 2 x 8 GB Modules and I recommend certainly - your PC will have a maximum of 32 GB Ram (IE 4 x 8 GB Modules).  16 GB is a good compromise, since it offers a nice amount of memory running in dual channel, while the 2 empty slots for better cooling.

Best regards

    Say the user manual?
    Did you check that?

The support of memory depends on the chipset.
If the chipset does not support DDR3 so you cannot use it.
The chipset is Mobile Intel GM45 Express Chipset and AFAIK that support DDR2 800 MHz 8 GB max memory chipset.

    Hello:

Have you tried to install a new module of memory?

If so, you probably have a memory DDR3 1.5 volts.

You must ensure that the memory you put in this machine is DDR3L (1.35 volts).

  • How can you tell that your T400 has installed a DDR3 memory card?

    Hello world

I got my T400 off ebay last week, and I do not know if my T400 has installed because I had this T400 (2767bk1) DDR3 memory for $800 and it seems new, but in an open package. I'm here to ask for your help, maybe there is a software that can perform a test to determine the type of installed memory card. Please let me know if there is a solution, thank you.

    Welcome to the forum!

the T400 can accept as DDR3 modules.   no other module does physically fit in the slot.

  • OptiPlex 960 - can he use DDR3 memory?

I recently bought a lease Optiplex Dell 960MT.  It came with 2 GB memory DDR2, I need to increase.  I can get 8 GB of DDR3 for the same price as the 4 GB of DDR2 memory DDR2 prices are much higher than for DDR3 RAM.  According to the service manual Dell Optiplex 96, in 960 Opti chipset is 'Chipset Intel Q45 Express w/ICH10DO' http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/optix/en/desktop-optiplex-960-technical-guidebook-en.pdf . According to the specifications of Intel for the 960 Opti chipset, it can use DDR3 memory http://ark.intel.com/products/36527/82Q45-Graphics-and-Memory-Controller-Hub.  So, I found a few retailers who sell a refurbed Opti 960 which, claim, have the DDR3 memory in them http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Professional-Professionally-Refurbished-Refurbisher/dp/B0057GPUXE.  So is the Optiplex 960 able to use DDR3 and, if it is, what specs?

    Fails in a DDR2 DDR3 slot.

If the two are the exact same length and the number of pins, they have a different architecture.

Also the "notch" on the cylinder is in a different location, so you can't physically put DDR2 ram in one slot of DDR3, or vice versa.

  • DDR3 Memory on XP Confusion

I read the threads on this forum on the problems of upgrades memory ignoring 32 bit os on the T-400.  I had added the expensive new 4 GB of DDR3 memory in a memory port, with a stock of additional port with 1 GB of memory - what is 5 GB of physical memory total after the upgrade. Discussions of the forum I read confused me after the upgrade, so I called support to clarify my doubts as to whether my XP 32 bit system was in fact even using new expensive memory.

The question of support: fact the computer recognizes and uses memory f it is not displayed by the system XP? The short answer is Yes. The explanation was that os XP cannot display the memory beyond a certain level, but it uses all of the memory of ments. The explanation now means that the only way to see the memory XP reboot and press the F1 key to enter the bios, where the evidence of the newly installed memory is presented. After reading the posts on the forum, I wanted to request a refund on the memory, due to the high expense of DDR3, which seemed to have ignored the computer. I'm not entirely convinced that the memory is used, given that I continued to have problems with its collapse, perhaps due to a lack of memory (it made me make the RAM to buy). I trust support on my query response, since I am not notified relative to the testing of the evidence.

Well, I got an RMA number to return memory and had to settle on a 2 GB memory upgrade - to 3 GB. There should be some indication of memory compatibility issues, BEFORE the purchase is made. We are not all software engineers! When I ordered the memory on the Lenovo site, there is no mention of a conflict.

With respect to performance, I wanted the power of extra memory to edit movies, create graphics and make renderings 3d-all of which use a lot of memory. I was just told that for the money I spent on the computer ($2600 memory upgrade) that I could buy a top-of-range models W500. Of course, the return period had already expired! Lenovo give me a refund on the upgrade memory useless however. I only wish I had known about the W500, before buying the T400. It's boring to say the least.

  • Toshiba NB505-N500BL - DDR2 or DDR3 memory

    I just bought a NB505-N500BL.
I checked the label of netbook, and it doesn't have a D3.

    The module of memory installed is a Hynix 1 gb 2Rx16 PC2 - 6400 S-666-12.
    What is DDR2 or DDR3.

The guy at Best Buy told me to replace it with DDR3, but they had not at that time here.
I read that some come with DDR3 others not and I want to make sure that I get good memory.

    Hello

    Hynix 1 gb 2Rx16 PC2 - 6400 S-666-12 is the DDR2 module.

But as far as I know this laptop supports a single memory so you will need to take the old module and will need to insert another module.
But I put t see no big reasons to replace the memory.

OK, if you want to upgrade the memory up to 2 GB of RAM, so it would be to buy modules such as:
    Toshiba 2GB PC2 - 6400 DDR2 - 800 MHz Module
    Kingston KTT800D2 / 2G 2GB 800 MHz Module

Unfortunately, the DDR3 modules won't work.

  • The best upgrade for a HP g7-1150us laptop ddr3 memory? b

I recently got a HP laptop g7-1150us with 4 GB of ram.  I intend to upgrade the ram by adding another module of ram of 4 GB.  What is the best?  What is the laptop double channel capable?  I can't find anywhere what ram of 4 GB module comes stock?

Experience of entry would be welcome... Thank you.

This model has only 2 memory slots, has most likely 2x2gb modules installed and yes it is dual channel.

    It uses ram DDR3 10600 (1333 mhz)

I would buy a 8 GB kit (2x4gb modules) this is the maximum memory that can be installed in your model

  • HP ENVY Notebook m6-1105dx: question to DDR3L DDR3 memory upgrade

I have a laptop of HP ENVY m6-1105dx.

    I would like to upgrade from 1.5V to DDR3L 1.35v DDR3.

Is this possible without damage to my laptop?

    Thank you

    Joan

The upgrades only to memory that can be made to your laptop is installation of memory modules that are guaranteed compatible by a manufacturer of memory.

Your laptop is not like a mother gaming for a desktop computer. You are limited to the settings "protect me from myself" available in your BIOS. You cannot change the tension of memory to allow the motherboard to accept other modules of memory. Installation of memory with others that the specifications published by HP or other than guaranteed compatible memory modules will probably reward you with no experience to have fun a non laptop startup.

That said, I recommend you do a search on google for HP ENVY m6-1105dx memory upgrade. Stick with well-known brands to avoid surprises.
