RAM 2 GB DDR2 to 8 GB of DDR3 memory

I have a Compaq Presario CQ62-235SA comes with 2 GB of DDR2 RAM. I want to upgrade the RAM and did some internet research via the HP Web site.  I downloaded the technique and the notebook repair CQ62 where it suggests the laptop can support up to 8 GB of RAM DDR3 (see photo).

But elsewhere on the HP site speak it only supports up to 4 GB of DDR2 RAM.  (http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c02253963).

Please can you tell what is possible, I want to update to what is possible, but don't want to buy I can not use the RAM!

Dear customer,

Your device will be supported up to 4 GB memory DDR2. Please see the document below:

    Hello

The laptop supports Intel® 945 GM chipset.
This chipset supporting 533 MHz max.
So if you plug in modules of memory 667 MHz, the system would still works at 533 MHz.
The modules are DDR2 so I put t see any reasons why the dual channel does not work in your case.

    > On the HARD disk, what is the maximum capacity of the HARD drive that I cannot in stall in the same model because I have 1 TB, so it will work?

Laptop supports the SATA interface. The SATA controller has no limitation to the size of the HARD drive, so, theoretically, you should be able to use this large HDD but to be honest; I've never used this large HDD. The largest that I used in by cell phone was 500 GB and it was big enough.
However, you will need to test b e100% sure.

  • Toshiba NB505-N500BL - DDR2 or DDR3 memory

    I just bought a NB505-N500BL.
I checked the label of netbook, and it doesn't have a D3.

    The module of memory installed is a Hynix 1 gb 2Rx16 PC2 - 6400 S-666-12.
    What is DDR2 or DDR3.

The guy at Best Buy told me to replace it with DDR3, but they had not at that time here.
I read that some come with DDR3 others not and I want to make sure that I get good memory.

    Hello

    Hynix 1 gb 2Rx16 PC2 - 6400 S-666-12 is the DDR2 module.

But as far as I know this laptop supports a single memory so you will need to take the old module and will need to insert another module.
But I put t see no big reasons to replace the memory.

OK, if you want to upgrade the memory up to 2 GB of RAM, so it would be to buy modules such as:
    Toshiba 2GB PC2 - 6400 DDR2 - 800 MHz Module
    Kingston KTT800D2 / 2G 2GB 800 MHz Module

  • 2.4 Gb RAM is usable out of the 6 GB installed memory

I recently move my memory (RAM) 2 GB, 6 GB by adding 4 GB one. When I go on the computer properties, I found that just 2.46 GB is used. How can I make use of the entire 6 GB RAM? IM using Lenovo W500 running Windows 7 32 bit Ultimate edition.

    THX

    Cath

Adding RAM is not just a question of 32-bit or 64-bit. There are two other factors to consider. You can meet the limitations imposed by the motherboard. The limit for your computer is 8 MB, even for a 64-bit operating system. You should also check that the version of Windows is not limited. -see the table in the following link:

  • Upgrade of RAM for Studio 1557 up to 8 GB DDR3 1600 MHz

    Hello

I bought 2 pieces of RAM Kingston 4 GB DDR3 1600 MHz memory and I assmbled in my Dell Studio 1557. However, when I type F2 and verify installation, we show that the speed of the memory is 1333 MHz!

How can I gain speed 1600 MHz memory RAM that I bought and installed on my Dell Studio 1557. I use my laptop computer for purposes of design using AutoCAD and 3D MAX and it is really necessary for me to use the speed of RAM 1600 MHz or higher.

    My BIOS version is A09.

    Kind regards

    Correction, which affects the rest:

The system has two memory - not four.

You can replace one with a 4G and have six or the two with a pair of 4G to 8 total.

You must also have a 64-bit operating system or memory beyond 4 g may not be recognized.

  • Pavilion g7-1110so and max RAM

    Hello!
I have this laptop g7 Pavilion 1110so (LS448EA). I have the 4 GB Samsung SO - DIMM DDR3 1333 memory stick. I bought Kingston 4 Gb memory stick with the same specifications. After installation of memtest shows that I have two sticks of memory of samsung with the same part numbers. But my BONES began to gel and force closing apps (the same on linux and windows - the two 64-bit).  I run memtest and it shows errors in the addresses between 7000 MB and MB 8100. I updated the BIOS F.66 and tried to change sticks in slots, but it did not help. There are specifications on the site on this laptop, where it is said that ' 4 GB RAM and is upgradabe to 4 GB of DDR3 memory. I looked in the manual for the mobile pavillion g7 and it is said that the RAM is 8192 MB.

The question is is this laptop supports up to 8192 MB?

    Hello:

Yes, your laptop should be able to take 2 x 4 Go PC3-8500 or 10600 memory, but you must ensure that the memory you get has 8 small chips black on each side of the Board, not 4.

See this thread below for more information...

  • Aspire desktop TC-220

I just bought your desktop TC220 with 12 GB of ram, 1st slot machine has 4 GB of ddr3 memory, 2nd slot has 8 GB of ddr3 ram, seems a weird combination, but I want to add som ram so move th 8 GB slot 3 and buy 4 GB memory ddr3 for the 2nd slice. not sure how to ensure I get the best bang for my money.

    Thank you

you will probably see not a big difference having 4 + 8 GB or 8GB configuration 8 +... at least until that your system will pass not the limit of 4 GB of the smallest stick, after that your system will operate as single channel (try to use the only other the 4 GB available ram).

In order to have 8 + 8 GB your system will be more stable and better performance when you go over 4 GB (photo/video editing and modern 3D games will do).

on the same manufacturer, yes it will be better for stability.

  • Anyone using DDR2 - 800 MHz PC2 - 6400 RAM on a Dimension E520?

    I have a 8-y-o Dimension E520 with a CPU Q6600 and 4 GB of RAM PC2-5300 DDR2 - 667 MHz.

Max RAM is 8 GB so I did research what type of RAM would maximize the expected gain in speed.

According to this articleand this one as this thread of Dell, the E520 can accept RAM PC2-6400 DDR2 - 800 MHz.

In addition, in accordance with this sheet of Intel chipset 965 on the motherboard will have DDR2-800 MHz RAM.

I have noticed however that a sweep Crucial suggested DDR2-667 PC2-5300, like upgrading RAM later.

By no means discouraged, I advanced and bought 4 sticks of 2 GB of RAM DDR2-800 PC2-6400 Non ECC Unbuffered of 240 pins.

Then, installed the new RAM and started in the BIOS. Of course, the 8 GB of RAM is recognized.

Then started to Ubuntu. However, the initialization has failed before he arrived at the office.

Then started to Windows 7 (on the same machine, multiboot). Yet once again, began to start Desktop but bluescreened before that he (0 x 00000019 which seems to refer to the memory problem)

Reinstall all the RAM sticks and tried again with the same result.

Replaced the 4 GB of RAM has low gear and everything was fine.

So, is the RAM purchased dubious quality or not my E520 simply not accept RAM DDR2 - 800 MHz?

In the interest of anyone else might have the same problem or similar, I put the 4 sticks of RAM to the reseller and received four sticks of replacements of the same specification.

And they work perfectly in my Dimension E520.

Thus, in response to my original question, the absence of start-up stems from a faulty RAM.

  • Compatibility RAM with Satellite M70 354

    Hello

    I have the laptop model Toshiba Satellite M70-354 with Samsun 2 * 512 MB RAM DDR2 * pre-installed.
    There is the description on RAM - * DDR PC2 4200 *.

I want to up-grade/replace my RAM to 2 GB.
I brought again * 2 GB of RAM of the Transcend.
    Disription written the i.e. - * DDR2 667 *.

I want to know that i * s this RAM is compatible * with my laptop?

Can someone provide me with support on the same?

    Thank you

    Chirag

Machine tender specifications for this old compatible RAM modules are:
    DDR2 400/533 256 MB (PA3389U - 1 M 25)
    512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51)
    1 GB OF DDR2 400/533 (PA3411U-1M1G)

If you want to use max supported 2 GB I recommend to use 2 x 1 GB (PA3411U-1M1G).
These modules are tested and 100% compatible.

  • Satellite X 200-bet to level to 4 GB of RAM or more

SODIMM DDR2 800 2 x 4 GB are supported? Manual says up to 4GB but is ambiguous as this total or per slot?

Did anyone tried 2 x 4 GB with 64-bit Vista or Windows 7?

    Hello

I checked the specifications of the chipset on the Intel site, and I think the user manual means a maximum capacity of RAM of 4 GB and not for each slot.

Furthermore, I founded the part number for Toshiba RAM (2 Go DDR2-667):
    PA3513U-1M2G

  • Satellite Pro A100 - it does not recognize 4 GB of RAM

    Hello
today I purchased two 2 GB RAM Corsair DIMMS (DDR2 - 667 mhz) for my Satellite Pro A100.

After that I updated the BIOS it detected the 4 GB of RAM, but the balance of RAM on the boot prompt checks only 3 GB of RAM. So I can use only 3 GB of RAM (I use ubuntu 64 as an operating system). When I try to RAM into another laptop, it works perfectly. A memtest86 + says check: no error. When I plug in a dimm in the laptop, it is correctly detected as a 2 GB dimm module (tested two DIMMs into the two slots on motherboard)

Anyone else seen this behavior? For me, it looks like a limitation or a bug in the version of the BIOS.

    (The processor supports 64-bit (core2duo t5500))

    Hello

What Satellite Pro A100 you have exactly?
As far as I know that some models can only be upgraded to 2 GB of RAM.

It's really not easy to say what is the reason for this because I m confused on the subject of what the BIOS recognize the 4 GB of RAM, but not the boot prompt.
I'm not sure that maybe the modules are not compatible with your laptop. You can test other modules?

    Welcome them

  • Satellite M60-169: BSOD appears after upgrade RAM to 1.5 GB

    Hello

    Satellite M60-169 got 1 GB DDR2 Samsung 533 MHz RAM-Modules (2x512MB).
    Now, I have installed a new 1 GB DDR2 Samsung 533 MHz RAM-Module (1x1024MB + orig. 1x512mo = 1, 5 GB memory)

The problem is: the system reboots before you start Windows XP or Windows Vista.
Reinstaling 2x512MB Modules: everything works fine.
Reinstall the new 1 GB Module: blue screen and reboot. :(

I tested the memory modules with memtest86 Boot-CD and all DD2-Modules work and produce no errors.
Why the new RAM is not compatible with the laptop?

The specifications of the new 1024 MB of RAM is: Samsung 1 GB 2Rx8 PC2-4200-444-12-E3 M470T2953CZ3-CD5 double sided
The specifications of the orig. 512 MB of RAM is: double-Samsung 512 MB 2Rx16 PC2-4200-444-12-A3-M470T6554CZ3-CD5

Very strange! The RAM is like the original equipped with RAM.
    Is this a BIOS problem?
If I don't just install a single module of 512 MB, the system starts without any problem. Even if I install only a single modulue of the new 1 GB of RAM, the system does not boot to Windows.

There may be a BIOS Solution for this problem in the future?, now more installed new BIOS (1.60).

    BR Pappl

    Hello

I don t think the BIOS problem.
In my opinion, there is a problem with the RAM modules.
The new module of memory is default or it s just not compatible.

Perhaps the mix of RAM is the reason for BSOD interruptions.
Have you tried to use only the new 1 GB module?
    Check it out.

I have additional checked the Web from Toshiba site Options & accessories and according to the news, you must use this memory module 1 GB:
    1 GB OF DDR2 400/533 (PA3411U-1M1G)

  • Can I use a module of RAM 2 GB in Satellite M105-S1021

My TECRA stopped with the BSoD (on another thread) and I had to leave my old Satellite M105 - S1021 and try and get it going again.

First problem was running PRO XP without service pack and it was a * LEGAL * XP home upgrade - tries to install the SP, I received the product key was not valid message - cannot find the CD of XP Pro I used I called MS Support (sounded like in India) and vain - I expected to be provided with a valid key BUT NO! Why MS play the stupid guys like that on a software product is stupid IMHO and brief overview just puts a bad taste in the mouth and make me want to go to UBUNTU LINUX.

So I had to search in a room full of hardware and PC (sad hoarder I have still a few BACK/WIN 95/98 machines) until I found a CD of XP PRO with a product key if I had XP PRO installed on this Satellite laptop and installed the latest SP

BUT then I discovered that this laptop as well as it having previously PRO XP without a service Pack installed, there only 448 MB of RAM installed.

Looking at the memory Crucial site they recommend an upgrade to 2 GB BUT it's 1 GB x 2. Opening the door of memory I see that I don't have that one not slot the two connectors.
An upgrade to 2GB created using two modules of 1 GB Mem is therefore not possible.

    So my Question is:
Can I upgrade to 2 GB using a slot OR slots on this L/T only able to take modules 1 GB Mem - I guess as I can / could get a module DDR2 PC2 - 5300 Mem.

OR only can I put in a single module of 1 GB Mem.

Can you please first tell us we are discussing here on laptop Tecra or your old Satellite M105 - S1021?

For the Satellite M105-S1021 I found follow the news:

    Memory5

-256MB (min) / 2048MB (max), 512 MB of memory accessible service more accessible by the user memory available slot for 256 MB, 512 MB or 1024 MB DDR2 PC4200 533 MHz SDRAM.
