Dead hard drive and no product key to reinstall

I'm fixing my brother who had the HD from laptop. The guarantee was until a year ago so I'll buy a new HD online and it will be there Friday. Unfortunately, he pulled the windows product key sticker, so now that there is no product key. What should I do now?

just to be sure check the battery compartment. If the COA disappeared there are two choices. purchase of a new license or if windows was preinstalled, then you can order your manufacturer OEM recovery disks. (no key needed, because the OEM SLP key is embedded).

I just replaced my hard drive on my computer and went through the installation process. I have a legitimate version of windows that was recorded before. This is the same computer, but I can't find my product key for Finnish installation. I tried to call, but the given number cannot be reached in my region... apparently. Is there some way that since then I taped the product key can be recovered? I really need this for school so the sooner the better.

I was searching the Internet and ran across this site: http://windowskeymarket.com they do not always have the key I was looking for this is why I missed it before, it really depends on if they are in the stem. This time they did it. Thanks for the help!

my hard is damaged in some portion.can, I changed the new hard drive and reinstall Windows vista with the existing product key?

    Hello

Yes, you can reinstall vista with your product key on the new hard drive

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

  • How to install the new hard drive and windows key?

    Hello

    I have a aspire v5-121-c72g32nkk.
I have just updated to Windows 10, don't panic, but I want to upgrade my HD drive to a SSD drive.

You can find the steps to do this?
Windows was preinstalled, how I reinstall on another drive?
I have no serial key or whatever it is.
I'm a bit lost, you have an idea?

    Best,

There are several ways to do this, anyone have product keys, since

If you want to do a clean install:

Windows 7-8 - 8.1 keys are embeeded on your BIOS

Windows 10 use a generic key during the upgrade, so just skip the steps questions about a product key and the first time you connect on the web, it will authenticate to.

    You must decide:

    (1) do a clean install of your operating system to factory

    (2) make a disk - image of the system image and reload

    (3) to do a clean install of windows 10

option 2 is the fastest at the end, as you create a copy of your HARD drive and reload it to your PC.

you need a bootable windows 10 (USB or DVD) media and little space on external HARD drive.

Then restart and reinstall the update from here - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971033

redemarrer restart again, then try to change your product key to the one on the sticker - what is happening this time?
