Deal of the day RSS reader Flash

I need to design a widget flash for MySpace that reads an RSS and shows just the last write. I saw RSS feeds flash widgets before, but they show all entries. I need to check every day at 01:00 for a new and loaded automatically from a third party site (feedburner). I have some knowledge of flash, but none in actionscript. I use the Creative Suite CS4. I'm a quick learner, so please explain in depth if I get the concept.

Thanks in advance for any help.

If you have no programming experience it will be probably not easy to follow, but here's a shot at explaining things...

Your RSS has some introductory information and then a bunch of 's. Each element consists of a, a
and a

When one reads in the xml file, its data is stored in a variable named xml (assigned in line: xml = new XML (e.target.data);)

If you place a trace command after that, you can see all the data stored in this variable: trace (xml);

Then the
within these data are stored in a variable named it (assigned in the line: var it: XMLList = xml.channel.item ;))

Again, if you draw this variable, you will see that it only stores the item data. Each element contains 3 properties as mentioned earlier, and two of these properties are affected in a component with an instance name lb list box (I guess that's a list box). If you look at the code, you can see where it stores the title property of each element as the list box label and the description of each property data associated with each label.

for (var i: uint = 0; i<il.length();></il.length();>
{
lb.addItem({data:il.description.text() [i], label:il.title.text()[i]});)
}

So if the description property is acquired via: il.description.text ([i]) and the title is acquired via: il.title.text ([i]), so I hope you can see that il.link.text () [i] will give you the link values.

Now I don't know what your plans are to show the links, but you said that you wanted to show the description then the link, so for now, just change the code as follows, and when you view the description of the link will be added at the end:

for (var i: uint = 0; i<il.length();></il.length();>
{
lb.addItem({data:il.description.text() [i] +»- <a href="/"%20il.link.text()[i" rel="external nofollow noreferrer">url:"+il.link.text() [i], label:il.title.text()[i]});)
}

  • Is the function of "Subscribe to this Page" by default in Firefox, an RSS reader?

    Hello world

    Does anyone know if the "Subscribe to this Page" feature by default in Firefox is an RSS reader?

    For example, I want to subscribe to some articles, etc, and my research has suggested I install Feedly (https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/ad.../feedly/), I have now. However, I have noticed while playing that in Firefox, the feature to subscribe to a page offers this too - but is equivalent to the function of Firefox an RSS reader?

    Thanks in advance

  • How to read the date of the day of the day of the year?

    I want to put 30 days for the test of endurance for the application of the components. the user will have the current value of 30 days with specify them the end of the day.

    I saw that the "seconds to Date/Time.vi" sure I checked the day of the year. If I can use this day of the year, I can add + 30 read 30 date.

    Barros,

    What I gave was the answer you were looking for originally because I believe. You will not just be able to read the date in a coherent way and then add 30. You can either use the function Get time in seconds or a few varaint it and then add the offset you want (you could use the get a Date/time string and enter the date directly, but this digital conversion which will be useful in the monitoring of the time elapsed will be much more difficult than what I provided only). If you want to stop the test, simply to keep track of the amount of time the test is in pause and extension at the time where that amount.

  • How do you know the speed of read/write of a flash drive?

    Who knows a program to read/write speed?

    Hi Cristi,

    Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

    An indication of the standard flash drives read/write speeds is the following:

    USB 2.0:

    Sequential write speed range = 4-10 MB/S

    Sequential read speed range = 15 to 25 MB/S

    USB 3.0:

    Sequential write speed range = upto20 MB/S

    Sequential read speed range = upto45 MB/S

    These reading and writing speeds offer a guide to the read/write Flash Drive performance and have been identified in recent tests. Please note that we are changing the components USB Flash Drive at any time based on the availability and cost. This means that the read/write speeds above cannot be guaranteed.

    You can use your favorite search engine to search for this application that measures the speed of read/write of flash drives.

  • Don't make a left click or close the popup settings for Flash Player local storage

    New book from Surface, 200% display scaling. cannot left click or close the popup of local storage settings Flash Player (which is not scaled). Make a right click works, but cannot get rid of blocked dialogue. I see people saying Flash dialogues only work with the scaling to screen 100%, but this would make the screen of 3000 x 2000 pretty unusable. Is there a better solution?

    I just ordered a couple for the team the other day. It took some time for our supplier of equipment start their storage.

    These dialog boxes are problematic for a number of reasons. I'd love to see them disappear entirely. In most cases, what you run is our protection fromclickjacking anti - being overzealous. Flash Player is in an uncomfortable position, where it is difficult to ensure that we are the object of above and that our security dialogue box is not obscured by something malicious that tries to make you click on it. This is particularly problematic if the dialog box appears on things that move, such as video. Fixed bugs in the logic of clickjacking is a game of whack-a-mole, so usually set us on a config and finds that he has beaten another combination of factors of density/zoom screen/resolution.

    The best way to deal with the situation is to simply stop the dialog box to display in the first place. The days when disabling Local Shared Objects in Flash you bought anything in terms of protection personal information are over long - HTML5 provides much more powerful functions to develop behavioral followed resilience. The best approach in trying to stay private is to use only the browser incognito-private browsing mode. This tricks Flash into thinking it has access to whatever he wants to write, but it happens in a temporary directory that is destroyed when you exit the private browsing session.

    Since Flash Player think actually that it runs with rein in Incognito mode, without dialog boxes to throw (unless you have set the default privacy preferences in the drive). Incognito mode is far superior to management of granular controls of the Flash, because it also beats the approaches to monitoring of client - side HTML5 equivalent * and * is not usually degrade the user experience. We do also some extra stuff to help the hurt to do server side footprints, like turning a very minimal list, sorted by alphabetical order of the policies in Incognito mode. If you're curious about what can be done exclusively on the coast Server (and want to be depressed), check out https://panopticlick.eff.org/.

    Anyway, for this purpose, you can configure Flash Player to always allow sites to store local shared objects, or you can allow it on a site-by-site basis if it is a site of particular video or something that gives you consistent headaches.

    To do this, go to control panel > Flash Player > storage and choose an option.

    It is also interesting to note that there is a lot of superstition there since the beginning of the 1990s on the 'Flash Cookies' / shared/LSO local objects that holds true anymore.

    When you clear the cache of your browser, we remove our LSO. The feature was scheduled for things like game save data and caching assets, but some smart marketing people find it useful to backup the data in the cookie of the user store, so that they had followed who survived a user to delete their cookies. While the unfortunate and embarrassing, we corrected for a long time that, by adopting a behavior that we believe best match user expectations. Unfortunately, once you get the stench on you, it is difficult to reverse.

    Hope that helps!

  • I'm a little confused about the presentation of the day, the Site of Adobe.

    You can only if compiled with the Muse? Where can you submit a side already built with the code?

    The sites in the Site Gallery Of The Day www.adobekb.com are sites of Muse. Several contain HTML embed code for maps, Twitter RSS, video, analytics, forms, etc., which can be simply copied/pasted in the mode Design of Muse. Some contain animations created and place/imported edge animate or Flash Pro.

    We do of our best to screen the site of winners day to exclude sites that have been achieved by editing the HTML generated by Muse after export, given that this workflow requires hand coding that isn't what Muse. Code embed of sites including copied/pasted or small code snippets inserted in theSection of the Page within Muse properties are very well.

    A few caveats

    (1) we recently removed a site which has relied on the hand of edition after export of Muse, who either did not contain this code when the price has been granted, or we lack.

    (2) authors of sites are likely to change their designs after the granting of this award, so the site linked to may not be the exact site/code which received the honours of the Site Of The Day.

    If you see a site in the gallery and are intrigued by the way it was created with Muse, ask about it here. I am sure that the community would be happy to answer and discussion would be education for all.

  • RSS RSS Reader - multiple signals... Help

    First of all, let me explain that I am a designer and tend to struggle with the code. However, I was making a serious effort to learn AS3 and have had some unexpected success... until I met this obstacle.

    I used the following code to create an RSS reader that works almost exactly as I had hoped. I can load and parse the stream, transmit data to an object and assign the various node data to dynamic elements on the stage (for simplicity, I have only included 2 items here, item (title_txt) title and Title (feed_txt) to power.) I have created 2 buttons (Prev element, the order of the day) to advanced by the tags of the element in the XML file and update step accordingly. It all works perfectly.

    Where I ran into trouble, when I try to add the ability to scroll through several FLOW RSS, update the data of my XML object and update the elements on the stage. As you can see in my code, I created a button called 'Next Feed' that I use to scroll through the elements of an array (rssArray) containing all the RSS feeds.

    As the code currently reads, (I have commented the code that creates and calls the function to load the new stream) 'Next Feed' button correctly to advance to the next flow and updates the appropriate variables. (the 'trace' confirmed) However when I comment the 'feed update' works and call it, hell breaks loose.

    I am sure that I created a sort of involuntary loop where the guard function loading himself in itself because the first time that the function is called, it is called 1 time (and the scene is updating the way I expect). But each time consecutive as I click on the 'next feed' button, the function "updateItem" is called an extension. (that is to say, the function is called 2 times, then 3 times, then 4, etc.)

    I guess when I'm trying to do is to replace the old data in the object xmlLoader with new data from the following power in the table. I feel like I'm really close or approaching this coming from a direction completely false. I tried everything I thought 'should' work and am now ideas. That's why I decided to come here in the hope that a set of charges eyes could see what Miss me.

    I apologize for the hike, but I hope that I was clear. If I don't have it, ask me and I'll try to clarify.

    Thank you for taking the time to look at this, and I would be very grateful for any help you can provide.

    Greg

    When you reload the xml file and the loading ends, the LoadXML function is recalled. This function adds earphones of additional events for the buttons and it is originally the results you see. See the corrected code:

  • My RSS reader captures all of my favorites

    My RSS reader (in a nutshell) does not pick up all my feeds. specifically, it does not pick up those with dotted square instead of logos in the label box. that means these squares, and how repair my drive to pick up?

    Thank you.

    Roger Blair

    These first three items in the library have the generic icon by default and are not recognized as feed items, so their location (URL) may be damaged or is not link to a feed page.
    You can check by opening the three links in tabs to see what happens.

  • Plugin Flash will not install even after installing the latest version of Flash

    When I go to a site that contains Flash content, it says "a plugin is required to view this content" and there is a link to install the plugin. In addition, there is a message at the top of the page that says "additional plugins are required to display all the media on this page" with an option to "Install missing Plugins". I click on the link to install the missing plugin, and a dialog box appears that says "the following plugins are available: ' and 'Adobe Flash Player 11.0.1.152' lists with a checkbox next to it. The box is checked, and I click on 'Next' to install. He's going through the motions and then told me that 'no plugins were installed. There is a link to manually install the plugin, which brings me to the Adobe's Flash download page. I unchecked the box for pair McAfee Security download and downloaded the latest version of Flash (to be honest, I downloaded actually this exact version even about 10 times today). The dialog box appears, I save the file and once it has downloaded, open the folder that contains (my downloads folder). I then, close all programs (including Firefox) except for the folder of Windows Explorer I want to run the installer from. I double-click the Flash Installer to perform the installation. The installation process is complete, the installer tells me that the download is successful, and my browser opens upward with a message "Successful Installation" from the Adobe Web site. Yay! My installation is successful... Orrrrrr not. Return to the page with the Flash media - always have a message saying that I need the plugin. Try to download plugin once again... no dice.

    THEN, I go to "Manage my Add-ons" thinking maybe I need to activate the plugin. There is no plugin Flash (or Shockwave) listed on any of the menus - it is as if it does not exist.

    I downloaded the latest version of Java because I read somewhere that Flash requires Java work; I installed the "add-on Compatibility Reporter" so I could force Java to be enabled. It made no difference whatsoever, best I can tell.

    I also went to the Adobe homepage where you can see what version of Flash you use (http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/) and it does not even show that I have installed Flash. In Internet Explorer, it shows that I have installed Flash, but it's the previous version (but this is probably due to the fact that I downloaded Flash in Mozilla, not IE, and they use different modes in each browser - so an update that you download from a browser does not necessarily apply to the other browser).

    So in summary: I don't know what on Earth is wrong here, but I'm about as frustrated that I've never been in my life. I don't know why the installation of Adobe Flash is said she is successful (it sleeps for me?), but there is no plugin appear in my menu manage add-ons, and I googled all the possible combinations of content in this message and have not found a solution that works yet.

    It seems that you have found the 64-bit version of Flash. Is your Windows 7 64-bit?

    I did read your entire post, but NPSWF64_11_1_102.dll which is Flash 64-bit; This turns into a novel when it should have been a short story.

    First, uninstall all Flash your system by following these instructions from Adobe

    Second, get the 32-bit versions of the following. Why? Unless you use an unofficial Firefox 64-bit version, the regular Firefox is a 32-bit browser and needs 32-bit Flash.

    Third, test Flash on websites where you had a problem before.

    If this does not work, my last suggestion for you is to follow the instructions from Adobe for troubleshooting. I don't know what's happening with your system, which could possibly be the cause of the problem.

    If this answer solved your problem, please click 'Solved It' next to this response when connected to the forum.
