Nightly icon does not appear in Debian GNOME SHELL
Hi, I'm Tiago.
The Nightly icon does not appear on GNOME 3. I used Ubuntu and it works very well. But now, I use Debian with GNOME 3 and after extract the .tar and create the 'Nightly.desktop (necessary to pin the menu icon)", the icon does not appear (look at the screenshot below).
But also, I only am not settled every night my default browser.
then so are the bugs? I have to report? What can I do?
Grateful for the support and sorry for my bad EnglishThis also happens with the developer edition of Firefox (channel Aurora)?

I'm having a problem on one computer associated with the connection of the Bank.
Debian Iceweasle 38.1 StretchI've erased ~/.mozilla have no addons or extensions.
If I connect to the Bank as usual, I get "secure connection failed" chrome I get the page has been reset.
If I connect using a new private window it connects OK.
I have a laptop with a similar configuration that does not have this problem.
I renewed ca-certificates, and I don't see what else to change. It is not a Firefox problem as chrome also fails, but if you have an idea of what other common cause that I should be grateful if you would.
a google search resulted with the mode private by someone whith a problem in chrome and an incognito mode suggested comentor.
So I tried a window private Iceweasle and it worked. Tried not to chrome, like I installed it only for this problem!
Thank you very much for everything.
Do you know which version of Firefox your Iceweasel is from? Looks like that the "ESR" version of Firefox, but may have some differences in default behavior...
Maybe the problem is caused by the site you recognizing cookies already together?
You can use the network (menu Developer) monitor to monitor changes of redirects:
I start by opening the network monitor in the lower part of the regular tab, then try to load the site tab and look at where are the requests and the breakpoint. If nothing appears, maybe use the Firefox cache, and you can erase that by following the steps in this article: How to clear the cache of Firefox.
Then open a private window, open network monitor in this tab and try to load the site and look at where to go applications.
Any difference?

How to install on Debian 8 Tbird
I want to install Tbird, not Icedove, on 8 Debian, but get failures.
The most recent is
"XPCOMGlueLoad error for file /home/frank/thunderbird/libxul.so:
libXcomposite.so.1: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory was not able to load XPCOM. »
when executing "thunderbird/thunderbird" in the home folder.
The output of "uname - a" is "Linux AcerNetbook 3.16.0 - 4-amd64 SMP 3.16.7 - ckt11-1 Debian #1 (2015-05-24) x86_64 GNU/Linux.
I run Tbird successfully on 8 Debian on an older i386 system, but I don't remember the steps that I've lived.
I think that it is a fairly common condition, so there may be an answer somewhere, but after several days, I have not found one.
Suggestions gratefully accepted.
You try to run Thunderbird 32-bit or 64-bit? Since you have 64-bit Linux.

One solution for lack of options to search bar of Linux in distributions based on Debian.
All search options and the ability to add/remove/edit and get more missing.
I uninstalled Firefox for political reasons in April, then reinstalled (after some research convinced me that my protest was better elsewhere.) The search bar has failed.
All this has failed:
> sudo apt - get remove firefox
> sudo apt - get install firefox
> sudo dpkg - reconfigure firefox
> rm - Rvf ~/mozilla/firefox*
Menu-> help-> troubleshooting [reset Firefox] or [Open Directory]SOLUTION:
When you search for dpkg version numbers, I noticed two packs for firefox
> dpkg-l | grep firefox
II firefox 29.0.1 amd64 Firefox web browser
RC 29.0.1 firefox-solydxk-settings all settings of Firefox for SolydXK> man dpkg
has confirmed my suspicions that solydxk for firefox settings may have been broken by removing and installing firefox. (rc indicated, or installed properly uninstalled).> sudo apt - get remove firefox-solydxk-adjustments
> sudo apt - get install firefox-solydxk-adjustmentsEverythings works now. dpkg shows the two packages installed correctly.
> dpkg-l | grep firefox
II firefox 29.0.1 amd64 Firefox web browser
II firefox-solydxk-fits 29.0.1 all adjustments of Firefox for SolydXKI don't know how many forks of Debian (Solyd, mint, Ubuntu, Librenet, etc.) could be affected in the same way, but I thought I'd get it out there since I know at least a mint user he saw elsewhere last March.

Hello
Try to isolate the printer, remove the printhead, inks, connectivity cables and turn on the printer.
If the error persists, it may be a problem with the APC hand.

The laptop works very well in dual boot with Windows 7 and Linux Debian 8.2 (Jessie).

The Xorg server dies, killing all programs and user processes and start the KDM login prompt. It connect new, all continue to work until the next Youtube movie embedded in a site or things like that.
Other than that, all the features and video modes work.
Any help to solve this problem?Thank you

Designjet T120: Can't trace file size D (T120)-specific PDF drawing
Hi all
Having problems trying to draw a PDF specific drawing D-size (SolidWorks saves) on our plotter T120. It plots just fine in the sizes A, B and C, but when I try D, it just hangs, then times out with an error. I tried to update drivers, run the HP diagnostic utility, run the utility from Microsoft, etc. but nothing seems to work. I traced several other designs in the past in D format without any problem (tried a while ago with a different design of PDF and it worked fine). Looking for ideas...
In which case it is important:
* Wireless printing
* The PDF file size is 1.30 MB (spools up quickly to 13.4MB/15.7MB then crashes)
Thanks, Jeff

I was not able to get the flash player since the upgrade to FF 7.0.1 on Debian Linux. I followed the instructions in "How do you install the Flash plugin? (https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/installing-flash) several times.
As I said this is a problem since the last update. I was able to get flash working in earlier versions. Flash works in the Debian version of FF "Iceweasel".
You are running a version of Firefox 32 bit or a version of Firefox 64 bit-to-bit?
You must use the same Flash plug-in to make it work (32 bit Flash with 32-bit Firefox).

Black and white print about 8 to 20 pages size 24 "x 36" each time, we recently bought a T120 for occasional use, from 3 to 6 times per month. We keep the power off when not in service. Ink cartridges going dry because of our occasional use? Power on a few minutes cycle ink cartridges and keep them from drying out?
Hello
Ink cartridges ink don't dry out.
But, since you keep the printer off you will have problems with the print head
When the printer is not in use it to go to sleep, wake up from time to time to do maintenance to the print head and then go back to sleep.
If this maintenance is not done, the nozzles on the printhead will dry out.
You can do a printhead cleaning for it, but eventually, they will get a State were they could be back and you need to replace the print head.

AmelHi, Amel
What version of Debian do you use?
This probably comes as a Debian version does not yet support your hardware. You can use to test a live version of the latest Ubuntu (including parents), OpenSuse or Fedora.
Those who use kernels later than Debian in general and can take charge of newer hardware.

Satellite A300-1EI: Debian Linux does not detect DVD drive
Hello guys,.
I am trying to install Debian debian-40r5, but the first issue I encountered is that the DVD is not detected correctly and the system setup program is not loaded.
What happens is...1. start the program installation of Linux and its load.
2. I am invited for selections of region/language/KB. Then when debian tries to detect the drives, the dvd is not detected, and I am asked to load the driver manually. I tried to load the drivers in the installer, but without success. If anyone knows how to load the appropriate driver, please me advice.
Thanks in advance,
Ahmed OsamaThanks for the comments!

Hello!
I am an owner L750. I have for you the question, if there is no obstacle to the installation of Debian on it?
The thing is that you won't need the additional drivers that only work on Windows?Currently, I have a lot of default software of Toshiba (on my laptop).
I want to make sure, because I am writing this to you.The fact is that Linux OS is not supported by Toshiba with Debian, you're on your own.
If possible, try to find a Linux forum and try to exchange experiences or ask for good advice there.I hope that some experts will be able to help and assist you.
