Debugging/fixing a mistake svhost.exe?

Greetings,

After having inserted a USB on a PC hard drive, I started to get error svchost.exe at the end of the boot sequence. I scanned the log file, but the messages are not clear for me. Can someone give me some advice on how to debug or fix this problem? Replace the executable from another machine without svchost.exe problem would work?

Thank you.

Jean-Pierre

Hello dareys,

1. are you able to start the computer in front of the error screen?

I suggest that you try the methods below to resolve this issue:

Method 1:

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned in the article below and let us know if it works or not.

You receive an error message after a Windows XP-based computer runs an automatic update, and you may be unable to run any programs after the closure of the "svchost.exe - Application error" error message dialog box

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/927385

Method 2:

Step 1:

In safe mode, check if the problem occurs.

a. restart and keep tapping F8 until you reach the start menu.

b. Select safe mode from the boot menu and press ENTER.

c. check if the issue persists.

If it doesn't happen in safe mode, and then perform a clean boot.

Step 2:

I suggest you do a clean boot and check if the problem occurs. Follow the steps mentioned in the article below.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Method 3:

I suggest that you do a SFC (System File Checker) analyze and check whether the problem is resolved. Follow the steps mentioned in the article below.

Microsoft does not automatically contact you if you send details of error for them.  They use these reports to see what types of questions are trending and those that are trending upwards looked at herself.  The rest cannot.

And your daughter has been very wise - the call she received WAS a scam and she did well to cling to their topic.  Microsoft never call you unless you call them first, and they tell you that they will call back.

  • "Certificate expired" errors - my clock was bad, but it's fixed now, mistakes still happen

I recently reinstalled windows 8.1 and started from scratch with firefox. My clock of the computer somehow obtained a day before in the process, so all my browsers gave me errors. I fixed the date and all other browsers are fine, but Firefox still gives me "this connection is not approved - user certificate has expired" whenever it tries to load a site https (even google).

I tried to erase everything in Firefox, up to and including completely uninstall and reinstall and it is still giving me these errors, fresh out of the installer, with the time / the correct date on the clock. Help?

Edit to add: good... so I put my clock forward a new day, and the errors went away (for firefox, they returned in other browsers). And then I put it back again, and mistakes had disappeared, but only on sites that I visited while the clock was wrong. I guess that this imposes a kind of site by site reset or something? I still want to know what caused it, however, so I don't have to change the date of my computer whenever I visit a new https: site in firefox.

Edit 2: and... I have to go and do again for each site every time I close and re-open firefox.

If you haven't already done so, could you try to rename the Firefox certificate store file, cert8.db, so a new startup of Firefox? Here's how:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various settings files.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Break while Firefox finishing his cleaning, then rename cert8.db to something like cert8.old (Note: If your Windows does not display the .db extension, you can enable the display of file extensions using the steps described in this article: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wi.../show-hide-file-name-extensions)

Launch Firefox back up again. You can visit most normally secure sites?

  • svhost.exe causing 100 cpu

My computer is running at a snail pace because the svchost.exe uses 100% cpu ALL the time.  It's almost impossible to open and close programs.  I'm only able to use my computer if I stop the process through the Task Manager.  I would like to find a fix for this if possibel so I didn't complete the process each time I want to use the computer. O running all tests antivirus and registery scans I can think.  I thought it must be some kind of virus, but I can't find anything.  Help, please!

You can determine exactly what causes most of the problems by following the steps below:

Method 1: Put the computer in safe mode and see if the problem persists:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Method 2: Clean boot

If the problem is not repeated in safe mode, there is probably a startup item or service is causing the problem. Follow the steps on the following link to locate the item or service responsible for the error:

This is the error that I get Code80072efd

    Hello

I'm afraid that, as most of the troubleshooting steps have been tried before without much success, only two options remaining to recover operating systems are:

    (a) the system restore:

System Restore helps you restore system files from your computer to an earlier point in time. As a general rule, you want to restore your computer to a restore point created before the date and time when you started noticing problems. The descriptions of the restore points are created automatically with the name of an event, such as Windows Update to install an update. System Restore returns your computer to the State it was in before the restore point that you choose.

To learn more about how to run system restore you can follow this link given below:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/restore-system-files-and-settings

NOTE: However, it is said that the system restore does not affect your personal information such as e-mail, documents, photos, videos, etc., but it is quite possible that some of your personal files are removed during the restoration of the system.

During the restoration of the system, there may be errors and those errors can damage the files that are present in the system. And turn off your computer during the restore process may also lead to the loss of files. Sometimes, when the restoration of the system is down, it can lead to the loss of important files as well.

    (b) in the upgrade of the Place:

An upgrade on the spot is the final solution before you have to reinstall the operating system.
Note that it takes as much time to do the upgrade as to reinstall the operating system. In addition, some of your custom Windows settings may be lost through this process.

Note: Applications that you have installed Web sites and DVD is deleted. The applications provided with your PC and applications that you have installed in the Windows store will be resettled. Windows puts a list of apps removed on your desktop after you refresh your PC.

Hope this helps, if you need help with windows, please let us know we will be happy to help you.

NTVDM. EXE has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.  That is the message in the box that appears whenever I try to run my program.

    Hello

    1. what MS-DOS version do you use to run the program?

    2. it worked earlier?

3 did you last modified the software on the computer?

NTVDM. EXE Windows process to run legacy doc (16 BITS) process on machines of 32-BIT or 64-BIT now. NTVDM has been around for a long time, however the architecture of the operating system has changed, especially with Windows 7.

Maybe it's that your app is trying to do something that Windows 7 simply does no more - with some changes things has changed and some applications no longer work.

There is a "Windows XP Mode" for Windows 7 that you can download for free from Microsoft-

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx - this would allow you to run your application in what is essentially a virtual machine running Windows XP figure and thus behave as such.

I would recommend that you take this approach and check.

Hope this helps and keep us informed if you need help.

  • How can I fix the message "KBD EXE does not work"?

I get this message when starting my computer.  The message keeps saying that windows will close the program and inform me if there is a solution.  This has been ongoing for months.  I don't know the source of the file or the goal.  It does not create major problems, but my computer was slow sometimes.  I wonder if this KBD EXE is somehow connected.

You happen to have an HP computer? I ask this after searching a possible solution and multiplies the references KBD.exe is a HP program for their multimedia keyboard Manager. However, in my research I found no definitive solution, mainly suggestions for updated driver multimedia keyboard Manager.

If you have an HP I suggest visiting their site of support below. You can post for a possible solution in their communities to support as well.

  • How to fix a mistake created by VDS Dynamic provider.

I've seen the event ID 10 error caused by VDS Dynamic provider. I tried to fix it slaughter and restarting however the error comes back. I use Windows Vistax64 in HP computer. Please see the details of the problem.

    Log name: System

    Source: VDS dynamic of information

    Date:

    Event ID: 10

    Task category: no

    Level: error

    Keywords: Classic

    User: n/a

Description: the provider failed while storing notifications from the driver. The virtual disk Service must be restarted. HR = 80042505

Name of the provider = 'VDS Dynamic provider'

    EventID qualifiers = "49410" > 10

    Thank you.

    Hi shield - I.

This problem occurs because the virtual disk service will stop providers of virtual disk when it stops. When this happens, the virtual disk service cancels registration for notifications of pilot. Then, the service stops the processing thread notification.

Because the process occurs in the present order, the processing of notification thread can remind the driver once the provider has registered for notifications with the driver. In this case, an event is logged.

To resolve this issue if you have an application, accessory or service who experiences a beginning of virtual disk failure, restart the virtual disk service.

Note: Even if the virtual disk service has been restarted once, the issue may still occur after the operating system is restarted.

Take a look at the link to the following article:

10 event ID can be registered on a computer that is running a clean installation of Windows Vista SP1 or Windows Server 2008

  • How to fix the driver NTSOKRNL.exe and Atheros?

I recently installed a clean version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1 and he immediately began to malfunction. I go back to the NTSOKRNL.exe and Athrx.sys drivers who, when they do not work it live with your computer, the cause of a malfunction and crashed to a bluescren. Let's all start, I contacted Microsoft to numerous amounts of time (7 times now) and all that they say to call microsoft and use their premium support that starts at $ 99 (which is out of the question I just don't have the money) I tried to call once and told them abuot the question, but they hung up when I said no. And even once when I contacted an agent via chat to support, and they kept insisting to call and I have to use the subscription for my repaired OS.

This is quite unacceptable. I have a genuine version of Windows 7, my computer is also is no longer supported by HP, so I can't send it to their challenge because they want to pay $ 300 to do a clean installation using my version of windows 7. I would also like to make a formal complaint against Microsoft to charge customers who own Microsoft Windows and try to get help, but only are rejected due to the fact we have to pay for advanced support. I need help right away, because I can't use my laptop correctly, but also loss of data. For the first 5 attempts they tried to help me solve the problem, but after 5, they say I have to pay, even if Microsoft.
