  I have been playing with function "Format to a string", but were not able to achieve exactly. I have a decimal number that can have any number of significant digits. I want to convert to a string that will be 3 characters maximum.

  If the decimal number is 34.5343, it should give 34.5

  If the decimal number is 34.0, it should give 34 (remove the 0 useless after the comma)

  If the decimal number is 128,000, it should give 128 (remove the 0 useless after the comma)

• Is it possible to use decimal format US while using Spanish as their main language?

  We work with the PLM for process 6.1.1.4 in Spanish. We noticed that the decimals are using the European format (comma instead of points) and we want to preserve the American format. Is it possible to use the application in Spanish, but manage the decimals using points?

  It is possible to work around this problem.  There are a few bugs with the Spanish language pack that makes the solution a bit more difficult, but it is possible to find a solution in 6.1.1.4 for this issue by having the user set their profile and preferences to Spanish (Mexico).  Here's workaround (remember to save the tables affected before implementing the solution, to be sure):

  2 run the following script:

  -Allows Spanish language (need to work around the bug 20088642)

  UPDATE SUPPORTEDLANGUAGES VALUE ACTIVE = 1 WHERE LANGID = 2;

  -Then the 2 lines are needed to activate the culture Spanish (Mexico) (Bug 21452139)

  UPDATE SUPPORTEDCULTURES VALUE ACTIVE = 1 WHERE LCID = 2058;
  UPDATE SUPPORTEDCULTURESNEW SET LANGID = 2 WHERE LCID = 2058;

  3 user preferences. change of Español (Mexico) - users previously had the "Español (España)" option should now be able to select "Español (Mexico)" in the profile and preferences under the language of the user interface (i.e. Perfil y prefencias) below the drop-down list of IU of Idioma)

  4. with this new option of culture, the decimals in PLM for process should appear like this 0,00000 (decimal point) kg instead of 0,00000 kg (comma).  A test to ensure that it works.

  Padding with zero is not the answer. What you write in fact comme.720 et.1218 are, in fact, not decimals.

  As you suggested, 720 and 1218 values represent for several minutes. Thus, the duration, in minutes, for dates (2015 - 06-16 at 12:00) and (2015 - 06-16 at 20:18) are, respectively, 12 x 60 = 720 and 20 x 60 + 18 = 1218. You can solve the problem in 2 ways:

  1)

  Interpret values 42170 / 720 and 42170 / 1218, respectively, as 42170 + 720/1439 =42170.500 and 42170 + 1218/1439 =42170.846

  2)

  Take a step back to my last post. You can determine the date reset your system as follows.

  You know that the date (2015 - 06-16 at 12:00) equals (42170 days + 720 minutes) after the date of zero. Everything by converting the minutes gives (42170 x 24 x 60 + 720) = 60725520 minutes. You then

  I respectfully disagree with the idea that you must change the query column a type of 'money' data to something else.

  I write a code in LabVIEW to convert MBus data for some energy meters.

  Apparently the meter that I use sends the data as a string in hexadecimal format, however after correctly parking that string in hexadecimal format, the real value is the decimal number in this hexadecimal string without conversion.

  I tried to use the Type Cast and Conversion of string without success. Can someone please help me find a solution?

  Because the entry in the spreadsheet uses the table to a spreadsheet string, and there is one type of entry - the digital table in your case. If you want to write your own handwriting worksheet function, you can index each element of the array and use in the string instead of the table on the worksheet.

• Value entered does not match the format of the field

  I need help with an error message that I receive. I received this message before and has received excellent advice on how to solve this problem, but I can't apply this same solution to this situation, as it is different.

  I have a form with 5 fields. The math for those fields should go as follows:

  Zone 1 (JF01) - area 2 (JF01a) = field 3 (JF01b) + area 4 (JF01c) = field 5 (JF01d)

  Here are the scripts that I have on the tabs to calculate two fields "total":

  (I have all the fields to the number with 2 decimal format and a sign of dollar without space)

  JF01b:

  myField = this.getField ("JF01b") var; myField.value = Number (this.getField("JF01").value) - Number (this.getField("JF01a").value);

  JF01d:

  myField = this.getField ("JF01d") var; myField.value = Number (this.getField("JF01b").value) + Number (this.getField("JF01c").value);

  Everything works great - to-zero = JF01d. If this last field happen to add up to zero it is when I get the error message and I have no idea why. If this field is a number greater than zero or even a negative number, that's fine. But there is simply not a zero.

  I just noticed a few numbers that equal zero work very well, but for some reason, others don't.

  For example:

  10.00 $ - $50,00 = - 40,00 $40,00 + not = $0.00 works fine no problem, but

  180.00 $ - $190,80 = - $10.80 + $10.80 = - $10.80 last field should be zero - No - $ 10.80 and error message appears

  It seems that the error occurs only when there is numbers other than zeros after the decimal point. (Which still confuses me.)

  The likely cause is the result of the subtraction is a number very close to zero, but not quite, which is represented in scientific notation (by example, - 1.23456e - 15), confuses setting routines in the form which uses Acrobat. You can prevent it by rounding up the result of the calculation, for example:

  Subtract and rounded to two decimal places

  I have an application that allows employees to enter a request for leave.  If they take a partial day, they enter the start and end time, and it is stored in the database as military time (for example: start - 13:00; end - 17:00).   I then display a list of vacation on an application of dashboard for managers to display.

  Occasionally, an employee registers an hour such as 13:30 - 17:00.  I want to display it on the screen in the form of 3.5 hours.

  My current application use DateDiff to calculate the time difference:

  One, is there a better way to determine the difference in hours between the two times, and

  For simple a decimal value, enter the number of minutes instead.  Then divide by 60. You can use NumberFormat to tweak the output number.

  dateDiff ("n", time_started, time_ended)

  For fancy options, you can check the DateTime library at www.cflib.org. Chances are they have a function for what you do.
