  Hello LarryMeBoy, I never encrypted a hard drive partition, but I wouldn't recommend doing this on the system partition or the recovery partition factory D:.

  Do this on these scores might make it unusable. There should be no need to do so because there is no user stored on these partitions data at all.

  The system partition contains the data needed to encrypt a hard drive (partition).
