Decreases in health battery optimized performance

I have this problem where when I choose this option, the game performance decreases significantly. I have a y510p with a geforce sli dual 755 m. The second graphics card goes off when it is not plugged in, I'm guessing that the case is at the moment. I rebooted my computer with restart of the entire application and it was not fixed. What I have to reduce my battery less than 60%, then plug it in then get back to normal performance or what.

Understand the problem. You must connect the charger and decrease the battery below the battery to optimize it. Then you plug it in and it is fine. 60% it says plugged in and not charging and the GPU works both

  • Laptop computer in "battery optimized cooling method" - harmful running?

    Hello

    I get very irritated by the amount of noise produced by the fan, whenever my laptop was connected to electricity, even when executing tasks very simple such as browsing the Internet or word processing.

    So I changed the method of cooling under Vista Power Options Advanced "maximum performance" "battery optimized". Now the computer is pleasantly quiet, but I was wondering if it could damage the laptop anyway when I run in this mode in spite of being hooked up to an acre should probably also reduce the "maximum processor state", which is currently 100%?

    Best regards

    Martin

    Hello Martin

    Believe me I absolutely use the same settings almost half a year now. And I'm satisfied. The laptop works well and the cooling fan is silent.
    The question is for operations, you need your laptop. If you use it for operations of every day such as writing letters, verification of different tricks in Internet, music download you do not have high-level sport. I recommend to use the balanced power options power management. Just to set the brightness of the screen at the highest level and you can continue to work.

    Using the same parameters of power, I have good job and portable absolutely silent.

    Another thing: before the entrance to the laptop market it must be properly tested and I really don't think Toshiba will offer some parameters that may damage the portable equipment.

    Simply choose your preferred settings and be happy. ;)

  • Satellite A660 - fan 90% on battery optimized mode

    Hi all my dear users of Toshiba that I really respect because they use such great brand Toshiba. I hope you have the time to read my problem and that its length can not bother you and you can do me favor and answer me.
    I am from Egypt and I recently bought the Toshiba Satellite A660 - 17M. It is really a great device and I've updated the BIOS twice on the official website of Toshiba and now I have the 2.00 BIOS os independent.

    My problem now is that the fan cooling and here's what happens with me. When I adjust method in the Toshiba cooling ensures peak performance so that the temp is between 36 to 63% and the fan speed is 52 to 75% and it takes a lot of time turns off because it is not easy to reach the beach of temp which makes it either stops when I'm inactive or work.

    The largest part of the problem is that when I change the method of cooling battery optimized mode everything working the fan going to 90% and rest, so never or up to this I put the laptop before in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 minutes. Then it is cool and it stops. So in the meantime either inactive or work done, it jumps again to 90%. When I turned off my laptop and wait to be completely cooled, then turn it on while in battery optimized mode the fan starts working during start-up only stops until Windows starts completely then it climbs to 90% and remaining so ever except when I force him to be cool by placing it in front of the fridge.

    My friends, I think that it is not logical to always work in conditions of refrigerator and also it is illogical to have fan always 90% especially that I'm on battery optimized mode.

    What is the problem in your opinion, and if someone has the same laptop can help and describe what is happening with him also. I do not remember if these events are produced before BIOS set to day or not as I they weren't in my mind before BIOS update and I don t know whether or not this happens also before the BIOS update.

    From what I understand, is that the battery optimized mode fan running weaker than the maximum performance mode. Then what's happening and if you say he remains silent until this than complete Windows starts and runs then 90% to compensate for the accumulated heat, I agree with you, but shouldn't t happen to some extend then stops at the battery life optimized according to the name of the battery optimized mode.

    Really I am so disappointed and now know what the problem is. Please help and don t advise me to call Toshiba. Whatever they say please send us the laptop. I m waiting for your responses and thanks a lot for the time spent reading my message.

    Hey,.

    Normally if you use the battery mode optimized for the method of cooling the fan will run less maximum performance. So your laptop will work more silent, but with a higher temperature but usually you don't notice it.

    So if this happened only since the update of the BIOS is you load the default settings in the BIOS after update? Go to the BIOS Setup and press F9 to load the default values. Then save & exit the BIOS Setup.

    I would be also interesting to know what operating system you are using. What is the version preinstalled Windows from Toshiba or your own installation?

    The fan should be cleaned from time to time using a jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans. This can also help improve the cooling. An accurate and interesting article on cleaning the notebook, you can find here:

    Original title: size of pagefile.

    Swap files are always important. UNIX, Linux, MacOS and Windows all set up to Exchange files and use them. Some applications also require the existence of a file...

  • ActionScript 3 - Player enemy collide, decrease of health bar

    Declaring variables

    var maxHP:int = 100;

    var currentHP:int = maxHP;

    var percentHP:Number = currentHP / maxHP.

    Here's the code when enemy player collide

    If (enemyList.length > 0) {}

    for (var m:int = 0; m < enemyList.length; m ++) {}

    If {(player.hitTestObject (enemyList [m]))

    trace ("player collided with the enemy");

    currentHP = 50; decrease in bar //health

    If (currentHP < = 0)

    {

    currentHP = 0;

    trace ("You died!");

    }

    updateHealthBar();

    }

    }

    }

    update function

    function updateHealthBar (): void

    {

    percentHP = currentHP / maxHP.

    healthBar.barColor.scaleX = percentHP;

    }

    The output of this code, the player has only two health bar, 100/50.

    The problem is when the player hits an enemy, the reduction of fast health bar, due to repeated as a player through the enemy visits (the size of the enemy is as big as a player).

    What I want is when the player hits the enemy, the health bar lower only once, even the player through the enemy. And when the health bar 0 bar, game over and the player must restart again this level.

    So, how do I get it?

    You can use the setTimeout() with Boolean object method:

    Create the object in the main timeline

    var onTouch:Boolean = false;

    If (player.hitTestObject (enemyList [m]) & onTouch == false) {}

    onTouch = true;

    trace ("player collided with the enemy");

    currentHP = 50; decrease in bar //health

    If (currentHP<=>

    {

    currentHP = 0;

    trace ("You died!");

    }

    on the other

    {

    setTimeout (function () {onTouch = false;}, 1000); Turn it off after 1 second, if the player still alive.

    }

    updateHealthBar();

    }

  • Optimizing performance (vector vs. Raster)

    Public Hello,

    I am trying to improve the rate of game that appeals to many floor tiles. Currently, the floor tiles are stored and vector graphics in the form of different frames in a clip. I wanted to experiment with the pixelation a floor tile and see if that would allow any frame rate increases. I did it by one of my windows (one of the frames in my video) convert a png image and replacing the version vector of this tile with this version of raster. I then tested two worlds - a tile filled (vector) and another filled with tile B (png).

    In all my tests, world with tile (the original version of vector) surpassed the world with slab B. I'm guessing that I'm not getting the expected performance gains is because I'm always the tiles in the old style and do not use any strict bitmap draw calls?

    Can someone help me get a better understanding of why it is that this method fails the rendering speed booster? I have to spend my bitmap rendering code strict draw calls? Any insight or links to relevant articles or sites would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, all.

    in most situations, you expect any non-translationnelle transformation (IE, all other than x, y change) request less computer resources when it is applied to a vector vs a bitmap cacheAsBitmap is applied or applied both or.   you would expect everyone to use less resources during non-translationnelle transformation when cacheAsBitmap is disabled.

  • Question of optimizing performance - CSS or custom component?

    I'm trying to optimize the performance of my application of slimming things down as much as possible. In my application, I have several paintings that all exactly the same, but each of them has an image applied as their background. The image in question is a png, which means apply the background image for each canvas with this particular image would mean essentially that at the start, that this image is loaded only once for each canvas, which means that that would take more space and time than necessary.

    This what I asked, what would be the best way for this slim down? Using css and applying a style across the canvases which has Imaging applied in the file css or creating a custom component that has a background image applied to it and use it for paintings?

    3 & 4 are the same.  1 & 2 are almost the same, but 1 will start the load

    later than 2 and the two won't be able to display the image until it is

    downloaded.

    3 & 4 will be able to display the image immediately, but it's because the

    the user had to wait for the image to download until he could see anything

    other than the download of the progressbar.  The entire application will start not before

    the image data is downloaded as part of the SWF file.

    Sometimes, the best way to get performance is not not to actually improve

    performance, but rather to improve perceived performance.  For example,.

    you could incorporate a version low resolution of the image in the SWF file that takes only

    50K for example and add a blur filter and move it all in high resolution

    version being downloaded by a hidden Image control, then trade in the

    high resolution when it will be ready.  When an image is blurred or mobile

    quickly, it is hard to tell the quality of it.

  • LR3 configuration for optimal performance

    Hello

    I'll install LR3 on a newly build PC with a Velociraptor 150 GB (10000 RPM) for the operating system (Windows 7 64 b), small SSD for virtual memory (25-30 GB of free space) and a HDD 1 TB 7200 RPM / min for photographs and other data. It has 8 GB of RAM.

    Where you would put the cache and the catalog in LR3 to optimize performance?

    Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Adrien

    No, normally you can't, that's why I was asking.

    There are a few things (symlinks, junctions), but I don't know if

    they work very well.

    I didn't know I could put some previews and catalog in two different places.

  • Optimizing performance with an SSD.

    Can someone refer me to online information about how to optimize startup and execution of the program selected by installing the OS (Win 7) and some intensive programs (MS Office 2007 and Adobe CS4, Photoshop mainly) disc on a 80 GB SSD, but maintaining / installed everything on a large drive hard 'standard', the user i.e.:ALL files (documents (, scanned documents, digital photos, music videos, etc.) and less intensive disk or less programs frequently used?  I can easily install Win 7 on the SSD ("C" drive), but it sets up the path of directory and 'Users' data on the same drive, by default.  I'm reluctant to mess with the registry, but do I have to in order to move all the files from the user to drive "D" or "E" (two Seagate 1 TB disks). I'm on an Intel CoreDuo test mode, platform of Quad with 8 GB of RAM, but will migrate to a new I7 with 12 GB of DDR3 as soon as I'm uncomfortable with this installation process - but I don't think that all the material, other than readers, is very important for the problem.  Thank you.

  • Tecra M5 - Toshiba Power Saver did not do his job properly

    Hello

    After looking for a tool to silence my Tecra M5 awhile, I found an apparently nice application called Toshiba Power Saver. Unfortunately this tool doesn't seem to work properly. I played with the [slider cooling method | http://img200.imageshack.us/img200/8008/powersaver.jpg] (click to see a picture) and here's how it works.

    The cooling method can be set to one of four options: battery optimized Performance, maximum Performance and cooling optimized, where one is supposed to be the quietest, and those of other more noisy.

    Assume that the cpu fan spins at high speed at the start and I do not have anything on my laptop. I move the cursor to the battery optimized setting, click on apply and the fan (instantly) slows down (yay!). Then I need to do something about hunger for a while and finally the fan turns up the noisy power level. I then doing nothing of the brand-new, but the fan is like that * ever *. The processor is as cold as ice, the air is blown could freeze the fingers, but the fan spins like crazy to wake up my neighbours on the road.

    I'm really sure that the cpu is cool? Yes. Why?
    Because when I move the slider for Performance affecting now and click on apply the fan slows down (right) and remains like that until I start working on something new. Then I stop doing what I was doing and the continuous spinning fan * ever * once again.

    So I change the method of cooling for battery optimized setting back again once, click on apply and the fan slows down... and so on and so forth, stuck in a vicious circle.

    The key to success here is keep pressing the button apply, which the Power Saver application should do from time to time and not me and not forgetting what it is here for.

    What is the problem with this app? Is there a fix available (or alternative)?
    The version I have is 7.11 and runs on XP Pro SP3.

    Hello

    What about your ad here?

    TOSHIBA Power saver is tool Toshiba use for years and it is preinstalled on 98% of all models of Toshiba laptops. So, in my opinion, this tool is certainly one of the best and most effective tool designed by Toshiba.

    Over the last 10 years, I have worked with many Toshiba laptops and I used this tool on each laptop to optimize my work. Mix between the good performance of the processor and method of cooling level offers enough power for each working day and with a low level in the method of cooling laptop runs pretty quiet.

    Maybe stupid sounds now, but I have noticed that the Portege notebooks are, perhaps, more sensitive and using tool electric saver you cannot have the same effect as on certain portable Satellite and Tecra.

    I do not think that this tool doesn't work properly on your Portege but Portege laptops have a specific design and material may reach a higher temperature faster than on the other laptop models.
    Portege laptops have excellent and powerful material packed in a box of small notebook.
    Sometimes laptop runs quiet and if you just connect the USB mouse the cooling fan starts to run strong enough. A small business can speed up physical activity and if temperature sensors have noticed a higher temperature for a degree C only, the fan control mechanism get information starts to cool the fan turns.

    It is really not easy to tell if there is something wrong or right. My personal opinion is that everything is OK. You can try to talk with the service of Toshiba. Call them and ask for explanations. They should have enough experience with this stuff.

    In any case, good luck!

  • Portege R500 stronger cooling module

    I have a Portege R500 and Notepad air fan is stronger.
    I tried several cooling profiles (battery optimized Performance, battery, optimized cooling performance) and with all profiles is the fan of the air harder. :(

    Hello

    I think that there is anything wrong with your laptop or cooling modules.
    The cooling module could be little bit stronger due to the fast rotation of fan.

    But the fan must turn more quickly to ensure a good and cooling properly.
    This is necessary and essential to ensure that your internal parts like CPU and GPU overheats not!

    PS: Have you checked settings dynamic CPU frequency mode in Toshiba HWSetup?
    Please check if the frequency was set to dynamically switchable.

    I know that you have changed the settings of day before but let repeat me once again.
    Saving PCI-> enable
    Method of controlling CPU-> auto
    Processing speed of the CPU-> set it to a lower level (left)
    Method of cooling-> lower level (left)

  • How can I optimize my battery health? I am technologically challenged.

    1. I'm a fool to the computer. 2. my laptop Lenovo "told me" I should use "Battery optimized Mode health" because of the way I use my computer.  How do I do that? Where do you change the battery health optimized mode?

    I had the same opinion also. I found the way to do it. If you have not yet changed, you can follow this.

    1. click on the battery icon in the taskbar next to the date and time.
    2. click on "more power Options.
    3. "change plan settings".
    4. change advanced power settings
    5. There are two tabs when you click on this button. It said "Advanced settings" and the other says "Lenovo energy management." click on this last one that says "Lenovo energy management."
    6. click on the button that says "activate Lenovo Energy Management."
    7. you can see "Battery optimized" a second button of radiohead.
    8. you can leave right after.
    I hope this helps.
