Can someone please tell me why turns off Windows Defender, there is no virus on the system, I have put right, register so I have no idea, virus program I use AVG, which is compatible for defender or not, Vista is windows program that I use, I hope someone can shed some light on my problem and quickly please , Thanks j62

AVG 9 turns off Windows Defender by design.

In FAQ AVG: http://www.avg.com/us-en/faq.num-2672' Please note that Windows Defender is only disabled and not removed from the computer.
It is important preventing conflict between AVG and Windows Defender. As they are security applications, they will try to check you work with files. Because they will do it at the same time, conflicts may arise. These may cause gel, accidents or slowdown in the computer. It is generally not recommended to use more than one product of security on a computer. "Microsoft Security MVP, 2004-2010

  • 1415 CM cold Color mfp goes off line when a pc Windows 8 joined the Group

I have a network that uses a Sprint MiFi unit as the access device and router. My printer the CM1415 worked for two years with reliability when my old PC is connected A Toshiba laptop with Win Vista 64 bit and a laptop from Sony with Win 7 Ultimate. My nexus device 7 can even connect to the internet without problem. I recently purchase a Lenovo all in one with Windows 8 every time that this machine is running the printer is offline, and even if it is reset it goes off line almost immediately. The Working Group on all of the PCs is the same, and all of them continue to be able to access the Internet. When I disable the machine Win 8 and run the network Test the printer resets and works very well.

    Any ideas out there

Hey Mrstenter.  My problem is solved, here's what I did to solve

1 mobility Homegroup in the Machine of Win8 (no effect)
    2. change workgroup in network on behalf of our working group (no effect)
3 reset the device MiFi Sprint factory and recreated the network using a different SSID and a both reconnected the old PC and reconfigured the network connections and the printer. (everything worked as before)
4 added Win 8 PC and connected and the printer is still alive and active for all. HP said that the Protocol of security WPA-2 was not supported but my Sprint MiFi would not allow me to reset and it worked before

You may not have gotten the Jist but the printer has worked for 2 years on the network before. I just added the Windows 8 PC that broke the connection for other devices on the network whenever it was turned on.

WPA2-psk might not be supported, but it worked and doesn't work always, and until I physically change my Sprint MiFi, I have no other options maybe it's a hardware failure, but it is what it is.

  • m9517c becomes unstable and goes off

I had a m9517c 7 months. About 4 weeks, the system began to break down suddenly. Home of HP extended warranty service replaced the hard drive twice in the past week. Here is a description of the problem that I am experiencing now. I reloaded the system recovery discs and updated the Windows Vista software and updates from HP for this system.

After using the system from 20 minutes to several hours, the computer becomes unstable. The mouse cursor will block upward and off the computer will. The blue light on the power switch stays on, but the system is out of service. with a black screen. I hold the switch for 20 seconds, until the blue light on the power switch goes off.  At this point, the system will not be turned by pressing the power switch. The system seems dead.  Then I remove all cables from the computer. When the devives and cables are removed, I press and hold the power switch for a minute. When I first press the switch, the switch blue ligh flashes on for about half a second. I flick the switch of poewer after about a minute and then reconnect the cable. I restart the computer and it will start and load Vista without any problems. The system will operate from 20 minutes to several hours until once again, it becomes unstable and goes off as described above. I went through this cycle of ten or more times in the last 48 hours.

I was informed that the thing 'cable - disconnect power-switch-hold' bleeding the static electricity of the system.

Can anyone suggest what the problem is with my system? Thank you.

After following "HP"Reduce the heat inside the computer"document the problem is resolved. Appearently, after six months of strong performance of the system has begun to fire. I removed the side panel and blew out the dust with canned air. The system has been runnng for a solid 4 hours now. LLA is longer that he has run for three weeks.  Can I use the count with the side panel of the and it is not a shame, because the side ope is facing a wall. I continue to provide at least 10 inches of air space around the turn of the computer. Surprisongly, it seems not to be more dust inside the tower when I blew.

One complaint: the technician that HP sent to replce the HDD (twice) was always in a big hurry to get on the old drive out and slams the new driveein and runut the door. This guy should have to spend five minutes to blow out the dust.

    Thanks for the replies.

You are running Microsoft Security Essentials, AVG, Norton or McAfee? If you run one of those, she didn't have Defender. It's good, not bad. Not only is there potential conflict, but there is no reason to have both; basically to have something very similar to the built-in Defender, and both running at a time will be your performance level and create the risk of problems that are contrary to the other.

Hi, my problem is that my audio goes off after a few minutes, then if I want it back I have to restart the PC and it seems in good condition, but imagine having to restart your computer after you have initially fed up whenever you want to use the PC. The Support assistant says that my drivers are up to date, that the problem may be due to the fact that I didn't have this problem until recently who told me that one of the automatic updates at the origin of this problem.

In addition, a problem that has never set was my internet inexplicably drops for no apparent reason. Sporadic problem and has nothing to do with my connection as it has occurred in several physical locations. Open Internet explorer by clicking on 'fix the fitting' works after a few minutes, but it is only a band-aid solution.
