Definition of the starting location of the scenes in Windows DVD Maker

I created a Windows Movie Maker project file when I burn it to a DVD using Windows DVD Maker I want to specify the locations where each scene begins instead: "multiple scenes are created for the file addedWindows of the Movie Maker project by dividing the project into equal lengths and creating a scene for each part."  Is it possible to get the scenes that appear in the video menu to point to the locations I want?

Hello

Unfortunately, this cannot be done, it's by design. I suggest you to send your comments in the link mentioned below so that we can improve windows 7.

  • Cannot open a project in Windows Movie Maker after the backup in Windows DVD Maker

I imported with success of media in Windows Movie Maker, Movie published by using Windows DVD Maker as a guest just so that I could see how it would look.  I was able to view what I had engraved on a DVD and was very happy about how he already produces.  When I returned to Windows Movie Maker and tried to open my project to continue adding multimedia elements to it, I can't open it - it tells me that it is not a valid file in Windows Movie Maker.  Can find my project in My Documents in the category Videos, I'm still not able to open it.  I wonder if I shouldn't have saved in Windows DVD Maker.  I hope that I'm not "all over again.

I would greatly greatly appreciate it if anyone can help.  It is a very special project for a class reunion.

This is the first time I used a forum so I hope I've submitted it correctly.

    Thank you!

    NancyLouse,

Windows DVD Maker and Movie Maker store files with different file extensions.  This means that if you named the file 'file Movie Maker' and the DVD Maker 'file' file the real file names would actually file. MSWMM and file. MSDVD

To display the extensions on all the files follow these steps:
-Click on the ORB to start and Control Panel
-In Control Panel, click Classic view in the upper left corner
-Click on Folder Options, click view
-Scroll to "Hide Extensions for known Types file" and uncheck this box

The search in the folder now where you saved these files or use the search function, you should see the 2 different files.

What version of Windows are you using?  If the Windows Vista Ultimate and the file has been deleted somehow you can be lucky.

Vista Ultimate is a feature called previous versions.  To restore the file back to it's previous state, you can do a right click on the folder where the document has been stored (if the Documents may start, right-click on Documents) then go to properties

-Click the previous versions and you will see the dates corresponding to previous versions of the file you are looking at.
-Select a date and time that corresponds to when the file in this folder was in operational condition and double-click the file to open it

Find the file in the folder newly open and drag the file to your desktop (be sure not to drag to the exact location where the file was initially as not to overwrite the file).

    I hope this helps

  • How can I increase the size of the disk on Windows DVD maker?

I have 240 min. discs, but it's only allowing me 150 minutes.

    Hello

A DVD video is made based on time, not on the size of the file. If the length is too large, it does not fit on the DVD.
As a general rule, a 4.7 GB DVD can hold an hour of high-quality video. According to the compression options in your authoring software this time may be increased.

As you can see in the FAQ below. DVD Maker is supposed to burn up to 150 minutes on a DVD single layer.

For more information, see the article below:

And the compression used, at least your video quality.
But yes. You can buy double-layer - DVD DL DVD blank 8.5 GB of memory capacity. It also requires a DVD burner double layer. And I'm not positive that the DVD Maker will recognize a DVD DL.

    It will be useful.
  • Help me find the fix to Windows DVD Maker image format. THERE IS A DIFFICULTY!

OK... so I burned the AVI videos using Windows dvd creation since I put beta tested Vista WAY back when... never have I had this problem to burn a movie that has been set to 16:9 and he's seen out as a 4:3 video. Last week, I reinstalled windows as normal... and a few days later tried to burn an AVI movie. I selected the 16:9 and burned. When it's done I put it in my dvd player and BOOM... black on the left and right. (but from what I gather... is not new for many people)

So keep in mind that I reinstall Windows approximately every 3-6 months and have never had any problems.

I am currently (and since a certain time) running windows 7 ult x 64.

When I reinstall windows the first thing we do is to install my video card. (ATI Radeon 5850 Black Edition) with the center of control of drivers, ect...

Then I reboot and install Direct X followed CCCP (combined community codec pack) is the only codec pack I use... I've never installed K-lite or all others.

Then I installed Sony Vegas Pro (video editing software) - added filter in DVD maker.

Then cinema 4 d R12 (3d animation software) - adds the filter for DVD maker

Vuze (client bittorrent with HD video player)

IE 9 no matter what video converter (best program EVER)

    and that is it really.

After doing this for all these years... Creation of DVD has never failed to work for me.

HOWEVER this last time I was able to produce anything else than coasters.

In ADDITION, before this last reinstallation I had installed something to help me read MKV files and I tried to install Halii Media Splitter for some random projects I was working on that. I'm not sure what I was wrong... but my video thumbnails finished a little crushed... as if they were 16:5 If you get what I mean... they were just larger thumbnails video normal 16:9 but they were 2/3rds as great. right now I'm not sure how to achieve this effect again.

Then. While this problem in case of problem, I noticed that the prevew for DVD maker always displays the video as a 16:9 (which is not a new discovery I know) HOWEVER... I have noticed that when you add a video to DVD maker's miniature aspect in this first window is how the video will end eventually... thus spare you coasters and do not burn if it is 4:3. I found that by adding a video AVI, then that same video converted to WMV. AVI showed 4:3 and 16:9 stood the WMV... also, I burned a trailer for 2 min in the two formatted to see if there was a difference and yes it y a. AVI who appeared as a 4:3 (despite the 16:9 in review and preview "pretending to be 16:9) and the WMV which showed up as 16:9 does infact burn on 16:9 as expected.

It's upsetting and frustrating because I use to be able to add 16:9 avi videos to DVD maker, and they present themselves as 16:9. I tried even to add a video that I had already burned a few months ago and he has appeared in 4:3 when before reinstalling it is presented as a 16:9... until the devil. Sorry this is so long, but my point, I think he's done.

There is a solution to this problem...

its all just get the good codecs incolved kind DVD maker is as it should. It should also be noted that I didn't know yet that there is a Compatibility tab in the options until I started having this problem... (which means that I have NEVER in the past has changed the filters in this tab and I have never had any problems.) I think that my installation I have always used in the past just had good codecs concerned to harmonize with creation of DVD and hit "sweet spot that she were" currently, I'm trying to recreate my relocation and get back to work... when I say that out I'll post back with THE FIX that everyone so desperately need.

Because... Yes I could convert WMV videos or I could download movie maker and make all this *... but it's the principle... I DIDN'T HAVE TO DO IN THE PAST...... I WOULDN'T DO IT NOW...

    all thoughts.

its super easy to reinstall windows. Place the disc in... and go. I don't think I could use a picture program of system... simply because I don't want to install the same things every time. and if I add movies or music, or especially photo after that so the picture was taken when I go back to the image they would be lost. from now need me only about 1.5 hours to reinstall windows to start in Finnish.

    the codec I got was

    http://www.XviD.org/downloads.15.0.html

and it probably won't resolve the problem by itself. the programs I install as Cinema 4 d R12, any video converter, sony vegas pro, all add their own filters in DVD maker... so it could be some of them, it could be all the... I'm not sure... I'll have to look into the issue more. I also installed the windows 7 codec pack and DIVX and for reason, he came back with the same problem. so I reinstalled again without the windows 7 codec pack and its working again.

Usually a single layer 4.7 GB DVD white held an hour of high
quality video. With compression, some programs are capable of
the extension of this period. I don't know exactly what is DVD Maker
capable of in that regard I think 150 minutes it is really pushing.

Large and complex projects usually cause problems. Best bet IMHO
would be to create several small projects and publish (save) each
a WMV format movie to a folder on your hard drive.

Then import the WMV files collected in DVD Maker and each of them
becomes a scene (chapter), you can have up to 18 scenes.

Without a doubt... video editing and DVD burning can be a frustrating business.

    Good luck with your project.

    Hi twilight,

    ·         Do you have what video creation software installed?

    ·         How long have you been experiencing this problem?

    ·         Have you done other recent changes on the computer?

    ·         What is the exact error message/code?

    ·         The problem occurs with the entire application?

I suggest you try the steps mentioned below and check if it helps.

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode and check if the problem persists.

If the problem persists in safe mode run clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode

  • Why the version of Windows 7 to Windows DVD Maker product a blurry video of Windows Live Movie Maker?

When I do a DVD (using Windows DVD Maker) of a film produced by Windows Live Movie Maker photos are blurred and contained very low quality video.  The photos that I use in the project are very sharp, as is the video that I use in the project.

The movie makes WLMM project is strong on the computer but when it is published on the DVD in Windows DVD Maker it produces a result blur this film as seen on the computer and any DVD player.  It's nothing to do with transitions because the film WLMM is strong.  Other DVD manufacturers produce a sharp image of the film WLMM even, but I prefer the way Windows DVD Maker makes the DVD with scenes, etc...

The problem seems to lie with the WLMM. creating Windows DVD DVD movie conversion - are they incompatible?  This seems to happen with the version of Windows 7, everything worked fine with versions of Vista on my old computer.  I find it very frustrating to have this return back.  Please suggest a solution.  The version of WLMM is Version 2011 (Build 15.4.3502.0922); I can't find a version number for Windows DVD Maker.

    Update:

Thanks to Irfan for a potential solution.  I did another DVD with all the filters off but unfortunatey it made no difference.  Having had another close watch the DVD video, the problem is to double everything up like a photo on a slow speed where you have shaking of the camera.  In particular, a girl with wire rim glasses has a rim double wire and even a girl with hair each double strand.  When further looked at what gives the appearance of an image finery.  Again, I must say that the film from which the DVD-video has been done had this failure and from DVD of this film by any other manufacturer of DVD Windows DVD Maker does not exhibit this problem.  The operating system is Windows 7.

    Hello Charley Farley,

  • Windows DVD Maker will not play on the TV DVD player

I have Windows Vista, and Windows Movie Maker to make a movie. I've published using Windows DVD Maker. I've made several copies and sent to various members of my family. While I was able to watch them when I tested them on my TV dvd player, none of my family members are able to watch their copies on their dvd players. In addition, when I insert the dvd in my computer's dvd player, it won't play either. How can I fix?

Thank you. What I did just check "ffdshow" configuration and found that the codec for mp2 was disabled, so I let him. Now when I load the dvd into my computer it starts automatically.

Now, my question is that I have to burn the new dvd for my family, so they can watch on their dvd player TV? Are their other codecs apart from that I have activated that must be adjusted so that DVDs can be found on other dvd players?

  • Why does the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) stop Windows DVD maker work & burn a DVD of my videos?

My operating system is Windows Vista.  I used Movie Maker to make of my recordings of camcorder home movies, but when I try to burn a DVD with Windows DVD Maker, the program closed its doors with an error message - Data Execution Prevention (DEP) has apparently stopped the program for preventing possible dangers for my computer, maybe because he was "bad memory usage".  I tried to turn off DEP for this program, but it won't let me.  How to work around this problem?

  • Not possible to burn a DVD on the Satellite A100-338 using Windows DVD Maker

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100. I'm trying to burn a DVD using Microsoft Windows DVD Maker and a Sony DVD - RW. The laptop has a carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ-850 s ATA device.

When I try to burn a DVD, a progress bar appears and is about 2% before the hanging.

I also tried to format the DVD first, and which is progressing well before coming up with an error message saying that the drive could not be formatted.

Anyone got any ideas? Am I missing something completely obvious?

    Hello

the following things could probably help you with your problem:

-> control if a new BIOS for your machine and a new FIRMWARE update for your DVD player are available. Update the BIOS and the player firnware
-> use another applications burning like Nero, CDBurnerXP or other thing that is usually know work well with almost all DVD - RW readers out there
-> use a DIFFERENT brands of DVD media because the carpet * a readers are really picky

If all these steps fail, then it is possible that your drive is defective and must be replaced.
