    After booting from the recovery CD, you should get 2 options;
    -Standard mode
    -Expert mode

    Using the Standard mode, the whole HARD disk will be formatted. Also al partitions will be erased.

    In expert mode, you may have chosen was the XP must be installed.

  • Satellite U840-10R: is it possible to delete all partitions + install Win 8

    Hello everyone,

    I bought a labtop U840-10R yesterday and I would like to know if it is possible to delete all TOSHIBA partitions and create a single partition SSD (for windows 8) and another 500 GB for files?

    I met some difficulties to understand how SSD technology is currently used, so if you have information...

    Thank you

    Before you remove anything from the HARD drive, I recommend the establishment of recovery disk.
    The recovery disk allows you to set the system back to factory settings.
    After these disks have been created, you can do whatever you want :)

  • Reset hardware g580 (delete all partitions)

    I recently bought a g580 with windows 8 is installed. He didn't get any installation media.

    I tried to install linux (the wrong way) and now I messed up my hard drive. The reader has like 8 different partitions and the boot loader invite you to charge me linux, even if it is not currently installed.

    I want to reset my computer to factory settings, delete all my partitions and keep windows 8.

    IE I want to make the computer exactly as it was when I got it, I am more conserned with the hard drive and I want to own, with only the necessary partitions installed.

    Thank you!

    Hi and thanks!

    I actually just installed linux over everything and it works fine so I won't do much to solve this problem immediately.

    I think it is strange that it is so difficult to "reset" a partitions of hard disks. But in any case, thank you for your answer!

  • Can I delete all partitions and leave only the BONES? What are the implications?

    Hi all!

    I just bought a HP Pavilion desktop computer and I want to create a primary partition to install Linux and another to store my files, but I can have only 4 partitions on a drive, and the HP Pavilion comes with 3 partitions already.

    So, I think that the only partition required for Windows 7 is the appointed a "BONE", right?

    I imagine that if I delete the SYSTEM and HP_RECOVERY partitions? Windows will always start after I remove them?

    (I'm more worried about this SYSTEM partition... What is it anyway?)

    Thank you!

    OK, I was able to create 2 extended partitions and do what I wanted without having to remove anything... Thanks anyway!

  • Impossible to delete the partitions of a table with the number of rows is zero

    Hi all

    I want to delete all partitions on all the tables in a schema having the number of lines equal to zero.

    I use the queries below to get a solution.

    Select 'EDIT '. '' || 'TABLE ' | TABLE_NAME | 'DROP '. 'PARTITION | Nom_partition from dba_tab_partitions where TABLE_OWNER = "xyz";

    Select count (*) in the table table_name partition (nom_partition).

    Edited by: 887563 October 17, 2011 13:39

    If you trust your statistics, you can simply use the stat num_rows in dba_tab_partitions:

    select *
    from dba_tab_partitions
    where table_owner = 'MY_SCHEMA'
    and num_rows = 0;

    But I think what you try to get some code like this:

    declare
      v_rows number;
      v_statement varchar2(500);
    begin
      for c in (select *
                from dba_tab_partitions
                where table_owner = 'MY_SCHEMA') loop
        v_statement := 'select count(*) from '||c.table_name||
                       ' partition ('||c.partition_name||') where rownum=1';
        --dbms_output.put_line(v_statement);  --for debugging
        execute immediate(v_statement)
        into v_rows;
        --dbms_output.put_line(c.table_name||' '||c.partition_name||' '||v_rows);  --for debugging
        if v_rows = 0 then
          v_statement := 'ALTER TABLE '||c.TABLE_NAME||' DROP PARTITION ' || c.PARTITION_NAME;
          dbms_output.put_line(v_statement); --shows the drop statements
          --execute immediate(v_statement); --remove comment to execute
        end if;
      end loop;
    end;

  • Create a mapping of partition will delete all my data?

    I have serious problems with a hard disk. I have vital data and do not lose them. After much research, I have concluded that the partition plan is down. My question is: create a map of partition will delete all my data? "I found this app ' iPartition" who is able to create an apple partition map but warns me that my data will be lost. I remember from my research that people were saying that the data will be fine. Could someone help me! I think I'm losing it: p

    Creating a new partition map will not physically destroy the data on your HARD drive, but it will make it inaccessible. You need to start some recovery/restore software tools to recover your data. But the 100% success is not guaranteed. You are most probably going to lose some or all of your data in this process.

    Before trying anything, get an another HARD drive of the same size as the original, and create a clone (e.g. using dd in the Terminal). It must be a clone like that would give you an exact copy of the original, including the partition table broke and all the data on all partitions.

    When you have your clone store the original HARD disk in a safe place and carry out all repairs and attempts at recovery on the clone. In this way whatever you do degrades the original HDD already weakened.

    An alternative to the above process would be to find a company that specializes in restoring the data. But who can become very, very, very expensive.

    BTW, if you do not have a backup of your data, it cannot be so important. I suggest that start to implement a backup procedure now.

    Now hard drive only shows no disc computer does no boot device.

    I lost my MBR? I win 10 on USB and could run partdisk, but do not know how and if my key of the OS also went. IS your key WIn 8 (or 10) saved to drive hard or in the material?

    Hi @Quikstix,

    Thank you for posting. I read your post, and I understand that you were trying to do a clean install of Windows 10.

    If you delete the operating system on your hard drive, you must use the support/recovery disks to restore the system first. Then you can upgrade the system to Windows 10 and perform a clean installation.

  • How can I delete a partition and get all the free space?

    I have a partition on my computer, Local C drive and the Local disk D.  C drive is extremely low, free space and disk D is very high with free space. I am trying to delete the partition and have all the free space from D to C. is there someone who can help me maybe?  It would be greatly appreciated!

    Download the free Easeus Partition Master of http://www.easeus.com .  Keep in mind that there may be files on D: to restore factory settings, so do not delete if this is the case.

    You must use the disk utility to remap your partitions, while the drive is connected.

    Some partitions are partitions to restore using the restore of Mac OS X internet functionality.

  • delete a partition

    I have an external hard drive which had three partitions. My goal is to keep the contents of a partition on the disk and eliminate the other two. I deleted the partitions unwanted using disk utility but I can't well a way to totally eliminate the partitions. How to totally eliminate leaving them a disc without any partition.

    I deleted the partitions unwanted using disk utility but I can't well a way to totally eliminate the partitions. How to totally eliminate leaving them a disc without any partition.

    Disk utility and repartition your hard drive 1 partition. You select the real drive, not no matter what partition under. Then click Partitions. From there, select the partition you want to delete, and then click the sign less. When you select a partition should be fired to blue. Utility disk in El Capitan is very confused.

    I guess your pie chart partition can do appear 3 partitions. Select one at a time, and then click the minus sign. When all 3 are deleted, SOME may appear as untitled 1 partition which should be all the space on your external drive.

    To be honest I ve no experience with these external hard drives, but generally the scores of all would be removed from the HARD drive if you want to format the HARD drive.

    Try to format it!

  • Can't find/delete Bootcamp Partition

    Tried to use bootcamp to create a partition for my copy of windows, that I just got. He was suspended for a while creating the partition, so I force-quit it as several users online said to try to resolve the situation. Tried then to find and delete the partition, he tried to create. Ended up crashing the disk utility or something so I force restarted the computer to see if that helped. Now I can't find the partition on the disk utility at all, it shows the drive as having 1 TB less than expected (the size of the partition, I created or attempted to create), and he does it for some reason, introduce yourself when I press 'alt' on my keyboard on the computer.

    Is there a way to delete this partition and try this again without any reformatting my hard drive and restore from backup? I have a time machine backup, I don't want to wait 12 hours for 1 TB of data to be transferred...

    Please see the solution in doesn't have windows via bootcamp 8.1 installation .
