They are a collection of unsubscribed contacts, hard-bouncebacks or disqualified leads Salesforce - i.e. cash for our course and adding zero value. I want to get out them of our system, but I'm curious about the consequences of their deletion. A few concerns:

  • What happens to campaign/email reporting? I have a campaign with 100 people who sent an email. 25 opened it, clicked 10, 5 submitted a form. But then, what happens if these 5 people are removed from the DB Eloqua? Will be my stats still see the 100 sent, 25 open 10 clicked, 5 shapes or it will show 95 / 20 / 5 / 0?
  • What process / best practices can share on the removal of the wires when there is an active sync with current CRM? For example, I'm worried about one of the scenarios are deleted Eloqua contacts potentially returning by auto-synch in our CRM.

  Hi Richard - this process makes me nervous every time I have clean the database! According to my experience, the deleted contacts show as "Delete contact" in your deletion notification message. So, you're not losing your settings, you just know that a deleted contact was a person outside your target audience.

  We also have integration with a CRM. We use SFDC. I learned from the last cleaning I needed to change our sync to exclude the contacts and prospects reported as disqualified. This means, that they conclude Eloqua via forms. Then see each other in SFDC and rank accordingly. This allows us to remove the "junk" of Eloqua and SFDC don't send them back on since they are marked as such. This assistance only on a front well since I also want to remove our inactive 'not qualified' son and contacts, including those that that we want to market, but don't sell, and our hard bouncebacks. For our scenario, we make another stop in place in the integration, which I will work on it now.
