  I suggest you to clear the database of Windows Media Player and see if the problem still occurs.

  To do:

  a. press the Windows key + R and type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.

  b. Select all files in the folder, and then click delete on the file menu.

  Note You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

  d. restart Windows Media Player.

  Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

  If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

  a. press the Windows key + R and type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoftand then click OK.

  b. Select the Media Player folder, and then click delete on the file menu.

  c. restart Windows Media Player.

  In general, it is safe to delete anything in the Temp folder.  Sometimes, you can get a "Cannot be deleted because the file is in use" message, but you can just ignore these files.

  For safety, do your Temp directory deletion right after you restart the computer.  Sometimes a program installer will put something in the Temp directory it needs to complete the installation after a reboot.  If you restart and wait a bit so that they were, whatever left in the Temp folder should be OK to delete it.

  If you want to be conservative, use the built-in Disk Cleanup tool (type of cleaning disc in the search box).  If you select "Temporary files" as one of the elements to clean (deleted), by default, that Disk Cleanup removes only the files that have not changed in 7 days.

It has a funny name [~ t] and no extension. The file type, say "file". The properties are all screwed looking with a mistake on the Security tab, a size of 0 k, is a Windows (c) \Windows\en-US.The other files in this folder appear normal. The computer seems to work very well without any obvious problems. The only problem is my anti-virus reports with a kind of syntax for the file error and indicates it cannot parse this file. I do not. I can't do a thing with it either. Cannot open, rename, move, delete, change passwords, properties, permissions, nothing. It may be necessary for a good part with 0kb.   Hey bud, I figured out how fix it earlier. I am so happy. I came to remember a command called chkdsk which worked very well for various issues, that I had since the construction of my old 2000 Professional machine. I think that one was my first NTFS system. I always liked how well he error correction. Seemed a lot better than the old scandisk.   There are files in my library that I deleted the files, but the items still appear in my library. An example would be the items stored in the folder 'Public '.  When I right click on the file and choose 'Remove', nothing happens.  Any suggestions on how to get these files is no library WMP?  I tried already to 'Restore the library' and I also tried "sfc/scannow", which did not find any problem.

  Delete the database of Windows Media Player and check if the problem persists.

  To do this, follow these steps:

  1. exit Windows Media Player.

  Deleting files from the i386 is not recommended, unless you have a genuine Windows XP installation CD. Sometimes the files in c:\i386 (or C:\Windows\ServicePackFile\i386) are needed to replace a damaged operating system file.  It doesn't happen very often, but if this happens to you and you have deleted the files, then you may need to use the Windows XP installation CD to replace the files.

  • Close all running applications.
  • Open Task Manager (press CTRL + ALT + DELETE)
  • Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
  • Type the following in the black command prompt window, and then press ENTER after each line
    CD folder
    dir b * (this step is only to list all the files to confirm that you have changed the appropriate directory, make sure that BCGECE.) TEMP is in the list)
  • In Task Manager, find explorer.exe in the processes list, select it, then click on "end process."  Your desktop will become empty except for open windows from the command prompt and the Task Manager
  • Return to the command prompt window and type the following line and press enter
    del BCGECE. TEMP
  • In the Task Manager, click file > new task (run...) and type explorer.exe in the area. Click OK. Your desktop should reappear
  • Close the Task Manager windows command prompt

  If for any reason the foregoing does not, from the start in a "clean boot" configuration XP and delete the file in the usual way.   Use "Method 2" (manual method) to the linked article.
