    C:\WINDOWS

    $NtUninstallKB2719985$

If your PC behaves properly, you can remove hidden files fix for Windows backup in WINDOWS folder, whose names begin with $NTUninstallKB. Be aware that once they are removed you will not be able to uninstall the updates they represent. Remove only the $NTUninstallKB files that relate to corrections, not those for applications such as Word, WMP, etc.. In addition, DO NOT DELETE THE folder$ $hf_mig.

Just in case you need it, copy the files on a CD/DVD to enable their restoration if a correction needs to be uninstalled later. Now delete the folder \WINDOWS, but leaves the orphan entries to add / remove programs intact.

In C:\Documents&Settings\username\, there is a hidden folder named Local Settings, and to whom a Temp folder with many files. It is safe to delete these files?

Yes.  In fact, if you are using disk cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr.exe > OK) it will delete all files in this directory that have been consulted at least 7 days ago.

You can go directly to this folder by typing the folder in the start menu > run box and click OK.

Nothing in the Windows or Program Files and files their subfolders should be left alone.  You won't earn a significant amount of disk space, and you may cause to yourself untold trouble sleeping herein.  Use instead the provided Windows Disk Cleanup.  You can get to it by clicking on start-> computer, then click on the C: drive and click Properties.  On the general tab, you will see disk cleanup.  Use it and you will be safe (and not sorry).  Everything you personally placed on the computer can always be removed of course as long as you do not try to remove installed manually the software (use the programs and features in the control panel for this).

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

  • It is safe to delete the files under C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download

My C drive is full and I went through the cleaning process several times.  I noticed that all the files day added on drive C under C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download.  Can I safely delete these files?  They add up to 100 to 200 MB per day.

    Hello

The "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution" folder is where the updates are stored.

There are views mixed in all areas on the deletion of this file, but my opinion is that if you stop the automatic updates, delete the folder and then restart automatic updates who works and who has worked several times before for me.

  • Is it safe to delete the original score after successful cloning?

I have a Mac mini mid2010. I swapped his optical drive to an SSD. Then I cloned the operating system partition and everything works perfectly. My question is whether it is safe to delete the original "Macintosh HD" that I cloned, or if there is a way to keep its files being accessible if I don't get them mixed up.

    Thank you

Delete the old folder on the internal drive home page only. I should leave everything alone in case you need to boot from this drive. However, in general, it is safe to reformat the hard drive. But it depends on what you plan to do with it.

  • Is it safe to delete the partition OSXRESERVED? because it is still there after the installation of windows 10

I recently got a MacBook Pro 15 "2015 model retina running MacOSX 10.11.5 El Capitan.

My steps for installing Windows 8.1:

Create a. ISO file from DVD installation disc and save it. ISO on a USB Flash drive.

run bootcamp and run the. Location of the ISO on the usb flash drive.

    The SSD partition

and then it reboot and the windows installer is on and I finish installing Windows 8.1

then the program to install bootcamp drivers intervenes and installs the drivers

then it restarts and I upgraded towing 10 Windows later and update the bootcamp drivers

Then I start to Mac OS X, but the OSXRESERVED partition is still there.

And when I restart by pressing the option key, I see 1 Macintosh HD but 2 displayed Windows disks

Is it safe to delete the partition OSXRESERVED?  I read online that deleting it will cause 10 Windows do not to start over.

Or should I leave it alone?

In addition, my HDD was reduced in size considerably, from more than 50%. (C:). It was 1 to when I got it, but after you have reinstalled Windows because of a problem, I am now made it is 451 GB.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Conner,

Thanks for keeping us posted and share this information with us.

As Palcouk suggested, you can remove the "Windows.old" folder if you have saved data on the computer.

It is not possible for the drive to shrink. I would like you to check the amount of space on the hard disk after you remove the Windows.old folder.

Let us know if you have other questions about Windows in the future. We will be happy to help you.

  • safe to delete the drive working?

    Hello world

each PP so often forget where my AE files even if one thing has not changed, and it requires me to link new and new rendering.

I feel that my drive to work is filled with unnecessary files now take a lot of space. I don't mind made... Is it safe to just delete the folder where I store my scratch media or am I missing something / is there a way to remove the useless files?

    I use CS6

It is safe to remove files generated as previews, .cfa and .pek files PP.  Premiere Pro will simply regenerate the files that needed when he needs them.

However, AE project files are not on this list of things safe to delete.
