  Just go to Windows Live mail. then go to the junk e-mail folder. Now, right-click on any mail and go to Properties. You can see the location of this e-mail in the junk e-mail folder. Example of this my

  That your description sounds a lot to Norton anti virus, but others do.

  Multiple copies of the same message are repeated almost always anti virus analyzes incoming messages. Disable analysis and the problem goes away then turn it on and it resumes.

  My guess is that your filter problems and research problems are also associated with this uniquitous and most ignored security tool that mess so far more than it should...

My guess is it is scanning the files in your profile, every time that Thunderbird tries to open and turning usually things in a fierce struggle, including Thunderbird loses that he just does not wait if files are locked.   Flash is not in the folder files Firefox or Firefox Applications programs. This and many other Plugins (not Extensions) are "installed" / pointed to by the Windows registry and the real files are in other locations on your hard drive.

  Have you tried to uninstall all THE Adobe Flash from your system and start over?

  Deleted file recovery can recover incomplete files, i.e. the part of these files may be missing.  Recover deleted files is much more reliable if recovery of a backup, instead of using recovery software.

  These things depend on the operating system and the file system.

  One thing, you can see: open one of these files damaged with a text editor, and then make sure that the constant % PDF is somewhere in the first 1024 bytes.

Once more, if I worked on the second instance of the name I could rename it but would be foiled again if the first instance. Then, * I think * (extra large grains of salt here) is that I renamed the second instance and removed from the trash that I could then work on the others and rename and empty the trash.

  But everything for nothing. If I closed Thunderbird and restarted the duplicate folder names reappearing. Then I tried the fix given for not being able to delete messages because of a corrupt trash folder. That did not help either. Even if I use a POP account and could remove the files from the two basket my account information, whenever I would restart Thunderbird trash will reappear by himself and the so-called deleted duplicate files right with her and in the hierarchy of their original folder.

  I'm mystified and have given up trying to remove these things. Fortunately, the removal of messages from other folders and empty the trash of these messages seem to work normally. I have not yet tried to delete another folder and hesitate to do.
