  I uninstalled photoshop cs6

  I reinstalled photoshop CS5

  Then I reinstalled photoshop CS6

  Then came the update and... .Wauw id work this time

  Try to restore Photoshop preferences to default.

  Steps to follow:

  To re-create the Photoshop preferences files, start the application while pressing Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or command + Option + shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop settings file?"

  Fear the idea is that you test the software and if you make a purchase. Photoshop is not freeware. If someone were to give you a product key that would be software piracy. It would also be a very stupid thing to do because if you put CS6 on more than one machine their copy may stop working.
