Deletion of a particular dimension in a planning application

Hi all

Can you get it someone pls. Let me know, how can we remove a dimension from a planning application. Thanks in advance

Kind regards
PVR

Hello

Please follow the steps below to delete a dimension of planning an application. I hope it helps

MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE A BACKUP OF YOUR APPLICATIONBEFORE TO TRY THIS PROCEDURE.
You need to remove all the children first, then the dimension.
If you have the dimension of forms, you may need to also (after step 5) go in the hsp_formobj_def_mbr table and remove the allreferences of this ID of the object. Then delete the low id in the thehsp_form_layout table. Recycle planning services.
Procedure:
If you create a dimension in planning and you want to delete, here's how you can manually remove SQL. We recommend that only someone familiar with relational databases attemptthis.
The following assumptions are made on thedimension:
* No form were all references to thedimension.
* Any attribute dimensions have beenremoved of the dimension.
* All members have been removed from the thedimension.
* All access security has been removed fromdimension.
* Any aliases associated with the dimension has been deleted.
In this example, we created a dimension called DummyDimension.
1. Open Enterprise Manager for SQL server
2. open the database with your planning application
3. open the HSP_OBJECT table
4. you need to find the line that carries the name of dimension, that you want to remove
5. take note of the OBJECT_ID
6. open the HSP_MEMBER table
7 find and remove all lines that have an equal MEMBER_ID to the OBJECT_ID of step 5
8. close the Table HSP_MEMBER
9. open the HSP_MRU_MEMBERS table
10. find and delete all the lines that have an equal DIM_ID to the OBJECT_ID of step 5
11 close the HSP_MRU_MEMBERS table
12. open the HSP_DIMENSION table
13. find and remove all lines that have an equal DIM_ID to the OBJECT_ID of step 5.
14. close the HSP_DIMENSION table
15. also delete it is the reference to the HSP_UNIQUE_NAMES table.
16 remove the line in the HSP_OBJECT table that you found in step 4.
17 close the HSP_OBJECT table.
18 open ASA for the application and remove the size of the necessary Essbase outline.
19. restart the application of Planning Server.
Now when you open the application in the planning dimension is removed.
The next step is to perform a refresh to do of course planning and Essbase are synchronized.

    Hello

I just wanted to know if it is possible to add another dimension to an already existing planning application. The application has years of data.

    Is it logically possible?

    Thanks in advance!

Yes, it is possible to add a dimension if you do not need to examine the existing data.

  • Unable to open the form and dimension on Hyperion Planning

    Hello

I'm working on Hyperion version 11.1.1.3 on my customer environment (Microsoft Windows Server 2003).
There are two servers: one is at the database and essbase, the other is for the reporting, the Foundation and planning.

Since a month ago this customer experiences this problem:
When connect via admin user to Hyperion Planning (19000 and 8300 port can both be used), the menu on the upper part is loaded but the rest are empty.
I tried to open the form by using the menu on the left, but also does not work, always empty. I also managed to try to open the dimension, it cannot be loaded
restarted the service, and the server also, but does not work as well.

NB: this error occurs only on the id of the admin, I tried to create another user account and give the same provision with admin, id works well, no problems and no case empty.

could someone please advice what happened and the solution, I give my thanks to you.

You are looking in the system of planning practice, take a look at the diagram of the planning application.

  • Delete the Planning Application

    Hi all

I want to delete my planning application, please someone provide detailed information.
    I use 11.1.1.3 version on Server 2003.

    Thank you

Go to the planning administration in the workspace, or directly go http://: 8300/HyperionPlanning/AppWizard.jsp
Select the application and click on delete.
If it's the EPMA, you should be able to select the application in the application library and remove.

  • How to load dimensions and members in the planning application

    Hi all

I'm trying to load dimensions and members in planning. I know that size of loading is not recommended by Essbase but I wanted to give it a try. I tried to load the dimensions through rule files, but it threw an error that the "members do not exist in the database. Is this an indication that the data may not be loaded at all the in the planning your application through Essbase.

Thanks advanced for all the answers!

If it is a planning application, you must load the metadata/dimension planning first. You cannot load the metadata directly to Essbase as it will be overwritten when you refresh planning.

You can read the documentation to understand how planning works. Planning is an interface that sits on top on Essbase. However, Planning metadata are stored in database tables and it is would be synch with Essbase via Hyperion Planning refresh.

In order to load the metadata to the planning, I suggest you to open a session on planning and attempting to manually build the dimensions first to know how the planning interacts with Essbase. You can load the metadata in planning thanks to:

    1. manually
2 ODI: You will need to reverse the planning your application and then use it to load the metadata
3 schema utility load on planning server.

Remember, all the planning is done via interface planning interviews and not by Essbase.

  • Name of the different dimension in a library of applications and planning application

In dimension Dimension library and application library name is CC_Entity, in the Planning & Essbase is the name of the entity dimension. Application has been deployed recently. Why the size are not the same (the children of the dimension are the same) name? How can this be repaired? This could be a reason why BR validate against the planning application, but not against Essbase (it's in the Calc Manager)?
    Thank you in advance.

Select the name of the Dimension system property. For example, CC_entity. See if the Alias of the entity Dimension. The dimension in planning is the Alias "Dimension".
    I hope this helps.

  • Extraction of Dimension of planning application by EPMA line Generator

    Hello

I have an application of EPMA planning (in version 11.1.1.2) and I need to extract its dimensions in a file of ads. I'm using EPMA line Generator 9.3.1 for this purpose.
I'm selecting the tab "From Planning Application" and enter all necessary details, but when I run... I get the error "unable to get metadata. Please check the web URL, the application name and application server. »

I checked the web URL that is:
    http:// < Server > name: 8300/HyperionPlanning
and my name of the application and the server are also correct...

Please help me to know what exactly is the past wrong here...

    Thank you and best regards,
    AK

Why do you use 9.3.1 version, is there not a more recent version of \Hyperion\products\Foundation\BPMA\EPMAFileGenerator\
Also if it an EPMA application, you can use EPMA tab to generate ADS.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Thr,

You can try one of the below one:
    (1) use excel add and drill to the bottom of the hierarchy of entities
    (2) planning and essbase have the same hierarchy, why not use an extractor of contour in the essbase
    (3) Sql query on the realtion to correct hierarchy table
    (4) ODI
    (5) the file EPMA generator from a planning application can be used to take directly extract EPMA (if you EPMA)

  • Member for years non-standard in the dimension of the planning years

We have a non-standard (planning) the dimension member years called 'No year '. In order to add it to the start, I had to go to the back end of the schedule (tables HSP_OBJECT and HSP_UNIQUE_NAMES) and edit the members there. It was version 9. The order of the years members was then FY95 through FY14, then came year no., then FY15. It worked for our years of start and end in the planning, as our school was FY09 and our end of the year was the year of no., allowing us to the regime through FY14 and entry year no data specific to year n on the forms. It also allowed us to omit 'Year No' of our scripts using a range of FY09:FY14 years (using substitution variables). Now that the year overturned (and, incidentally, we have upgraded to version 11) and our years of planning are FY10 thanks FY15, I would move no. year after FY15. However, I do not seem to be able to do in updating underlying tables above. I make the changes for the two tables, but it is not reflected in the schedule (they appear in the order), and if I try to change it or the other of the two members in the planning (year or FY15), it gives me an error indicating that the Member already exists. Anyone know how I can do to move the No. year Member? I need to not only this year, but to have a process my client can follow each year, moving from that Member within the outline to be directly after the last year of planning.

    Thank you

    Sabrina

If you want to go on the tables of piracy and changing the order of 'No year '.

If you run the SQL on your planning application

    Select * from hsp_object where type_objet = 38

You can see the column in position and will have values like 1000000 = first place, 1000010 = Second Place and so on.

To change the position you have to raise the value of position of 'No year' and 'FY15.

    setting a day of position set hsp_object = '1000070'
    where type_objet = 38 and object_name = 'No year '.

    setting a day of position set hsp_object = '1000080'
    where type_objet = 38 and object_name = 'FY14.

Restart planning. Now all this is done at your own risk, and when you app goes boom don't blame me :)
If 'No year' has been added in the right direction when you add the year, he must always remain as the last position.

Planning rights object between adjustment ranges ID holders, the normal year (FY..) values are 50002 go
No year is out of this range for example 50412
When no. year is added correctly then planning will add a new to the normal range of values for the year (the year last value + 1) and then changes it the order of position

  • Setting the Dimensions through the planning of Performance parameters and error

On 9.3.1 planning and doing a clean-up of legacy applications. Dimensional parameters of Performance tab when trying to move a Member more or less beyond the dimension 'Years' I get the error:

An error occurred while processing this page. See the log for more details

OK this error log? I went through all and see exactly the problem

    JTS

    Hello

That means that when you clicked on the button migration in your 9.3.1 it do not update the repository planning app.
I would of thought, it would errrored out when you tried to migrate.

In any case you have two options, try, and try the migration again.

Or run sql commands that are stored on the planning server, if you look in \Hyperion\Planning\config\sql
you will see a lot of .sql files.

Essentially when the migration is performed according to the version that you are migrating from it will run these scripts.

Depending on your type of db for example Oracle, SQL Server defines which sql scripts, you must run against your planning application.

If Oracle is your db, you run.
    4_1_1Migration_Oracle.SQL
    9_3_0Migration_Oracle.SQL
    9_3_1Migration_Oracle.SQL

Stop planning before you run the scripts if you go this route.

I hope that I have will have finally got this question correct :)

  • creation of planning using dimensions in epma essbase application

    Hi guys,.

I already create an empty application in planning using epma. I have load the essbase application in the console of shared services and I can see the essbase application in epma. My problem is how can I use the essbase application to load dimension in planning?

Does anyone have any ideas? Any response is highly appreciated

    Thank you
    Hanson

    Hi Hanson,

One Option would be to be extracted the essbase outline in the text (preferably in Parent child format) through outline Extractor (available on internet) format and then use this file extracts to create the dimension of epma and then load in the planning application.

  • Accounts for plan 1 dense and sparse for plan 2 to a Hyperion Planning application

    Nice day

I have two cubes in Hyperion Planning Application only, I wish that both have a Dense accounts cubes and for the second sparse accounts.

The cube that I have held with sparse accounts is mainly because I like the accounts of 600 to 800 and I need to have several attributes (with Dimensions of attributes to accounts).

As far as I know the Dimension type of "Accounts" allow attributes dimensions when is sparse, but in Hyperion planning if the second cube accounts is Dense it me does not have this feature. Anyone know if this is an expected behavior? A bug? Or my mistake?

    Kind regards

    Take a look on:-http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/hp_admin/attr_man.html

    * "The account dimension is usually defined as dense, thus impossible to assign attributes to it unless it is replaced by sparse for all types of plan. If you replace a sparse dense dimension, all attributes and the values of the attributes of this dimension are deleted. » *
