Deletion of attributes in UNITY (offline Home Server) user accounts

Hello

I have Windows accounts with the UNIT attributes set on a former home of UNITY server. For this reason, I am unable to configure these users on my new server of the UNIT. How can I remove these attributes in order to configure them on the new server. The UNIT of the 'old' is currently offline and I am unable to get it back online... UNITY UM 4.0.5

Thank you

Kind regards

Mike

HI -.

On your new Unity server, go to the unity tools depot. Under Diagnostic tools, there is a utility called Remove Subscriber Properties. This utility uses Active Directory and looks a lot like ADSIEdit. It can be used to remove the attributes of unity of subscribers when the unity server has been deleted without making a first uninstall or remove the Subscriber within the SA of the unit.

  • Create an extremely limited in Windows XP Home Edition user account

I'm editing a user account on my virtual machine running Windows XP Edition family, such that a user can only view their Documents and Settings folder and NOT the windows, Program Files, and all other important files to the computer. When I tried to just go right click > properties > check hidden (on the Windows folder), I found myself not being able to reconnect to all accounts and having to do a re - install. How can I change the XP Home Edition settings to prevent the display of records outside the Documents and Settings?

The overall goal of what I'm trying to accomplish here is to emulate a school or workplace environment where the user is very limited with what they can do (even more limited than the guest account).

Any help with this, including 3rd useful third-party tools, or how to do it without third-party tools would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

I suggest that you follow these steps and check if that's what you want to achieve.

    Encrypt files.

    a. Select the folder you want to encrypt.
    b. right-click on the folder, and then click Properties.
    c. click on the sharing tab.
    d. check the box make this confidential folder
    e. click on apply and then OK.

Make sure this private folder is grayed out

To make this option work on Microsoft Windows XP home, you must meet the requirements.

    1. the hard drive must be formatted in NTFS and not the FAT32 file system.
    2. the folder you are trying to encrypt must be in your personal folder. For example, if your name is bob, you be encrypt a folder which is or which is contained in the sub folder:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Bob\

You can't encrypt all files outside of this folder. If you want to encrypt outside of this folder, see the bottom of the other security solutions.

I would like to add a password to secure my PC a little more by doing the following:
AutoScan (Vista Orb) > Control Panel > user accounts > create a password for your account
I enter a password to 10 characters. I tried more or less characters, a mixture of uppercase and lowercase letters and numbers etc, but everything I try I get the following message:

"The password you entered does not meet the password policy requirements. Check the minimum password length, password complexity and password history requirements"

I am running Vista Home Basic.

I checked the Windows updates are all to date.

I tried to create a new user account and create a password for the new account (both of my main user account and the new user account) and I get the same message.

I also activated the 'Administrator' account (cmd > net user administrator / Active: Yes) and tried to use the administrator account to create a password and it does not work either!

I ran Microsoft Security Essentials software, choose scan "Full". The software found no viruses or malware on my computer, but he did put in quarantine RealVNC (software remote access we use occasionally to work).

  • User account deleted when I uninstalled Office 2010 Beta, how do I get it back?

    Details:

    • I am using Windows XP Pro SP3
    • I had already installed MS Office 2010 Beta. When I went to use it recently, I learned the period Beta was over and I was given two options: 1) buy Office 2010 or 2) uninstall. I chose to uninstall. When I restarted the computer after uninstalling, my user account has been deleted.
    • Fortunately, I had an another user account with administrative access, but it is never/rarely used, so when I opened this account is like watching a new computer desk. I see again all my files on the C drive of the other account, but they are all read only files.
    • I restarted the computer in safe mode at a given time, with networking and could see my old user account. Now I'm trying to find a way to recover permanently.

  • Windows Home Server 2011 complete system restore problem = cannot start the LAN adapter

Network adapter Atheros AR8151 PCI-E on the map connected to the LAN Cat6

    Windows Pro 10

Windows Home Server 2011 on LAN

I had a hard drive failure partial who gave no symptoms or errors except a VERY slow start-up and operation.  I tried to do a restore of the entire system of my Home Server 2011 backups to see if, perhaps, just the image was corrupt.  USB was created and all drivers copied from pilots for the full system restore folder.  Has started the full restoration of the system and loaded the missing NETWORK adapter driver by using the scanner for drivers.  Driver support was successful but no lights NIC and the message "cannot find server".  NETWORK card was working fine before, even with the bad hard drive and also after the abandonment of the restoration.  Installed the new drive hard C:-System and that was the main problem, BUT..., the later to restore attempt was always the NIC starts not problem.  Tried the driver directly at Gigabyte support and drivers drivers for the full restoration of the system of records from several different backups.  No love.  Just NIC does not start after the specified load successful pilot.

    All good advice?

  • We need a replacement for Windows Home Server that does not cost $700

We need a replacement for windows home server that does not cost as much as a PC. 2011 is not really available and 2008 has compatibility problems, because it is based on XP and Server 2003. None of the motherboard manufactures will support XP (thanks to MS) and more recent SATA drives do not work in my motherboard more old.

  • Cannot partition on Windows Home Server

    The problem:
We are currently the main C drive partitioned 20 GB and we cannot repartition try with several different partition tools.  The error via a tool, it's "the volume you have selected cannot be extended.  Other tools to give similar messages.  The hard drive is 250 GB RAID 1 mirror.

    What we tried:

A suggestion according to the https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/841650 does not include the home server edition so can't take the risk that she clearly serve States own risk.  We tried Acronis partition software, G-Parted, diskpart.exe command BACK and Macrorit http://macrorit.com/partition-magic-manager/server-diskpart-fails-to-extend-system-partition.html

    Other suspicious Info:

    1. System Properties window says that the operating system is 'Windows Home Server'.

2 window Information System indicates that the operating system is 'Windows 2003 Small Business Server. "

The person who owns that server call purchase Home Server edition.  Not sure if this is related or not, but it's conflicting information to find a solution.

Bottom line, even if that server is outdated and not fully supported any longer, we hope to keep alive a little more long if possible if we simply repartition C drive and increase the free space.  Other than replacing the server suggestions are appreciated because they are not willing to spend the money to replace the entire server.

  • Non-native install copy of Windows Home Server

Hi, I was hoping that someone could erase something for me.

I have an OEM of Windows Home Server 2011 version that I bought in England, when he arrived in the post that I realized that it is a German copy, probably why it was so cheap.

I'm not really bothered about it, if I can just change the language during or even after the installation. My question is this a problem or problem further down the line or the whole operating system will be identical to a UK copy if I change the language and regional settings?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'd rather not go back if I can't.
