Dell 9150 RAM upgrade

I want to improve my 9150 RAM from Dell at the current address. It comes with 2 GB (4 x 512 MB).

My question is:

Can *) I upgrade RAM to 4 GB (2x2gb) leaving 2 4 empty slots?

*) If so, which of the following RAM will recommend you?

-2GB (single stick) Value Select Corsair PC-5300 (667 MHz)

- RAM DDR2 2 GB PC5300 DDR2 667 Kingston(unique key)
*) Can I mix is above mark with my existing 2x512MB so that I will have

5 GB of memory in total? -screenshot of the attached spec.

Personally, I would prefer Geil, but I could not find 2 GB module here. The reason

I let the other empty coz 2 slots I can put forward a different memory of 4 GB and

upgrade to 64-bit OS.

see you soon,

  • Dell Optiplex RAM Upgrade 790

I recently bought a Dell Optiplex 790 desktop computer.

Data sheet: i5 2400, RAM 4 GB (2 X 2 GB DIMMS), I can pass the ram by installing 2 more 2 GB DIMM to make a total of 8 GB or do I need to install 2 X 4 GB to 8 GB of RAM.

If you have 4 DIMM slots, you can make 4x2GB. If you have 2 slots DIMM, you must do 2 x 4 GB.

  • Portege R100: RAM upgrade

    I have a Toshiba Portege R100 (1 GHz, 512 MB RAM)

RAM modules of 256 MB is still, the other is removable (so I was told).

I think the move to Vista and so to upgrade my RAM.

Will be all DDR SODIMM PC2100 266 Mhz module works, or are there specific brands / specifications should I use?

Normally paired RAM is used for optimal performance, but I saw with unmatched sold Dells of RAM (1 GB and 2 GB for example). What are the disadvantages (if any) to use a module of 1 GB or 512 GB with the fixed 256 MB module?

PC2100 is now more expensive than backward compatible PC2700. A module of 1 GB of RAM of PC2700 compatible (PC2100) to the rear will work with the 256 MB PC2100 fixed?

    Richard

    You can install a universal DDR1 Sodimm PC2100 * or * module PC2700

He will work with the memory of base without problem, but of course, the PC2700 will be 'downgraded' to PC2100.

  • XPS 8900 RAM upgrade options?

    Hi all

I just got the Dell xps 8900 (had upgraded to 256 GB SSD, GTX 980 and now to upgrade some DDR4 RAM.)

I see she has 2 of the MTA8ATF51264AZ-2G1A2 4 GB SDRAM Micron now, my option I can get more for Memory4less 117,60 $2 to make it 16 GB of total RAM?

However, I see some Crucial memory (32GB) for almost the same price, but do not know if those that are compatible with the xps specification 8900.

Please let me know what RAM upgrade you have or suggestions for me.

    Thank you

Go to the website of Crucial and which is compatible with your model. Essential is a good place for the memory of a dell computer. Corresponding exactly what you already have is always a good choice but if you buy from Crucial ram, get it directly from Crucial instead of a 3rd party vendor. It's too risky. Essential guarantees that their ram working or you can return it.

  • RAM upgrade: have to return another brand - what should I choose and I'll lose dual channel?

    Hi all

I spent some time looking for the forums for someone who faced a similar situation, but I couldn't find one. It was a little surprising, but good...

I have an inspiron 6400 with 1 GB of ram 4300 pc2 occupying only one memory card. I had planned this out when buying with the hope of upgrading in the future (i.e., now!). I understand that pc2 4300 is essentially the same as pc2 4200. cpuz shows me: Hyundai Electronics PC2-4300, DRAM: 266 MHz, FSB:DRAM 5:8. (?? This looks like a very impressive RAM stick, I'm right?). I can post more specifications if necessary.

I went on this Crucial ram site and had my system analyzed with their analysis tool, and recommended a second stick of RAM, but this time it's a pc2 5300 (667 MHz). My system is capable of dual channel, but my question is this: if I pair the pc2 installed by dell 4300 RAM with this stick of crucial pc2 5300, I'll have to dual channel? More important, I guess, it will count? I heard the benefit of the performance of the dual channel is about 15%, is that correct?

Everywhere that I've read, people point out that the two RAM sticks must be identical, but identical in what? Capacity will be the same, is it enough?

The other option is to buy a kit of 2 (5300) GB of crucial, but I had rather not throw a good stick of pc2 4300. Is this a good stick of RAM?

    Thanks in advance

  • Satellite R630-13F - RAM upgrade

    Hi all

My R630 is faced with a newly added software for Photoshop (CS5 version). Whenever it is quite slow to open and try to merge the picture for the economy.

I was wondering if I can upgrade the RAM. With a very limited knowledge, I would like to know if I need to buy an additional (if there is a vacancy for it), or I need to get one to replace the old.

I think increasing the memory to 4 GB, but I was wondering if it will be enough for Photoshop. Thanks a lot for any input.

    Best wishes

    Tim

    Hey Buddy,

RAM upgrade is not a problem because it is easy and can be done in a few minutes.

Satellite R630 has Intel HM55 chipset, and the maximum capacity is 8 GB. This means that you can install 4GB module in each memory location. Also an upgrade to 4 GB is not a problem, you can keep your 2 GB module and just buy a new 2 GB module. The module DDR3-10066 part number is PA3676U-1M2G.

If you have more questions just after, again :)

  • Satellite 3000 - X 4: Question about RAM upgrade

    Hi all

I'm looking for more information on how to upgrade the RAM for my SATELLITE S3000 - X 4 (120 MB RAM, 14 GB HD I think!). Here's a little history...

This laptop is about 5 years old, and I'm hoping to speed up a bit. I don't want to buy a new computer because she usually serves my needs.

I emptied my hard drive files and unwanted programs. And I ran Jv16 Power Tools to clean the registry and minimize starts the process.

It's always a little slow and if I am considering upgrading the RAM because I think I can do this for about £50. My questions are:

What type of upgrade RAM should I look to buy? (This laptop have 2 RAM "plug-ins" or just one?)
What is the size of RAM upgrade is the maximum an S3000 - X 4 could face?
Could a novice like me to adapt to the style DIY upgrade?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

    Gabrielle

    Hi Gabrielle

He is old enough. I looked for some info, but unfortunately I n t have not found much. The device can use the 512 MB of RAM, and you can use 2 sticks of memory. I'm not 100% sure but I think you can use the module with tracking number PA3086U - 1. 25 M.

The unit is not known to me but please check the underside. On most units, you can find coverage of memory.

Kingston modules are good quality RAM modules.
Personally I always buy good quality RAM and I never had any problems of compatibility or performance.
You can read here in the forum on the problems of compatibility as laptop RAM power not on after RAM upgrade or similar
They always uses some modules at low cost.

In general you can use the modules of DDR3 1066 MHz (PC3-8500).
