Dell Inspiron (small desktop computer)

History: 1 t hard drive, 12 GB Ram, processor 3.6. I've had the computer for about 1.5 months. I have recently upgraded to Windows 10 (which I actually like). Recently he has started acting fragmentary and I though that maybe she needed to restart. Reboot, it is immediately went to Dell diagnostics and self help screen. You go through the different suggestions and then restart. When the computer reboots, it passes through the diagnostic program, bring back me into the blue of self-help page.

I'm writing this, it's being factory reset.

My questions: why would I need to factory reset on a new computer. so should I approve this computer even once?

Thank you for your comment.  I did a factory reset and since I was using chrome as my major browser once that I logged in that I got all of my information and bookmarks back.  I think because I disabled it, Internet Explorer both Windows 10 has been downloaded, the disabled program caused the problem.  This time I don't bother.  Only, I don't use IE (Microsoft edge or as it is called now).  On another note, I ran diagnostics and everything came back without error.

Thanks again.

Dell dimension 2400 desktop computer was plugged into the wireless router we have. We got a new computer and moved the old desktop (Dell 2400) in another room. It is not picking up, or even searching for a wireless signal. She still has this ability? How can we it give this ability?

The Dimension 2400 is not normally a built-in wireless networking capability.  To view, go to the Control Panel > Classic view > System > hardware > Device Manager and double-click network adapters .

If that doesn't show wireless network card, you can add it by buying a USB wireless network adapter or a Wireless PCI adapter card .

    Hello

1 - is the computer come pre-installed with the Windows Vista operating system?

    2. do you have a re-setup for the Windows Vista operating system disk?

    3. do you have external hard drives connected to the computer?

    Method 1:

The error indicates that the hard drive has failed. I suggest you to remove or top-sheet all external hard drives except the one in which the operating system is installed and check if the problem persists.

    Method 2:

If you have the Windows installation disc, I suggest to fix the computer using the disk and check if it works.

You have the Inspiron Desktop 3000 Series Mini Tower 3847, or Inspiron 3000 series small office 3647.

Yes, the two above support a PCIe x 16 discrete graphics card, but the Inspiron Desktop 3000 Series Mini Tower 3847, is the best model for the upgrade, because of the limitations of computer small desktop chassis.

Original title: My Dell Inspiron 560MT Office presents itself as the laptop & is now described as a laptop in the devices & printers after installing Microsoft updates.

I did a back to factory reinstall on my windows 7 destop & the appropriate icon on the desktop & description appeared in the devices & Printers: he has been described as a Dell Inspiron (I think or something like).
After searching & install microsoft updates the desktop icon ichanged to an icon of the laptop & my PC has been described as a laptop.

I downloaded the Microsoft Mr Fixit 50527 listed on this site (see below) for this problem. My icon briefly changed back to a desktop computer - I don't know if the text changed cell phone on the desk, as the icon returned to be very quickly - new: a laptop so I couldn't verify this.

It happened again - the icon changed to return a laptop icon & I am looking for more information, but some things seemed quite complicated.

In any case, I wondered what would happen if I unchecked "replace generic icons & then Microsoft has set as the fix has worked before, but only very briefly for a few seconds before changing to the wrong laptop icon.»

    So I just did--
A click with the right button on the laptop icon
Clicked on the device (from the list who came)
    Click "replace generic icons.

    Method 1:

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

  • Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop computer. Connected battery does not support. Can I use the adapter of a computer Dell Inspiron 630 M laptop?

In the last 2 days I had a problem as indicated in the title of this post. The fault corrected itself 3 times, but still, it's back to "plugged in, not load.» I use the laptop (Windows Vista Home Premium; 32-bit) on the card without problem, I assume that the card itself is not defective.

I also have a Dell Inspiron 630 M laptop running Windows 7.  Can I use this card with the laptop of Vista, without causing damage to the Vista?  If it is safe to do so, and begins to charge the battery on Vista, this would indicate that the Vista adapter/charger has a kind of fault.

Hoping someone can give me some advice. Thank you.

    Hello

So I recently got this Dell OptiPlex 760 desktop form factor that I really like and I would get a video card for it.

It's the desktop form factor. The second largest next to the mini tower. There a 240W (or 250?) food I don't want to change. I would like a GPU that works with a supply of 240 w.

I wish it were less than 60 dollars. I do some light games (Minecraft) and want to join a substantial amount of FPS with this game. Suggestions of the card?

    I'll give you more information.

It fits into all THE MODELS except the USFF because USFF has no slots.  You will need to remove the flange size and use the version of low profile.

Think about it an absolute must - manually update your drivers.

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods above
It is preferable to ensure that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are located)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.
