Dell N5050 - new hard drive, no WiFi

Just installed a new hard drive in a N5050 Dell laptop. I have no WiFi signal and the antenna is running. I guess that I have not installed a driver or something. I have the CD Driver provided with the laptop originally. There are only 2 choices for drivers. On East Realtek RTL81XX PCI - E card WLAN - I installed but it seems that this is not a wireless driver. It keeps saying that I have a loose cable. The other on the CD is 1525 Wireless Atheros WLAN Mini Card computers desktop, but when I try to install this one I get an error of installation DW: Setup cannot run on this platform. Please select package for your operating system. Should which driver I?

Hi all, hey just a note to say I've set. Since she had no internet signal I have download the drivers on a memory stick and then try to install on the laptop, but I kept getting errors in digital signature. What I ended up doing was restarted the laptop and press F8 to keep me my Start menu. Once there, I disabled the verification of signature. Rebooted and then the pilot had worked. Once I had a driver to work, I was able to connect to Dell, enter the number of my service and it looked all good drivers I need and install. After this, I restarted and press F8 and reactive the verification of digital signatures. It now works like a charm. Might have been a long journey around him, but I'm back in business. Thanks for all the ideas, they have certainly helped.

  • Reinstalling Vista on a new hard drive in a Dell XPS420

I have been using my Dell XPS 420 for years, but lately the C: drive (with Windows Vista Home Premium and the recovery partition) are dead. I had to reinstall Vista on a new hard drive. It went well until Vista was finished all the updates that are accumulated. He says that my Windows is not genuine, and he refused to go further than the connection. The Windows CD is Dell and it came with the computer. My Dell warranty expired a long time ago. Can anyone help?

Using the recovery process of the manufacturer normally does not require activation. It will activate itself during the recovery process.

  • Dell Inspiron 3520 - hard drive failure - how to install Windows 8 on the new hard drive

I bought Dell Inspiron 3520. My hard drive has stopped working completely. It was stated as dead hard drive by diagonstic center.

I have now bought a new hard drive but have lost data and windows 8 preload on the original hard drive. Dell did not provide any recovery disk for Windows 8 pre-loaded on portable hard drive. How can I then install windows 8 / 10 on my new hard drive?

The .iso image file official 10565 has only:

    • Overview of the House of insiders
    • Overview of the Insider Pro

Unfortunately, there are 5 editions of Windows 10 and so 3 are missing. If your key is not automatically entered and accepted, it's probably a simple language edition or edition N.

When Microsoft release 10586 - TH2 - 1511 Version they will probably have an .iso that contains all 5 editions in 1 .iso or alternatively 5 .isos distinct (I hope as the first case that it will make Windows installation much easier).

  • New hard drive Dell PE 1900

Just ordered 2 new hard drives of 300 GB of Dell $ 300 each.  Have Perc 5 / i Raid 5 config.  I was told that I could get 2 hard drives from WD a lot cheaper at microcenter who would work as well?  If I want with the Dells that are in transit?  Thank you

Depends on the model of WD drive. Nevere use desktop/laptop (green, blue) readers and do not use the NAS (red) drives. Only certain versions of readers RE are provided by WD to work on Dell DCs. So, if it's not a disc RE WD States are working on PERC controllers, and then use the readers of Dell. Also, for future use, don't order disks directly from Dell. Buy the same readers certified suppliers. For example:

I installed a new hard drive for my dell Inspiron 1525 and try to install windows 7. He asks me to install the driver. How to do it

Using the Dell recovery disks to reinstall?

    The origonal drive failed?

If you are using a real MS win dvd during the first part of the installation it can not find a drive or ask a driver, then the driver is obtained from Dell, specific to your model, its likely the driver sata, you need to download to say a USB and then point to this file when the installation application the third-party driver.

  • Dell Inspiron 8200 + new HARD drive

I bought a new hard drive for my Dell Inspiron 8200. But when I tried to install it I was faced with a problem. It seems that Seagate IDE 80 GB at 5400 RPM to the manufacturer S 9 1038-508 does not work with my laptop even if the sellers at the store assured me that it would work. As far I can see what the proplem that the pins on the HARD drive is not taking the laptop and the HARD drive box blocks 4 pins on the hard drive. But frankly say, I am surprised because the hard drive installed perfectly in 2 other laptops. He was spending money for nothing, or am I wrong?

    Hello

    I am currently using SMU 8108 with SMU-1062 q.

The previous record was borken, so I had to install a new hard drive.

The new hard drive is fommatted as NTFS format, and it is currently mounted on 8108.

Unfortunately, I don't have recovery disk available to the general public so I am trying to install Windows 7 on a blank hard drive.

When you start, the LED OK PWK light is all the time, orange DRIVE LED turns on for a few seconds only when I turn on the switch.

LabVIEW RT switches are all off, I cleared CMOS several times to the Board of Directors, but the screen does not show anything.

I tried to use my DVI monitor with any other device as well, and it worked, so there is no problem with the monitor.

In addition, I tried to go in window safe mode by pressing F8 or Del it didn't work, so I can't see anything on the screen when his kick upward.

I tried to put a lot of information I can it will be very appreciated if you can help me with this problem please.

You said that you can't in Windows safe mode, you have installed Windows on the hard drive?  Are you able to get into the BIOS of the controller?

If you are not able to access the BIOS for the controller, it may be due to bad RAM.  If you are uncomfortable installing RAM and you have a few extra laptop RAM of the same type (I think it's the DDR3 for your controller) laying around, you can try to replace the RAM.

Was your hard drive damaged through certain events, or it just stop working?

  • Updated Dell C640 laptop hard drive

    Hello

I have a laptop Dell C640 with a 30 GB hard drive in it I want to improve.

I'm looking to install a hard disk of 160 Go in there and have a few questions.

I have located the hard drive and knows how to get it out but I was wondering if I could just copy my drive C everything on my external hard drive, remove the old hard drive, install a new one. Then boot up my laptop to my external hard drive and when loading upward just copy and paste the contents of the C drive on the new drive and all works normally when I disconnect the external hard drive?

    Your help is greatly appreciatted.

Simply copy the files will not work. You need either to CLONE the drive or make a disk IMAGE and then later RESTORE that image.

Fortunately, your new hard drive will almost certainly come with cloning software. Just follow these instructions. After the back if you need assistance.
  • Can't reinstall XP service pack 3 on the new hard drive, will not cross of EULA

Computer VOstro 220 (Dell) under the age of 18 months. Internal HD died and was replaced two weeks ago with a HD internal 320, the speed of 7200 Western Digital. (Micro Center, a computer store large installed the HD that I bought at the store)

I used the OEM "reinstall Windows XP service Pack 3" DVD.  With F12 I put the computer to boot from the DVD.

DVD boots, I chose the option to install the OS

Fisrt I see the message that the program checks the material. No error message

Then I see the screen with the words "Windows Setup". Five minutes later, Microsoft EULA (end-user contract) is displayed.  IT does not scroll, I used the arrow keys on the keyboard to get at the end of the EULA was waiting for some kind of "type option"I agree". But there is nothing.

Nothing more happens. No additional configuration.

What is the problem? What should I do to get the Windows XP installation to continue?

Why not install the operating system?

  • where are my drivers? new installation on the new hard drive

I have a dimension e510, I put in a new hard drive. I got the windows xp disk, I added when I bought the computer. In general, the hard drive is partitioned or something with the operating system on the hard disk of windows xp.

In any case after I installed widows xp, everything works except that I have the yellow question mark by 'other devices', I noticed that when I tried this computer with my main computer of the network. All of the devices under the heading other have no driver video Ethernet, PCi, for example - video works as I have a video card.

So I tried to install the drivers and windows is unable to find them. I still have the installation disc into the computer. Being one of the drivers for the Ethernet - i cannot access the internet to get drivers. Help

OK, I found the drivers on the dell site. I was able to install or update several drivers that I didn't need. the pilot opne I need comes in a cab file inpenuxp.cab.  Where do I put this? I've tried several things that work. When I low laoded the other driver of dell updtates, they all seemed different and they are all installed without problem

    Hello

You will need to download "Intel PRO/100 VE Network Connection " of Dell on a USB key and install the driver for your Netbook have access to the internet.

A CAB file is a ZIP , CAB file is just the Microsoft format for a compressed folder save bandwidth on their server they save as aCAB , you can open and then select all and extract here where the files need. For the most part, these files will file dell cascading, images and Html pages.

Try to download the network card in your computer to get the correct driver installed for your problem.

  • New hard drive, installed Windows XP PRO version 2002 - resolution screen and internet problems

My Dell has had some problems (patially due to age), so a buddy of mine and I put a new hard drive in it and then installed windows XP Pro.  Installation went great, but now that it's installed, I can not get the screen resoultion to change and I can't connect to the internet.  I feel like with the internet, can I have a driver problem.  I know that the internet works, I'm on it with the laptop right now.  Any suggestions?

????  I'm not sure I understand your question. You download the drivers to a place, you will find them, as the office. If you want to put them on a USB stick, copy the files downloaded to the key and take it to the computer target. Copy the files on the computer desktop. Double-click on a file and it will unpack the installation routine starts. Follow the installation wizard. Reset when said to repeat as needed until all the drivers, etc are installed. Subsequently, you can delete the downloaded files from Dell (from installation .exe). MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • try to reinstall windows xp on a new hard drive

My dell desktop internal hard drive crashed completely, so I can't start over. I am running windows XP (and I have the product key) that has been installed by dell, when I bought it. I have all the original disks. I intend to buy a new internal hard drive and re - install windows XP. How can I do that when I have everything I have is a product key? I made a backup of the hard drive on an external hard drive, but I don't think that I can boot from the external drive. I have no backup discs.

The best solution is to contact Dell and get a recovery disk. Otherwise will need you:

    1. buy a full copy of XP and install using the product key that follows; or

2 remove your computer to a competent local professional, who will have the right Dell XP disc to reinstall Windows. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!
