  I am currently working on adding a domain controller Windows Server 2012 and field existing Windows 2003.  My current domain controller (Server 2003) had a level of functiontional of Windows 2000 server, when I first tried to add the server DC 2012.  I changed the functional level of the domain on the Server 2003 Windows 2003 (it is the only domain controller in the tree).  When I try to add the Server Server 2012, he reports that this domain is a Windows 2000 domain.  I checked and restarted the 2003 server.  Does anyone know why the 2012 still sees the field as 2000 functional level?

It works in command line, but not the part of absolute path 'Execute the application' the management of alerts. I tried all the suggestions in the thread. Anyone know if this works for the win2012 or how to make it work?

  Ah, in fact it seems that it may work now. Have to do with how I was testing the temporary disability or maybe I have changed some things between tests. I tried a few times over, and it seems to have triggered the email which will now be sent

  IM have a dell Poweregde T620 server and see a windows server 2012 in the deplyoment of bone under Lifecycle control. IM did a full reset and update all the firemware to the latest version (Lifecylce, firmware, Bios, DriverOsPack, diagnostic uefi H310, dell remote access) and now im do not see the windows server 2012 in the Menu. IM see the new redht 6.3 (previously are 6.2).

  It seems that 2012 server has been intentionally removed the OS driver pack in the latest revision. This is a quote from the download page:

  Important information (download page)

  If WS 2012 operating system is necessary, please use System Build and Update Utility for installation.

  I suggest to use the SBUU as recommended, or you can try to install the older driver pack.

  I have a Mac Pro early 2008 Intel Xeon, 16 GB under Snow Leopard and VMWare Fusion 5 installed, as well as a few virtual machines running perfectly. I decided to create a virtual computer that is running Windows Server 2012. The installation went well. However, when I tried to activate the Hyper-V technology I got in trouble.

  In the Virtual Machine settings > system settings > general: I chose "Hyper-V (not supported).

  In the processor and memory, I selected 4 cores, 4 GB and in advanced: enable applications to hypervisor...

  In other/advanced: the virtualization engine preferred: Intel VT - x with EFA

  and all the possible permutations of these selections. Nothing has worked.

  Error messages:

  Hyper-V cannot be installed. The processor has no virtualization required capabilities.

  Virtualized Intel VT-x/EPT is not supported on this platform.

  Preferred mode is unavailable. Using VT - x instead. This host does not support EFA.

  All this leads me to believe that my hardware configuration does not support the operation of computers virtual hyper-v in Fusion. According to your philosophy, we can consider this to be a reality: everything is always possible. However, what drives me nuts are guys on internet blogs, everybody saying he's working on their system! I would like to hear an authoritative voice if possible, or not.

  Hi Eric and welcome on VMware communities!

  It is purely a matter of features of the CPU.  None of the processors that apple delivered in Early 2008 Mac Pro systems supports Extended Page Tables (EPT).  According to the list of the Mac Pro systems, the processor that you have will be E5462, E5472 or X 5482, as well as relevant on the (related) Intel Web site pages show no support for EFA everymac.com.

  Without EFA, we cannot virtualize VT - x.  In other words, the guest operating system cannot see and use virtualization assisted by material, although the merger itself will be able to make use of the hardware support of the functions of virtualization host to run the virtual machine: we can use VT - x, but cannot virtualize to make it available to a nested prompt.

  Hyper-V is entirely dependent on the hardware support for virtualization (VT - x for example), then it won't work as a guest nested in your configuration.

  Built a new PC and dropped in Enterprise 8.1... added Hyper v and downloaded the copy 'try' MS Server R2 2012.

  I pulled the low R2 for Windows Server 2012 on the Technet Evaluation site and got the package: 130928-2229_server_serverdatacentreeval_en-us. VIRTUAL HARD DRIVE

  probably manually install a copy of the R2 2012 legit keys into a new virtual machine on PC, but y at - it another way

• PowerEdge 2850 Windows Server 2012 do not start

  Well, I have a PE 2850 that was loaded to the top with Windows Server 2012 at the beginning of the year last as part of our upgrade to Windows 7. Even though I know that Windows Server 2008 is the latest version of Microsoft to officially support the SCSI interfaces as RAID PERC 4E/DI included in the 2850 card, I was able to work around in first install 64-bit Server 2008 with the SCSI drivers and then doing an upgrade online to the 2012 server.

  Everything went fine for the last year and half, but when I got to work yesterday, the server had crashed and he was sitting on the screen of the BIOS with the following error message:

  Memory/battery problems were detected. The adapter has recovered, but cached data have been lost. Press a key to continue.

  I pressed on enter and the server started to move to a preparation repair screen Windows where the progress bar is not long about 80% of the way and then froze for more than an hour. Subsequent attempts to restart in safe mode led to the server of freezing for several minutes before restarting once more to this same error message at the Windows logo screen. I can pull up to the management of the RAID and see my partitions still there, and I even loaded my readers in an old PE 2600 to check consistency on the logical drives (no problem found). However, the old 2600 is 32-bit architecture and it won't try to boot into the operating system.

  At this point, I'm really just trying to get a full backup of my system. I don't mind getting a new server, but I don't want to keep throwing money at this old piece of 12 year of equipment without knowing if it works or not. The problem is that 2012 uses ReFS, and none of the recovery programs I found can access my logical volumes. Boot from the OS Installation disk in the recovery console doesn't work, because the OS disk does not include SCSI drivers native to be able to see the score of the OS or the data partition.

  I think I'll call a few services data recovery tomorrow, but I would check here for ideas first. Any input is greatly appreciated.

  Microsoft has removed native SCSI support with 2008 R2, but R2 2008 provided Dell drivers for the PERC. These drivers work for the installation of Server 2012 as well.

  I've been looking for a SBS 2011 Standard on the migration Server 2012 Standard document and not having not much of chance.

  Is anyone aware of any restriction/warnings to know.

  I guess the SBS server will check hourly so are has the FSMO roles - and is not - stop moving roles FSMO would be the last step. However, added a current standard server 2012 in the field as a secondary school for AD/DNS etc - is that this will cause problems - such as the closure of 28 days rule?

  The main reason we want to have the new 2012 standard servers in the field is to start migration from other servers such as web services, etc. off before moving to the Exchange and the sides AD things.
