Dell XPS 15 SSD NVMe slow after updating the firmware July 2016 and papillonné CPU (Core i7)

Edit: 9/2: title change intended to reflect issues of CPU throttling and discussion (second half of the thread)

I noticed a huge performance drag after updating the firmware and drivers of my XPS 15 9550. The update took place August 4, 2016.

Performance of my usual applications (Chrome, development tools and IDE, etc.) is dramatically lower. In general, I would say that things take about 3 times as long to arrive. I checked the CPU (normal), but also memory consumption (as normal) to discover that the problem is with the SSD drive.

On this laptop: 500 GB NVMe thnsn5512gpu7 NV (toshiba). Attached are the results of a benchmark with AS SSD. All write speeds are appalling, to say the least... that explains a lot, but I have no idea how to solve this problem, and whether or not it really relates to the latest firmware + update drivers provided by Dell.

(Note: I checked the BIOS, it seems that the SSD is currently configured in RAID mode.) Never touched this option before.)

Any idea? Other affected users in a similar way. Thanks in advance.

I managed to get the performance back by going to the properties of the disc and turn off windows write cache flushing heat. The two boxes should be checked. Write speed then went to about 1400 MB/s.

  • Re: Satellite A200 LEFP6 is slow after updating the BIOS

    Hello

I have a problem with my Toshiba.

2 days ago, I installed a new driver BIOS on the computer. Since then, a laptop computer is running much more slow then normal. I don't know what to do?
I want to get the previous Bios driver but I don't know how to do it and I don't wont to do the biggest problem that I have now.

I chose good driver for my 'machine', Vista 32-bit (http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tools/eula/info_eng2.asp).
    Can you help me???

I also have one more problem. My cd/dvd drive does not read the cd drive.
Is it possible that the problem is Vista? Because a few months ago, I had a similar problem with cd/dvd player. This day someone we the internet forum advice change me something in (I'm not sure) a registry file.

It is a good solution because the disappearance of the problem and everything was working properly until this month.

    Thanks for any help,
So I hope you understand my English :)
    Nice day

    Hello

Currently, the European driver Toshiba page provides a Vista 32 bit version of BIOS 2.50.
Don't forget that your BIOS has been updated to 2.50. You can check in the BIOS settings.

In addition, I also recommend setting the default BIOS.
This can be done in the BIOS itself.

But generally it s not easy t say why your laptop is slower. To be honest I don t understand what you mean by running a lot more slow then normal
The laptop starts more slowly? Or what's a problem exactly?

    So now a few tips about you, CD/DVD drives issue;
Yes, sometimes the windows sets some filter values in the registry and this may affect the functionality of CD/DVD drive.

    Check this thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=37430&TSTART=0

There you can find the solution.
And here is the link to the useful program that removes these registry values

  • Solution for nasal sound choppy after updating the firmware of the player combo cdrw/dvd TS-L462C

Hello you all frustrated users Dell! : manhappy:

Before I post my solution, here's what happened to me...

Towards the end of November ' 07, I decided to update all my drivers for my Inspiron B130 running Windows XP sp2, including the firmware for the TS-L462C 24 x CD-RW/dvd combo drive.

In the next few days to update, I noticed that my audio started his jerky / stutter any kind of program that I used to listen to, unless you use the CD player.

I came to Dell and started browsing these forums for a solution, given that my warranty was expired, and only Dell was to restore the original configuration, that was not a very practical solution with all the unwanted 'important' that I have accumulated in two years.

I've tried everything by many users with the same annoying problem recommended here (update of Bios, drivers roll back, etc.).

The only thing that worked was to keep a CD in the drive at all times, which as we know, is not a permanent solution, but is favorite Microsoft term... workaround.

What I finally discovered that was the update of the firmware Dell 'bad' DE07... why they don't check these things?

The solution I finally found, after months of this and other forums, research is to restore firmware DE07 DE05.

That at first, does not seem that easy because the DE05 flashes the firmware from a boot disk and my B130 came with a floppy drive.

So here's how I did it...

    1. If you haven't already, you will need the DE07 utility that comes with the upgrade.

Get it here... TS-L462C DE07 firmware

Follow the instructions to download and unzip, but do not install... we just need the windows Flash utility.

    2. download and unzip the DE05 firmware.

Get it here... TS-L462C DE05 firmware

Note the location of this folder, because we need the .bin for sync this folder file.

    Mine unzipped here... C:\dell\drivers\R114334

    3. now open (double click) on the update of the firmware DE07 called SFDNWIN.exe

and follow the instructions to update...

    a. click on the download file ' open' button to the left.

    b. do not click on the DE07_060525.bin, but instead, navigate to the folder that has the DE05.bin, who, in mine, is located at C:\dell\drivers\R114334, to select. Click on 'open '.

    c. click on the "Start download" button in the middle.

    d. click "Restart Windows".

    e. system will restart after the flash is complete.

I hope this has been helpful and not too complicated, but it worked wonderfully for me!

    : manvery-happy:

    Good luck

    Ed

You reset the day to factory settings?
If this is not the case, do.
You must turn off the trip and put the "Reset" to the left then to the right again.

7780 OfficeJet appears 'offline' on every Windows PC (OS: Windows 7/32-Bit or Windows 8/64-Bit) in my 802.11 wireless home network, even though the printer is fully functional when connected via USB to a machine. IP address of the printer can be crazy, WES is available, PASS, network configuration page shows CONNECTED, firmware just improved to f2011 network test report.

HPPSdr shows the installed printer with the correct IP address, and when you print a test page printing Test HPPDU appears in the print queue for the printer (offline).

Router is configured with WPA-2 / AES, authentication of the printer is configured as automatic (1 - WPA or WPA-2) and automatic encryption (AES or TKIP).

THX - this isn't the channel. It is a SNMP flag set (on all machines). Disabling status SNPM magically let the printer reappear.

  • Meeting place for DELL Pro 8 - option missing sleep after updated

I own a DELL Pro 8 meeting place. After updating drivers, the tablet will not sleep and pressing the power button is no longer in the Tablet 'SLEEP' mode.  SLEEP option is completely missing the Tablet remains on constantly even when not used.

The updates that I applied are

    Pilot series Intel Atom Z3000

    Running reliable engine Driver Intel

5570 WWAN and GNSS (GPS) Driver Wireless Dell Mobile Broadband

    I've found a workaround.

I found that disable driver Wirless 5570 Mobile broadband device Windows re-activates the SLEEP feature Manager.  This would indicate that the problem is with the driver 5570 Wireless.  I tried to downgrade to a previous version of this driver, but Mobile broadband will completely stop working.

I suppose that others have the same problem, if you have not applied the latest updates and a meeting place for Dell Pro 8 with a card 3G it would be a good idea to not update drivers at this time.

In the end, I updated the Windows operating system files and installed A03.  Could not get A04 or A05 works not at all.

It is clear that these updates have not been tested on the site of Dell Pro 8.  I highly recommend to avoid updating the driver for the card 3G until an adjustment for the driver of the object is released.

The reality is that Dell has released a product with a digital pen that does not work properly and use a 3G card that does not work properly.  In general I would avoid Dell Windows tablets in the future, if you do not have to use Windows 8.1 I would recommend that you buy an Apple iPad.

The iPad is a fantastic table.

After applying the firmware update v7.6.7 free WiFi to TimeCapsule is now 2.4 Ghz instead of 5 Ghz.

It was the update of the firmware with certainty that has made this... no doubt about it:

    • My mouse bluetooth interference notice when my MacBook is connected to WiFi 2.4 Ghz;
    • Before the update, everything is OK
    • After updating, my mouse mouse start jittering
    • < alt-click > WiFi icon in the menu bar confirms: the connection is now 2.4 Ghz

Restart to e TM Mo doesn't change anything.

Tried the hard reset of TC and reconfigure the WiFi... the same result, but with a difference:

    • Setting an SSID separated for 5 GHz connection (in the WiFi options) has now created a network I can access.
    • However, this is not the best solution... I don't want 2 SSID.

  • Problems after updating the BIOS on Satellite Pro P200

I recently buy a Satellite Pro P200 running Windows Vista Business. Yesterday, I updated the BIOS to the version 1.50 supplied with the machine to 1.80 available on the Toshiba site. I double checked that I was using BIOS correct update for the Pro P200 Satellitel running Vista.

After updating the BIOS, I have now two problems:

    1. whenever I start and join the office, I get an error message "record of Vista has stopped working". This problem has been identified as toshibavistaregistration.exe here: [link: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=99805]

2 Control Panel > system now shows the processor and the memory (RAM) as "not available". Execution of the diagnostic PC Toshoba tool and looking at basic information show also no information on the memory (RAM) Although the processor information here. There may be pieces others missing too under the eyes of list shorter than before the update of the BIOS.

Basically, I want to get everything working again as it should, but cannot find any information on these issues.

After further review, it appears that the update of the BIOS is not the cause of the problems.

Immediately after updating the BIOS, I had a major system crash. It turns out that this is what has caused problems.

After a system restore to a point before the update of the BIOS and the major system crash, now everything is working again with BIOS version 1.8 in place.

  • After 32RL933 the firmware update won't start no - green LED lights

After an update of the firmware via wifi and use the TV for a few hours, when I changed the Source, the TV goes black and reboot, right now the TV is always black, green LED flashing and the screen turns black.

I think it's a firmware issue, I tried to pull the plug and put back in operation and does not. I have donwloaded a rl933_748304.bin firmware on the site, loaded onto usb and plugged into the TV and does not work, so I think I need a "auto-install" firmware that runs at the start of the TV instead a normal firmware.

I've read that a lot of people have this problem, I hope that you could give me support.

Thanks in advance and sorry for my English.

    Try this:
Turning the TV off. Wait 30 seconds, then press power button.
Then OFF it again. Unplug the power cable and LAN cable.
Reconnect the cable LAN and power ON the TV.
    Now reset the TV.
GO to the system configuration menu, select TV point Reset and press OK to select.

The downgrade of the BIOS is not possible because you n t have the first version of BIOS and even if you get the 1.0 version of BIOS, the BIOS update procedure is not possible because the newer version is already flashed.

But I recommend you set the method in Windows to optimize power or better management the cooling battery life
