• Create a demo / simulation within a project of presentation

  I'm just starting to use 8 Captivate. In previous versions, I was able to insert a demo / simulation while I was building a presentation by simply click on a little red button which is not in version 8. I tried to do it in the menu file, but making it in another project, not where I need it in my presentation. It is no longer possible?

  Only way now is to use the big button slides, software Simulation. Sorry for the change of the user interface, should be easier, but is not always the case. It is missing from the Insert menu.

• Insert Captivate video demos, training simulation, simulation of assessment in a CP project

  I would like to ask if it is possible and if so, how insert a Captivate demo/training or simulation of assessment on a blade of Captivate - (it would be better that I can still update the demo/simulation of Captivate parent project). The size of the demo/simulation is smaller than the size of the original Captivate project.  This will give you things from room like the menu buttons, header, footer.

  It was written for an older version, but the workflow is still valid. You can use the same knock-out slide for simulation files, then copy them to the main project after finishing with the resizing.

  I plead for a while to have a way to add such a knockout model of slides, to make it easier with the Adobe team. It would be great if you have entered a feature request.

• IOS - XR XRv

  Hello

  Looks for 4.3.2 release notes indicate a coming download for XRv (XR4U?).  4.3.2 is available for download now for ASR9000 and CRS.  Anyone know when we might see a download for XRv?

  I'm happy to see the interest XRv arguably asd the generation XR4U. First version of the XRv is 4.3.2 that you saw, but it is a limited release. Here is some general information, but please contact your Cisco account team for more information.

  XRv IOS is a Virtual Machine running the IOS - XR operating system.  The virtual machine combines the feature road-processor and card online in a single image, offering full control and capacity plan management plan as stated in the IOS XR operating system.   Version 4.3.2 will offer only vRR version with limited availability, no offers of demo and Simulator.

  With XRv, we anticipate three types of images: demo, simulation and production. The differences in the pictures have to do with frequency limits given plane and licenses.

  There are 3 main use for IOS XRv case:

  1. Education and familiarization of the XR (Demo version will NOT be available in version 4.3.2)
  2. Test - Network Modeling and configuration stage (Simulator version will NOT be available in version 4.3.2)
  3. vRR: production of virtual router use cases, starting with RRV (road reflector is the only version to version 4.3.2)

• CPT 9: Zoom Destination appears suddenly

  Hi all

  I use Captivate 9 version 9.0.1.320 on Windows 7.

  My question is maybe really stupid and sorry for that.

  I added a zoom area on a slide of my demo Simulation.

  I want the Zoom Destination to appear and gradually zoom in. For the moment, the Zoom Destination appears rather abruptly even thought, I played with the timings of the Source of Zoom and Zoom Destination.

  On top that the effects seem to be grayed out when trying to solve this problem by adding the effect floating about to Destination of Zoom .

  What I am doing wrong?

  Could upgrade you to version 9.0.2? I checked on your version, but there is a new patch released.

  Normally the zoom area object does not appear suddenly but takes time, that you can adjust in the synchronization properties.  Default installation appears at 0 seconds and zoom time = 1.5 seconds. Maybe you could post a screenshot of the chronology, is perhaps another point stopping somewhere? How did you test? Try to preview in the browser or HTML in the browser (F12 of F11) If you are on a normal life, not a sensitive project.

  Given that it is a simulation of demo, just a question: have you tried the video demo (cpvc) instead of the simulation of the demo? He has a much better way of zoom and pan with better quality than the subject of (old) Zoom in cptx projects.

  You can create a custom zoom effect, using the scale effects and motion together on an image of the area will be enlarged.

• Show and hide multiple items using wildcards in advanced Actions?

  Is there a way to show or hide multiple items at once by using a wildcard character in advanced Actions?  Ex: Hide all the boxes to click in the presentation that begin with click_ *.

  I'm trying to find a good way to use the same CBT to show me Mode (demo video with audio and no interaction) and the practice Mode (interactive simulation with boxes to click and prompt text box for interactions).

  I saw a few business solutions have the ability to have 1 source file that publishes on multiple formats (demo, simulation, quick guide).  However, they are a little more than 800 $de Captivate.

  PS as for your original question: no wildcard in advanced actions. You can filter drop-down lists on "click_" and only objects will appear then (in CP6/7) but you will still need a single statement by click box unless you group boxes click on a slide (impossible to group objects sitting on different slides).

• Legend of failure shows only not in reading

  The legend of default does not appear for me, when I record a demo/simulation manually. I selected the failure Caption checkbox for the click on options in the box and the caption text is entered, but when you click outside the click box nothing will appear when output. It shows if I use the car to the registration option but I don't like the way it displays images in the order that I record against so I end up needing to take manual capture that presents the problem of feedback again.

• Convert a video demo in an interactive software simulation

  I recently created a video demo of long hours of a function of demand, which I cut up into convenient bitesized pieces. It took me forever...

  It was created with love and sure for what is said in the brief, I was given - but my memory has been mysteriously changed, and an interactive software simulation has therefore been requested. GRrrrrrrrrrr!

  I have a white fully draw on it, but is possible to convert a video demo in an interactive software simulation? It may be obvious, I can be stupid, or maybe there's not a way to do it at all, but any advice on this would be greatly received!

  No, Brendan, I'm sorry. An interactive software simulation will be a cptx project, while the video demonstration is a project of cpvc. You can use the storyboard, assets may be static if you added to the demo video, or using a part of the VO if you had them.

  A software simulation in Captivate is based on leaves, not video. You may want to use small pieces of the video when necessary. An example: to replace the blades FMR which are inserted automatically when you use scrolling or dragging in the simulation. Due to their poor quality, I mostly replace it with CPVC-slides, that you can create from our project cpvc and insert into the project main cptx.

• How to increase the red box Captivate for simulation software and the video demo?

  Can someone let me know if there is a way to increase the size of the red zone. As you can see on the screenshot, even if I chose "align the window' the red zone is not able to cover the whole screen I want to capture. I checked the Adobe help site https://helpx.adobe.com/captivate/using/record-software-simulations.html and looks like I could pick screen or application and there area, customize the size, but I do not see these options in my Captivate. I would be really grateful to everyone who looks at this problem! Thank you!  

  

  Yes, you will need to save this as a separate file, nationally (with loss of quality, always!) this project at the same resolution as the current project. After that, you will be able to copy and paste slides recorded to the existing project. The pages that you were talking about were on a new software simulation project.

• NOR CAN demo box

  I'm looking for more information and other resources to learn how to use the materials CAN. On the line, I found an example: example of Simple LabVIEW NI USB_CAN with NI CAN demo box. After looking around, I found more information about the use of this thing. The only thing I can't find is where to download or how mutch, it could cost!  I also found a simulator of NI CAN device for about $1000. This could be a bit too difficult to use for experiment to the home welder.

  According to our current expertise with NI-CAN, a starting point is http://www.ni.com/white-paper/12427/en, also, here is a table of NI-CAN compatibility http://www.ni.com/white-paper/5859/enmaterials. As much as how to use this specific example CAN demo box is CAN Simulator device using this example assumes that you already have a simulator.

  If you want to familiarize yourself with NI-CAN with the material, OR the best place to go is http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/websearch/75A23BEFC0DECEB98625700B00083154and don't forget you must have 2 devices or an ADC card with 2 ports, so you can have a sender and a receiver.

  About the bbsupport lib, if you run the last validation of QT, codedrop_20111130, the bbsupport lib is no longer necessary.

  I build based on this branch and run things on the Simulator, without lib bbsuport and all woked fine.

  So, you can remove the reference to it.

• Cannot run the MDS Simulator

  I'm testing the demo of HTTP... everything is workin fine but it return an error after tried to connect for awhile (workin...) "java.io.InterruptedIOException: connection Local expired after 120000.

  The problem seems to be that the Services of MDS Simulator is not launched... but when I try to run it manually, the window opens and close immediately after. I've tried many 'solutions' on this forum, but nothing seems to work.

  Necessary to reinstall the plugin eclipse even though I use JDE... then restarted, adjust the path environment variable, started again and needed to start the mds alone before opening the JDE.

  Now, it works fine.

• Strange sound behavior... question of Simulator?

  I have an app where I replied the cowbell with their C + c++ demo / .pro files (except my context property is "app") and ImageButtons to call sounds so much like the demo of Bell, I have:

  It will play a sound, but sometimes my file "bark1.wav" sounds deaf/one time sometimes and other times sounds as it should.  Another similar button, I use the "meow.wav" and no sound at all out.  As a last test, I used the "moo.wav" of the demo, and which works better (less muffled survey / playing each time).  So is this my .wav files? (They all work fine on Windows Media Player)  What is the Simulator?  Thoughts?

• Confusion of notifications demo

  I'm new to programming BB while I was looking at the demo of app notifications and I cannot understand how to use it.  What Miss me?

  I create and launch the Simulator, and then run the app in the Simulator and get the screen of text expected that notification of trigger says on the menu.

  When I bring up the menu and click on warn (ID1), what should happen?  Nothing is happening and I'm not sure what to do or expect.

  What I'm trying to do ultimately is to determine how to detect when certain things happen as a call or e-mail or a BBM message and then make my own alert custom as a model specific LED etc.  So I thought that this application example would be useful.  I'm on the right track to achieve this goal, or if not where should I be needing help?

• "JVM 517 error corrupted file system". (On Storm 9530 Simulator)-Please HELP
