Deploy a new 5508 as a secondary WLC in network

Hi friends,

I am really poor deployed WLC.

I need to deploy a new WLC 5508 networked as a secondary controller. The primary WLC (5508) has been configured as a single from now and good work WLC... Now, I need deploy the new 5508 as secondary controller.

I could connect to the console and make the basic configs. (Service and management int IP interface addresses etc)

Now, I have to perform two tasks:

(1) I should synchronize the configuration of the primary 5508 for 5508 high school which I just added. Please guide me how do?

(2) I need to set up the HA (failover) using the RP or giving the Pri/Sec/Ter static by AP.

Please help me ASAP as I am not very used to WLC deployments.

Thank you

Francis

Hello

  1. It is a model of HA - SKU (secondary) license?
  2. Or do you have at least 50 AP secondary license to WLC?

If you have any of the above then go through this guide:

  • Adding a secondary WLC with different software version

    Hi all

Soon I will deploy a secondary WLC (primary, active) with the version of the 7.4.121.0 software

The environment have a standalone WLC (secondary, hot standby) with the version of the 7.0.240.0 software

I have read the deployment guide "Configuring High Availability" and have this quote: ' we recommend that you do not combine two controllers on controller different versions of software.» If they are matched, then the controller with address of management of lower redundancy becomes the active controller and the other controller goes into maintenance mode. »

I know that the upgrade to secondary WLC can be provide by WLC primary only.

So, how can I do this?

1 - downgrade the WLC secondary to the 7.0.240.0 and the controllers of the pair of two or

2 - controllers to couple the two and to match the two controllers (perhaps with questions)?

And it s necessary in both controllers have the same version of software images (boot primary and secondary boot)?

    Thanks for any response.

It is necessary to have the same version of code... because if ap moves one wlc to another, they will have to be upgraded and or downgrade, which can take 5 minutes or more.  This will affect your end users.  The WLC should also be the same model... well its recommended.  But if your current wlc does support the latest code, then your new wlc will have to be downgraded.

Here is a table of compatibility to keep handy:

  • The behavior of business rule when you deploy a new version

    Hi Experts,

My client is using bpm11g, they asked when you deploy a new version of bpmn process with build-in the business rule, what will happen to the existing and update of the composer?

The old rule will be updated with the new version or will be preserved as it was? If the latter is true, when the new version will be effective?

    Best regards

    Hello

What has to happen, is it time that you changed a BR in the composer, that a redeployment of the composite does not replace the amended administrative rules.

You can / should export your composite of EM then you JDeveloper project reflecting changes in the BR in composer: using Oracle SOA composer with Oracle Business Rules - 11 g Release 1 (11.1.1.6.1).

  • Deploy a new virtual machine from a template

Is there a workflow avaiable to deploy a new virtual machine from a template?  I tried using the Clone Virtual Machine, no workflow customization but receive an error saying, "task"CloneVM_Task"error: a specified parameter was not correct."
"Spec.Location.pool (name of the dynamic Script Module: vim3WaitTaskEnd #20).

When I use a template as a source of VM.

I can't find any documents pointing to the deployment of the model.

    Hello

It's the right workflow, but you must provide a pool of valuable resources for this workflow. If you do not resource pools, it can be shown in a vCO to root in the inventory (vCenter does not work).

  • [wlc] secondary wlc in a 1:1, Ip dhcp pool redundancy

    Hello

I will put up a high availability of 1:1 with 2 wlc 2504.

I need to enter the ip address primary and backup controller and name to each AP.
Unfortunately, we have a lot of AP and AP will more soon; it manually will take some time.

I wonder if there is a way to give the secondary ip address to the ip dhcp pool? or any other stand-alone solution.

    Thank you very much

To quote one of the answers:
The global primary and secondary come into play if there is no primary or secondary configured specifically in the AP. personally I've never used it however if you had only two controllers that would be ideal. I just see by specifying more granular level AP. personally I always use the HA tab for the ap as you never know how the deployment will evolve. You may fail aps to only one controller several controllers. You may need the HA failover priority. It is always useful to understand what will happen when your controllers fail and can become interesting if you have several controllers with several groups of AP and RF to profiles that you really need start controlling what ap's going where.

As you can see, most of the Admins do not configure the Global setting.
Just be patient in their configuration by AP XD

  • New authentication active directory on wlc 2504

    Hello

There is problem with very often a new authentication for servers active directory. Every time only if:

-loose client wlan/wifi because of the wifi hole or low RSSI

-output of build for a while customer

-wlan loose customer due to problem with homelessness (slow, not perfect)

There is possibility to keep authenticated users? I had hope that options: sleep customer, max session timeout, max idle timeout

help, but they do not work for me :(

My access point (2702) are all in a group flexconnect. WLC 2504 (8.1.102.0). My security in WLAN config is:

    Layer2: wpa + wpa2, PSK

Layer 3: web policy, authentication with LDAP servers + asleep on client

I always try to improve the radio covers n fast roaming (11 k, r, v) but if someone leaves the area wifi, to do authenticated which is a little annoying...

Thanks for any advice or an index

    Peter

You want people who re - attach to your network for to re-authenticate.  It's a good thing.  We do not want people using the old credentials, or expose you to a security breach.

This behavior is by design - and good.

  • With the help of new access points with old WLC 4100; LWAPP layer 2 switching 3-tier

    Hi all

We currently use two solutions Wiresless LAN - a 10 AP1230 access points-based autonomous (5 years) and a solution based on a Cisco WLC 4100 (4112, running 3.2) with 12 AP1010 LWAPP access points.

First thing, we are considering to replace the stand-alone solution with the WLC one. However, I'm not sure if we can use the new access points such as the LAP1041N or the LAP1252G with our current 4100 WLC. Access reported data sheets 'Cisco Unified Wireless Network Software Release 7.0 or later version' 'software '. Does this mean that these access points can only be used with controllers running 7.0 or later?

If we are unable to use the new access points with our current WLC and need to buy a new controller: can we use access points AP1010 current with a new WLC as the Cisco 4402?

Second thing, it is that we want to expand the networks configured on the WLC 4100 to another site that is connected via VPN wireless. Wireless Setup guide indicates that the LWAPP mode can be changed from Layer 2 to 3 layers so that the access points can be configured with an IP address, which allows you to place access points basically anywhere as long as IP connectivity exists between the AP and the WLC.

Y does it as described in a document with the change of mode LWAPP layer 2 to 3 layers? Or ist just the following steps (if I understand correctly):

-Change the Mode of Transport LWAPP on the controller of layer 2 to 3 layers

-Creation of a PA-manager interface with an IP address in the same subnet as the management interface (tried that, without changing LWAPP mode transport first and not was not possible - error)

    With regard to different sites:

-Configure option DHCP 43 with the IP address of the WLC or DNS with CISCO-LWAPP - CONTROLLER.localdomain

-Make sure that the interface ap - manager can reach points on the different site

Is it really just as simple as that? All information about it is very appreciated!

/ edit: I would also like to know if the 1260 series access point are backward compatible with 802. 11B. Whereas it is stated in 1040 and 1250 for example series data sheets, it is not particularly mentioned in 1260 data sheet.

    Thank you

    Michael

Well, let's start with the simple question/answer

    With regard to different sites:

-Configure option DHCP 43 with the IP address of the WLC or DNS with CISCO-LWAPP - CONTROLLER.localdomain

-Make sure that the interface ap - manager can reach points on the different site

Yes, it's as simple as that.

As for other issues, looks like you would be better served with a forklift upgrade.  New controllers and new AP.

Now, the AP 1230/1240/1250. all work on the 4.2, 1140 code starts with 5.2 and 1040/3500/1260 are 7.0

The AP 1000 series is not supported after 4.2 code.

Refer to here for the complete list of the AP and taken codes supported:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/wireless/controller/release/notes/crn7.0.html#wp610751

From what I see, the 4100 is not supported after the train of 3.2.

So, it really depends on what you are trying to accomplish with the upgrade.  If you are looking for a 80.211n support, you really want to be 5.2 or better, we had some problems with MRR + 40 Mhz channels, 4.2, 5 GHz band only.

  • Deployment of ISE in the wireless infra WLC (single 1240AG Access Point)

    Hi all

I am having access point 1240AG and plans to deploy ISE as external radius server. I would like to know how must set up in AP/ISE deifferent authorization policy. If I can use named ACL or VLAN (CoA) as an application types without use of WLC. If so, how?

    Thanks in advance.

No it's not possible, because the ios code that access points operate in stand-alone mode do not support change authorization (CoA). They will authenticate the user, and when a coa event is fired to ISE, that's when this deployment is broken and gets it lost.

    Thank you

  • Deployment of new instance B2B adapter

    Hello

I developed the composite and B2B via adapter B2B connection to import 810Def.
I am currently in the Dev Environment and I see B2B adapter configuration created a .wsdl file and there is no .jca file.
In the .wsdl file, we b2bconfiguration values as below.

    < b2bconfig:parameters
    UIDocRef = "" EDI_X12 - 4010 - 820 - 820Def ""
    UISOAServer = "WLS_SOA1".
    UIConnectionName = "Devm01" / >

But now I need to deploy the code to the new environment using ant script. So in this case, is there connection details we need to mention in the .wsdl file.
And I'm curious to know how B2B adapter uses 810 definition of the new environment.

    Help, please.

    Thank you
    Veer

    Veer,

At the level of the SOA, all environment variables can be substituted at deployment time by using configuration plan. You must have a plan of config for each CA. To learn more about the configuration plan, please visit-

the section 'customize your app for the environment target before the deployment of 43.6' to -.

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E28280_01/dev.1111/e10224/sca_lifecycle.htm#CACBGDCG

So in this case, is there connection details we need to mention in the .wsdl file.

N ° nothing needs to be changed. Just make sure that B2B agreement is deployed before that the composite is deployed. SOAINFRA will be responsible for internal connection in case of tissue integration mode.

and there is no .jca file.

JCA files are created when you use JMS/AQ in B2B adapter integration mode.

And I'm curious to know how B2B adapter uses 810 definition of the new environment.

In the definition of B2B adapter Assistant records management screen, you select an option that the way B2B should use the definition. If you select 'Import scheme of B2B' then XSD is copied locally to the composite (in xsd file composite) and is also used during execution. If you select 'Refer to the schema in the repository B2B' SOA refers to the XSD which is loaded in MDS instead of create a local copy. Rest of the options are self-explanatory. You can consult the section "2.5.1 how use B2B connection of components in a Composite SOA Application" to.

  • Deploy the new virtual machine with version 7 on vSphere HW 5

    Hello

Is there a parameter / method of new virtual machines with the 7 deplpy (and NOT HW version 8) hardware on a vSphere host version 5?

We currently have a mixed cluster (vSphere 4.0 U2 & 5.0 U1 Hosts) with activated automatic DRS.

NB.  I found that 1.5 vCloud Director boasts a version of VM HW (v7 or v8) framework that is useful for mixed clusters. I hope that vSphere itself may have a similar setting.

Yes, it is certainly possible. Simply select "Custom" in the "New VM" Wizard and you will be able to decide which version HW (7 or 8) you want to use for this virtual machine.

  • Understand the areas of work, deployment of new applications and upgrades

    Hi all

I I learn Oracle Apex and finished some OBEs thereon. I'm very excited about the platform and love. But a lot of questions come to mind.

As I understand it, a workspace, is a 'place' to develop applications and release and from this workspace, I can export an application to deploy on another server, but I don't see any option on what tables must be exported.

In a space of work/scheme, can I have more than one app, and I don't see where you define the tables that belong to each application.

I see no more, how upgrade works. If I have deployed an application on a client, and I need to upgrade, update the database, without loss of data is automatically?

Another thing I don't have very good, understad is about installing the runtime.

    More security-> http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=4600:42:0:NO Page:, I can read:
For test and production instances, Oracle Application Express supports the ability to install only one version of the runtime. This minimises the installed footprint and privileges. It also improves your application consistency because in a Runspace developers cannot inadvertently updated any source application.

I understand, thath this means I can't change an application deployed, but can I update?

    Kind regards.

Paintings and objects from database that must be treated separately from the application. If you look at the SQL workshop in the generator of the Apex, there are tools to export database object.

In a space of work/scheme, can I have more than one app, and I don't see where you define the tables that belong to each application.

You can have one or more schemas by workspace. And an application can use no matter what patterns are available in the workspace or whether the workspace schema has been granted through the grants database diagrams.

I see no more, how upgrade works. If I have deployed an application on a client, and I need to upgrade, update the database, without loss of data is automatically?

Export application can be completely (most of the time) independent of the data and database objects. If you change the structure of your database objects with your upgrade of the application, then you must update the database objects so that the application can run. All features of the application depend on the Exchange database will not work.

Another thing I don't have very good, understad is about installing the runtime.

The runtime installation does basically not any changes to the application definition after installation. You must keep an independent site where you make the development or modification of your application. Deploying a runtime application is not reversible, which means that you can change it to an editable application once you have set it as run-time only.

  • How to deploy the new app in 70 new iPad

We have created an app DPS that my client wants to install locally on 70 new iPads. Can someone tell me how this can be done. We have the DPS Enterprise license and license of the company Apple.

We would prefer not to have to go through every iPad and install via their UDIDs. OS he a better method may publish with private somehow link?

    Cheers, Tony

A company-signed application does not need to enumerate the UDIDs for devices, it's one of the benefits of the certificates of the company. For more information on the process, take a look at the article on:

    http://www.Adobe.com/devnet/digitalpublishingsuite/articles/distributing-Enterprise-iOS-VI Ewer - apps.html

-He describes the process and includes sample files to see how to set up a system to distribute an iOS for corporate clients DPS application. The end result is that a user can enter a URL in Safari on their iOS device and the application will download and install. No cable, no synchronization.
