• Switch to Design view in impossible CS4

  All of a sudden today, when I opened my project, it was in Code instead of the usual Split view. When I go to view, everything related to the id of the Design view that is grayed out. And when I click on 'Switch views', I get:

• CS3 Design view blank when & lt; body & gt; in the editable area

  Anyone run into this? There seems to be a bug, maybe new in DW CS3 (9.0 build 3481)
  When a < body > tag is put into an editable region, DW does not recognize the editable regions and the Design view is empty. When you save this model, an error 'this model doesn't have any editable regions... ". "However, Validation of the codes and check Template syntax will return no errors. Moving the body tag out of the combo box corrects the problem. Here is an example of model:

  Thanks for the reply. Sorta, I suspected that was the case, but it would be nice if this restriction has been documented somewhere - in particular validation don't complain of controls

  I am aware of the editable tag attributes option, but am working with a site developed by a third party. I was hoping not to have to rework it.

• When the design view in Dreamweaver CC is magnified, what method is used for the panorama of the image to see more of the top left corner?

  I can't figure out how to move the image enlarged in Design view of Dreamweaver CC.

  What strikes me as being virtually useless, when it seems to view all point design is so I can click on an item and move it without entering the mode Code.

  You don't clearly understand how to work with Dreamweaver.  DW is not a click & drag, the WYSIWYG application.  The Design view is, at best, an approximation of what can expect to see in some older browsers.   Ideally, you should be working with Code view or split with Live View and editing in the code pane.

  APDivs or layers have been deprecated in DW CC because they aren't a good way to layout of web pages.  If you are still using this approach, it would certainly explain well many of the problems you encounter.   Best advice, start with a setting shaped pre-built CSS.   File > new > Blank Page > HTML.  Select a CSS formatting in the Panel 3rd & hit CREATE.

  Go further, not to use positioning.  Learn to use CSS margins, padding and floats to align items if you wish.

• Design view is truncated

  I did something (I do not know what!) and somehow caused the design view to cut the page down to the Middle so I do not see the right half. How can I get that back to normal so I can see the entire page in design mode. I use DW CS4.

  It is truncated, in split mode or design mode. I stopped DW and re-opened and it is still messed up. I have toggled the Split and design views and tried to change the size of the pages. I've probably mistyped a shortcut and floated somehow the page to the left. But I don't know how to get back to normal. It's probably something stupid. I'll shut down the computer and restart to see if it makes it. I'll let you know. Otherwise, any ideas would be welcome.

  FOUND. I added a style sheet to the page and it has messed up the design view. (???) Other pages are not doing. When I deleted the style sheet, it is returned to normal. Since I have to just add a little CSS will integrate on the page and I not add any style sheet and that should be OK.

• Problem with the Code/Design view buttons

  (My bad... maybe a clearer title will help you...)

  OK, I work with DW CS4 v.10.0 Build 4117 on a platform of Win XP Pro SP3.

  When you work with files from my site, they open in Code view.  The Split and design buttons are grayed out.  When I click the page layout button, the check mark is sometimes next to the option Code, but sometimes next to Design (even if the page is clearly displayed only in Code view!).

  To view the file in Design view or split view, click the page setup button, click on the Code, click on the button layout again, click Design or split view and then it will display the page in this way file.

  It's SO frustrating!  Is this a bug in CS4?  (I scanned through the other topics and can't seem to find anything about it.)  I don't remember having this problem with CS3 and have spoken with other DW CS3 users who also say that they have never had this happen.

  What can I do?

  Hi Susan,.

  I might have a solution for this one. I had the same problem. It would be 'reliable' whenever I would create a new PHP file.

  "File" > "New" > "PHP" > Layout 'None' > 'Create' - no buttons 'Split' or 'Design' (grey)

  In 'preferences' under 'File Types/errors', there is a section "open in code view".

  I removed the. The extension PHP from here, tried again and it worked!

  Maybe it will work for you.

  I can see all the text and code in the Code or split windows, but in Design view, I see only (about) half upper text and also the upper couple of my nav buttons. Can't work what to look for in aid and the couple of things that I did was not full support! I'll have to work in Code view - limit a bit to an old man...
  Can anyone help me with what is probably something simple but stupid, I did (it'll be to do with my layers, I know)...?

  I said nothing about the CS3 - and for more information - the problem with your
  code is still apparent in CS3 and CS4 beta. It is not surprising - in
  MX2004 - the problem is not displayed.
  In general, each new version of Dw is more strict with the code there
  predecessor, which I think is a good thing.

  DW 8 is very good and will do the job. I wouldn't for a minute
  the upgrade at this time. By releasing DW CS4 - perhaps the time of
  Download the track to see if it offers benefits. Experience
  with Dw8 and the course will not be wasted.

  It must be because of the math in the sizes of your AP - can I suggest that
  out you on a large sheet of graph paper - this is what I would
  do. But I don't use AP do layout of basic site - for the reason
  everyone here mentions frequently. So I suggest others may be able to
  spot the problem much more quickly.

  Just upgraded to Windows 8.

  QNX Momentics was working fine before this, but now I can't show my QML files in Design view.

  Part of the reason why I upgraded to Burrito (or rather attempted, as I have always failed, see http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Tablet-OS-SDK-for-Adobe-AIR/Error-Username-or-password-is-inv...), it's that I (thought?) I read somewhere on the new 'Design view' in Burrito with his ability to design screens in WYSIWYG style.

  However, now that I've started Burrito, I don't see "Design Mode" button (for example as seen in the first screenshot of http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flex/articles/whatsnew_flashbuilder_burrito.html)

  Is it possible to activate it?

  Or (more likely), I'm wrong and the Design mode is not available for 'Mobile Action Script projects'? (and only if I would use this thing .mxml)?

  (If the latter is true, what is the big advantage of Burrito then? Design thinking view was one of the main arguments...)

  Yes you have reason to believe that you must create a Mobile Flex project and not a project of Mobile of ActionScript in order to see the "creation mode". This will result in you coding via structure Flex (MXML) and not the old plain AS3 way. the difference between the two programs comes from what I've seen, he's the Hero SDK. I don't think it is available for flash builder 4.0.1. Hero SDK brings fixes and optimization for the older SDK that makes it more usable on mobile / devices touch enabled (from what I read). I also noticed that export and tests on the playbook Simulator are much easier and faster on Burrito compared to the Flash Builder 4.0.1.

  That being said, I am currently using Flash Builder Burrito and code in pure ActionScript. For me it's easier, and I like the challenge of working without a WYSIWYG editor. There are a pros and cons of these two structures, but in the end its what is easier for you.

• Why I see in Design view is different from that in preview mode

  I read a few posts about the formatting issues, but I found the exact answer. It's annoying that I create text boxes with images that I place, but what I see in the design, it's not what I see in the preview. In Design view, all the air very well, but in the preview, the pictures are not located where I placed the. The text boxes are sometimes superimposed, etc.. I have to move photos or text boxes in different places in the design, to "accommodate" preview mode. Consolidation of all the elements of a page seems to work a little better, but still, some elements will be properly located. Is there a trick to freeze the page because it is in the design and read properly in the preview? Thank you.

  The preview mode is a more precise description of how your page will look like in a browser. Have you tried the preview of your Web site in a browser to see what it looks like?

  You can make settings on your creation mode to make sure it appears correctly in the preview.

• Dream Weaver cc Design view problems why is completely different design of the live display view

  Why Why oh why oh why is the cc Design view completely different from live view - live mode view is good, but virtually nothing is editable. How the hell can Adobe market a web as wysiwyg design tool when design mode is terrible. I saw old messages regarding this versions in 2014 and 2015.

  I'm not completely illiterate code but I would change the drawings etc. without digging deeper into the code. It's 2016 I stopped using the ages of tables there are available to my creations, but it seems that all cram into a table is the only way to get a half-decent idea of what is happening in design mode. I use a Mac which probably didn't help, but in the interest of the essential may be easier not more difficult.

  If it is true that Dreamweaver is really only for kernel developers hard, they should say so and start promoting Muse or similar for people who don't want to spend hours crafting code in all the different possible options such java php etc to produce a well-designed functional Web site.

  Design view has always been horrible to show you the design of the site, but some things worse.

  It does not run scripts of any type and more advanced css is completely invisible to the it. Code errors will also break Design mode almost instantly. Make sure you're validating your code under file > validate > validate the current document (W3C) or going directly to the validator online at http://validateo.w3.org/nu. Pay close attention to any structural errors listed are those that make the Design view go nuts.

  For what it's worth, DW is not really a wysiwyg program in the strictest sense of the acronym, regardless of how many guys at Adobe marketing wanted to believe this claim. DW requires a solid knowledge of html, css and javascript to get the best out there for static sites. These days, we use floats CSS, margin, padding and display properties to build our page layouts. While the program comes with base layouts, you can click to start with, do not understand the desire of "why it works" quickly cause massive frustration levels.

  If you really don't want you your hands dirty with the code, or simply do not have the time to become familiar with the basics of html and css, Adobe Muse would probably be a better option for you.

• View of code / Design view selections do not match?

  I have a problem with a newly installed version of DW CC2015. I've used DW for several years and always find what I selected in Code view or Design, mirror each other. I am now finding any element tag or div I select outside Code view (i.e. in the DOM Panel, Design view etc) is not be mapped in mode Code and the selection is inconsistent (something else is highlighted). I tested with a basic html in DW model that comes with the application and the results of the example are shown below.

  -In the second I chose 'Customers' nav view creation - and the resulting code selection is part of the net asset value of 'Contact' below.

  I have observed that a code in the html page broken will if auto correct when we view it in Design view. How do I disable this feature?

  My requirement is that I need to have excerpts as

  First single: < div id = "extract" >... Text has a value of 1 <! - opening first extracted div - >

  Second excerpt: text is set to 2 < / div > <! - div in the second extract from closing - >

  Current problem is when I save the first and the second extracted and after the consultation in the 'Design', a closing div (< div >) got automatically created in the first extract and open div (< div >) was created in the second excerpt.

  Is it possible to disable this feature of HR?

  I have that reason to read this as simply an excerpt in a snippet? If this isn't something, I tried and I doubt it's possible. You cannot turn off AutoCorrect, but you can avoid it by using a rather text editor. However, you lose a lot of the features of RoboHelp.

  This problem has been fixed in the latest update to animate CC.

  You can upgrade to animate CC 15.1.0.1.13 creative use of cloud App or via the Help menu > updates.
