Designer of the app connectivity DB in SQL Server 2008 issues

I have a new created databasse called 'PSDMO1' (cloned from existing 'Demo'). This database is on PT 8.51.08. In the same machine, I am able to connect to the database 'Demo' successfully. I am trying to connect to this database using the App Designer. But it does not work.

I have studied and found that the login to the people itself fails (App Designer Trace below). I worked with the DBA here and concluded that, "the connection is does NOT in the database". So, it looks like problem ODBC.

('' People '' subsidies are already provided).

However ODBC will display correct system DSN and also - Test connection is successful.

It seems that Peoplesoft is unable to speak and ODBC database.

If you are on a 64-bit computer, it could be the fact that you need to run the 32-bit ODBC admin and set up your connection it as PeopleTools (App Designer) is a 32-bit application?

  • Failed to connect to the user when it connects to SQL Server 2008 R2 gateway

    Hi - This is my first post!

    I have problems to connect to a SQL Server 2008 R2 to Oracle database 11 g R2 database, use the product of the gateway.

    Previously, he has worked, but we moved the database SQL 2005 to 2008 (R2).

    We receive this error while trying to query through the link (Select * FROM DUAL@ADSRD)

    ORA-01017: name of user and password invalid. connection refused

    [Oracle] [ODBC SQL Server driver] [SQL Server] Failed to connect to the user 'SQLUSER '. {NativeErr 28000, = 18456} [Oracle] [ODBC SQL Server driver] Invalid connection string attribute {01 S 00}

    ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines of ADSRD

    01017 00000 - "invalid username/password; connection refused '.

    * Cause:

    * Action:

    Error on line: 1 column: 35

    The DG4MSQL configuration is here:

    HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = //SSU_PRD_APP/IntegrationStagingDb [BSYS-sql2]

    HS_FDS_TRACE_LEVEL = OFF

    HD_TRANSACTION_MODEL = READ_ONLY

    #HS_FDS_DELAYED_OPEN = FALSE

    HS_FDS_FETCH_ROWS = 100

    HS_OPEN_CURSORS = 50

    The database is hosted in its own instance on the sql2-BSYS Server

    Then... on the SQL Server event logs returns this:

    Failed to connect to the user 'SQLUSER '. Reason: Failed to try to connect using SQL authentication. Server is configured for Windows authentication only. [CLIENT: 192.168.10.179]

    However, the SQL Instance IS configured to enable mixed mode authentication.

    I can't work on what I missed, and I can confirm if I'm actually to a compatibility issue between the gateway and the version of SQL server, that we are now trying to connect.

    Help please!

    Is the user name in your SQL Server database in the capital, mixed mode letters or small letters?

    Currently, you have created a database link that tries to authenticate on the server SQL using SQLUSER in capital letters. If you use mixed or small letters, so be sure to write the user name (and password) as it is in the create database link statement and surround it with double quotes.

    If you have created the link of database correctly, try an ODBC connection for example from your client and add the user name and password. Does it work?

  • Creation of the DSN that is needed to connect the 5.1 vCenter to SQL Server

    I'm looking for a simple process, step by step create the DSN that is needed to connect the vCenter Server 5.1 to an already configured SQL database.

    It must be simple, still usable by a person who is not a database administrator.  He should assume no knowledge of database.

    It should be usable on 64 - bit Windows 2008 Server R2 OS when connecting to a SQL Server 2008 R2 database.

    It must include ALL the options I have to configure when configuring the DSN, so that later I can run vCenter Server 5.1 installation and Breeze the by.

    Screenshots would be too great, but if you have a step by step, that would be great.  Some thing that you can go totally illiterate crew of database and they can cross step by step.  Docs from VMware do not give enough details and do not point to a good reference.

    Hello

    Click on Control Panel > administrative tools > Data Sources (ODBC).

    Open ODBC connection, select the system DSN tab, and then click Add

    Select SQL native client, click on finish

    He will ask DSN name, enter the name you want for VC DSN.

    Then enter the address database of VC.

    Then it will ask for authentication, select which option of your choice, as based on windows or SQL based authentication.

    Then click Next and select the correct database that has been created for VC in drop-down option

    Finishing and test the connection.

    I am not able to connect to my SQL Server 2008 since the SQL Developer Data Modeler. Although I jtds - 1.2.jar my machine and I can connect SQL server through the SQL Developer, but still I am not able to connect through the Data Modeler. I need to rethink and to generate the data model for some existing patterns.

    File Data-> shape-> import-> data dictionary-> add-> new JDBC, ODBC Bridge connection-> other third-party driver

    now when I give driver and the JDBC URL, it throws an error message indicating that the driver is not found.

    Please let me know what I can do to fix this problem, any help would be appreciated.

    I would try 1 to connect to the db of sqldeveloper (by jtds - uninvolved to ODBC) and see if you can browse your sql db queries and question in a worksheet. Export this connection to xml format, and then import that Modeler.

    Just, I solved the problem I had.

    It turns out, there, there were two questions... first concealing the second.

    SQL Web browser has not been activated.  solution: in properties SQL server configuration manager, transformed the startup to automatic mode and activated the service.

    Microsoft Visual Studio project property targetdatasourcefolder had a server name that precedes the name of the folder. Removed the name of the server.  This works.

    Everything unfolds right now.

  • Cannot create the user in SQL Server 2008 physical model

    When I'm on the right, click relationship models-> Relational_1-> physical models-> SQL Server 2008-> database-> users, 'New' (which is the only option) is greyed out and I can not add users.  In versions 4.0 EA, I was able to create users.  This feature has been removed from SQL Server?  I work in a mixed shop and we chose SDDM because it could support Oracle and Microsoft. And I am now ready to migrate everything from Oracle Designer to SDDM and it seems that some of the featrures of SQL Server have been removed.

    Hi Marcus,

    any object login - tree of the physical model of SQL Server consists of:

    -Databases

    - Connections

    -Tables

    -Views

    - ...

    If you need to create a connection in the connections series and in its dialog box you will find related tab.
