  Follow these steps to automatically print double-sided in Word print jobs:

  In the file being used to print click the file menu and select print.
  NOTE: The print window might be minimized. Press show details to show all available print option.

  Click Copy Pages & drop doen and select layout.

  Set the duplex option as the binding edge (Portrait) Long or short edge (landscape) bond.

  You can save the settings for later use by clicking preset > save current settings as preset. By default, a used preset will remain until another preset will be used.

  Have used the printer for over a year without problem.  I am running windows 8.1 with a Wi - Fi connection. Recently, I can't print a pdf file. Since my computer although I can print a word document.  First noticed the problem when he began to print a pdf file and it stopped with a partial copy of the 1st page of the 23.  Now it won't print a pdf file.  When I try to print a PDF the sidebar opens and says the printer is offline.   My wife's mac computer has no problem printing the pdf file. or anything else.  Tried 'print and scan tool doctor' and did not help.  Followed a thread to clear print spooler and this file is empty.  After the reboot, the problem is still there.  Also just realized that I can't print a jpg img. file.  Any help would be appreciated.

  At a first cancel all pending job from printer under devices and printers. Then restart the PC / laptop try toprint the JPG image file. Once, remember if you print from the PDF, please do not print document of big file size, otherwise do same problem.

  If you use wifi printing it will document slowly sends to the print queue of the printer from the PC/laptop.

  I suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the printer and see if that makes a difference.

  I have a HP Deskjet 3050 printer.  When I try to print colored ephemera that I bought and downloaded from Etsy, the color is off and the image lost its detail.  The downloaded images are in JPEG format.  When I consult the in file folder they are in, they look beautiful, but when I print, they are terrible and useless.  I installed new color and black cartridges and tried the digital paper.  Nothing helps.  Any suggestions?

• DeskJet 5500 prints color cartridge 57 but your gray of the 58 photo color cartridge

  My deskjet 5550 is supposed to print color photo with the 58 cartridge inserted into the cartridge slot 2. It has suddenly stopped making and now print only the dull grey tone. I replaced the cartridge with a new one and got the same result. Print the same file using the 57 cartridge to slot 1 still gives the color. Replacing the driver produces no change. I'm on a Mac and I'm printing from iPhoto. Having checked that no filter is in use. Any ideas, what could be wrong and how to fix it?  Thank you.

  The cartrdiges 57 and 58 are necessary all to print the photo. The 57 a Cyan, Magenta and yellow. The 58A Photo Black, Light Magenta and Light Cyan. The printer can print photos with the 57 by itself, but the 58 by itself will not be able to print grayscale because there no yellow. In photo printing normal both cartridges are used together, the 57 provides vivid colors and the 58 provides subtle shades and black areas. When you print on plain paper 56 cartridge replaces the 58. The 56 was ink black pigment which is good for text but not used on photographic support. Regards, Bob Headrick, MS MVP printing and imaging

  I'm sorry to hear that you had trouble getting a booklet with Word 2013 impression, but I'm glad that you were able to find a work around with Publisher 2010.

• New windows have a command to print a Word Document saved

  I downloaded Windows 7 on my XP Home Edition and now when I set up a document saved in WORD, there is no command field to 'print '.  I have a new Dell Wireless and a wired HP printer and I can not understand how to make the default printer for this old computer the HP.  In contrast to the old WORD, there is a way now just to hit 'Print' and have a copy made.  What is with that?  Why a new edition of everything that would make more difficult, or even impossible to use.  Come to think, there is no command for anything other useful, like "attach."

  Lately, whenever I have print anything it is printing too big - margins are off page. I did the align printer and can't find anything in the settings of the printer for this affect where it prints the correct size - it is not set in landscape mode and is set to portrait, so I do not understand why it feels like landscape.   Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

  Most of the time, the size of the police - margins, the scale - and 'together General' that you print the page is managed in the application you are using at the time that you configure the print job.

  In most browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer), publishers of documents (Word, free) and PDF (Adobe Reader and Foxit) readers, this "setup" is run a program or a called subroutine print preview.

  You (in other words, the print job) can get into trouble when the scale of the Page does not match the study - maybe the margins are not (and must be) set "Fit to Page".

  Font sizes may be too small - or large - for similar reasons, but it can become a little more complicated than that.

  It is also true that certain documents and Web Pages are best printed in landscape mode in Portrait - and it is not always clear in glancing at the Page that is best.

  After buying a new router, printer does not work. Is not connected to the Internet. I followed the instructions on how to connect but nothing I did helped. Wireless test results show the printer are currently configured with an automatic IP address, I don't know why or how this happened.   HI - had this problem so that I can remember! Occasionally I get a print - document I managed 2 days ago, but it went to print some word documents today and get the message "word cannot print, no printer is installed.

  Yet, when I go into "devices and printers" the printer is there - with a great big green tick - the laptop too 'bongs' when I plug the USB lead - which means that the printer was found.

  Also, I can't read that information on your operating system, model laptop, printer, etc. and these information are necessary.
