  On my Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, SP1 system, automatic reorganization and snap to grid are unchecked.  And I don't have problems with icons on a restart.  I have problems when I access my system in my home using a VPN and the DRC.

  Sometimes when I connect, I find that most of my desktop shortcut icons have disappeared and the few remaining ones are reorganized.  It happens every time and I did not understand a common denominator as to when it occurs.

  I copied all my desktop shortcuts to a folder on a different drive if I can put them all after they disappear, but when I copy and paste them on the desktop, they do not return to the same places they were in front.  Instead, they are lined up on the grid starting at the top left and go down and creating more columns until all the icons were pasted.

  So, I have to manually, drag and drop them where I want them to be.

  How can lock the desktop icons?  I agree with the donor who asked a parameter for "don't mess with my desktop computer EVER.

• How to get a reservation in DHCP address when using NAT networking?

  I am looking for a solution on how to make a reservation in DHCP for a VM for Linux Mint13 when using NAT networking.

  It would make life so much easier if I could be sure that this machine has a fixed IP address, I might add in the host to host files and thus get name resolution working for her.

  I use the virtual linux machine mainly to test a Web site before going live and I used the bridged network and listed my DLINK router DHCP reservation.

  But it won't work if I move the laptop Win7 to another place, so I really need NAT and a fixed address.

  I found this discussion, which deals with the same issue so I followed the solution and this added to the end of vmnetdhcp.conf:

  (with comments, stop and WorkStation7 closed altogether).

  But the result after starting it all this is still once the client always reports its address as 192.168.80.157, which is the old address it before my edit.

  ·         You have this problem when you connect a single monitor?

  ·         How you set up your monitors multiple, are set to show the icons of screen sharing?

  ·         Have you tried to disable auto arrange on the computer?

  Try to turn off the Auto arrange feature and check if it works very well.

  Do right click on desktop-> organize arrange icons by-> auto-> uncheck the option.

  I suggest you goto, Ralink Technology site and download the latest version of network print driver. Even if you have not made it clear if that is indeed the network card or wireless adapter. Anyway I'll make sure update you both of them. I would also do that windows has all the latest updates.

  "Code 10" error is generated in the Device Manager in one of the following situations:

  -Device Manager cannot start the device.
  -One of the pilots who needs the unit does not start.
  -Device Manager has sufficient information to recognize the error that spread upwards by the device driver.

  Note: in this case, the "Code 10" error can be a very generic message indicating some sort of unspecified driver or device problem.

  I suggest you run this Microsoft fixit and check if it helps.

  I suggest you to run the sfc/scan that will scan the corrupted system files change.

  The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions. When the analysis is complete, the System File Checker tool indicates whether integrity violations were found. If integrity violations are detected, the System File Checker tool difficulty integrity violations.

  Follow these steps to run sfc/scan.

  a. press the Windows key + X and click/click on (Admin) command prompt.

  b b.. in the elevated command prompt, type sfc/scannow , and then press enter.

  NOTE: It can take some time to finish the race.

  I also suggest you to run the tool for indexing and search and check.

  Follow these steps to run the utility of search and indexing.

  a. press the Windows key + W and type Troubleshooting.

  b. Select Troubleshooting.

  c. Select show all in the upper left corner.

  d. run resolution of the problems of search and indexing.

   

  You can also change the settings for the index and check.

  a. press the Windows key + W and type index.

  b. click on indexing options , and then select the Edit button.

  c. check if the users has been selected.

  Looks like there are corruptions of important system files. Logs show a number of .dll file missing or corrupt.

  Reset the default Windows Update components.

  Also reset Windows Update components repair several DLLs and other important system files. Reset Windows update ventilation includes reset services required for updates Windows and Winsock, reset the proxy connection, if any, the queue of BITS of compensation and installing the latest Windows Update Agent.

  Run the troubleshooter automated in the link below to reset Windows update default components, if the troubleshooter does not solve the problem please follow the manual steps in the article below to reset Windows Update components manually.
