  • After the removal of viruses, I have no internet access. Only "absorbing IP" or "renewal IP", nothing els.

I have windows XP, I had to remove a virus from the Dell XPS. After that, I can't connect to the internet. Either with a wireless connection to the router or a straight cable to the router. All I have is that I can't renew or obtain an IP address. I ran WinsockXP, LSPfix, nothing. I fixed my HOSTS file.

    Nothing.

    Help!

This is not unusual.  Your best bet, in my opiniojn, is to backup all your data, and then reinstall Windows properly.

Each of the variations of the sirefef are extremely wicked him force more often you to reinstall Windows. The reason is that changes made to the file system is usually bad. I'll be happy to try to help you to see if we can get the system to its original state by removing the malware. Unfortunately, the problem is that the file system become corrupt you remove malware. This can often leave you with a computer that won't start plu.

I would like first of all for you to get all your personal data off your computer. You have an external hard drive, cd/dvd disc or a disc thumb/flash that you can put your personal data for backup? In the affirmative, please download the data.

Finally, I would like to know how you want to move forward. As stated, I can help to see if we can remove malware or I can help you format the drive and reinstall Windows. Of course, this assumes you have a Windows disc or another recovery option.

It makes more sense. How to reset the Windows Update components?

Yet, as indicated in The ball , the search results links do not work. I also used several browsers and DuckDuckGo. Maybe it's because the Windows Update Agent was changed some time ago and the article is no longer valid.

EDIT: If the OP is also struggling to access the link I suggest using repair Windows updates available from tweaking.com. I suggest also using the Registry backup of the same author before hand.

It might be possible that those files had been corrupted by virus.

Probably what you see is a fake windows alert activation. Please read the article on the link below to see if it applies to you.

Hi, I have AVG 2011 Free Edition and when I had a virus, AVG it is removed from the quarantine. He then told me to restart the computer to finish. In addition, when I try to open a program for example Firefox, it tells me to choose a program to open the file. It's really annoying and it won't let me choose a default program to open a specific file. Thank you all for the help!

  • Windows Firewall service does not start after the removal of Virus

    Hello

I believe that my son's computer has been infected with the Trojan.Agent.Ed virus.  I managed to remove it (from different folders in AppData), but a few vestiges remain of course.  The windows firewall service does not start - it throws an exception to access denied on startup and when I try to start the service manually.
I tried to run the Sysinternals Process Monitor to display all events ACCESS DENIED and checked the permissions on the key to registry MpsSvc in HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\services and compared to a corresponding Windows 7 machine.  I've even exported the key MpsSvc and sous-branches of the laptop in good health and tried to import into a failure, but the import does not seem to occur, even if it gives a message "imported".
I also tried the troubleshooting of Windows Firewall that confusedly says:
"Windows could not start the Windows Firewall... Not fixed
"Set permissions for the registry keys involved"... succeeded
"Windows Firewall service is not started. Not fixed
    "Starting the Firewall Service"... succeeded
Any ideas would be most appreciated.
    Thank you.

It seems that I solved the problem by running this:

  • XP Pro shortcuts do not work after the removal of virus

had a virus (XP Internet Security 2011), cleaned and ran cc cleaner - now the shortcuts don't work unless I right click to uncheck the option «protect data...» "under the currently logged-on user account, or choose 'run as administrator '.

Also if I open Control Panel I can not open all programs-ex firewall windows etc.

I saved the front register CC Cleaner cleaned but restore it makes no difference. Try and find the XP Media and attempt a repair. All this before and know a correction that could save me a lot of time?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi John,.

You can then create a new profile for the user by the listed method: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/279783

and copy the data using the index method: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151

When you sign in as an administrator, you can rename your existing profile

    C:\Document and settings\

Rename as desired. Now restart your pc and you connect with your normal login account.

It will recreate a user profile with the same identifier. Now refer http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811151 and copy data from the renamed account of this new profile, would be easy.

    I hope this helps.

  • HP Officejet 6500 E710: How to create desktop icon to launch the Scanner dialog box?

I would like to create a desktop icon to launch the Scanner dialog box. I'm not a fan of the approach to Tile Windows.

Under Windows, 8.1, there was a desktop icon which allow me to connect to my Officejet 6500 unit and allow the scan to computer option. Who disappeared with the upgrade of Windows 10.

I ran the print and Scan doctor and it solved the problems. When I went to test scanning, it arises from the familiar dialog box where I could choose different settings.

It worked perfectly. But after having closed the doctor, I could not find any place to launch the new dialogue box, outside the doctor.

I downloaded and installed the scanning HP and Capture app. It works very well, but I rather not leaving office to launch it, or use it enough to justify the taskbar setting.

Is it possible to create a desktop icon for the application of scanning and Capture

    or

is there a way to create an icon to launch the dialog box scan that print and Scan Doctor uses?

    I prefer this one.

    Hello

Thank you for using the HP Forums.

Is there a way to create the shortcut to scan on your desktop. Try the following steps:

    1. open a file Explorer

    2 C: > Program Files (x 86)

    3 program Files (x 86) > HP

    4 HP > HP Officejet 6500

    5 HP Officejet 6500 > Bin

    6 bin > Scanner HP

    7. right click on the analysis of HP and "create shortcut".

You'll get a prompt that "Windows cannot create a shortcut here.  Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead?    Select "Yes".

    Hope that helps!

  • Windows 7 desktop icons move after reboot

    Hello world!

This is the first time in my life (and I am 41) ask your question like this, windows product but I am already desperate with this annoying icon problem, and I consider myself an advanced PC user.

I like to organize my desktop icons (and I have a lot) in my own way everywhere in the desktop for my comfort and until a few days ago they still reappeard on the same place where I put them after the restart or shutdown.

A few days ago, I bought a new TV (LG LCD 80 cm) with a HDMI input and connect with my Nvidia GeForce 9400GT via a graphics card HDMI 10 m long hi-speed and turn on my PC. During the time of startup, I chose Windows 7 (either by the way, I have 3 OS-es on a HARD drive on separate partitions 3: WinXPpro Win7pro 64 bit, Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit) and when the loggin screen should appeard there was only white screen on my primary monitor, ACER A221HQ (22 "), connected by VGA cable. I couldn't even logg in Windows until it hits me, I better turn on the TV as well and BINGO, my loggin screen was on TV and not on my screen. Then I try to set my screen as main screen to be invited to have the obsolete Nvidia graphics card driver and I need to download the latest version. Is not not lazy i made cela, open the Nvidia Control Panel and set both views to clone fashion but the TV is to be marked as 1 (primary) and 2 (secondary) monitor and there is no option to manually set monitor as display a (primary).

After that whenever I boot windows 7, that the desktop icons move to the left side of the screen little matter what I do in the menu desktop options.

I guess this happens because windows now think my TV is the main display, not the monitor and send it so the Office on television to see that is turned off and then sends it to the screen, but with desktop icons rearranged for a stupid reason because I put resolutions on both screens to their native 1920 x 1080 resolution / 32 bit color / 60 Hz.

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem? I tried to install this 3rd party software to save the position of the desktop icon, but it didn't work, I uninstall.

Also this problem appears only on Windows 7, Windows XP have no problem at all, nor Ubuntu 11.04.

    Thanx.

(Sorry for the grammatical errors, but English is not my native language)

I'm sure you're right about the why behind it all, and I don't have an immediate solution.  However, I recommend a program of a company that has done a lot to work with and licensed a lot of Microsoft software.  It's an arrangement program called desktop icon by StarDock fences.  It might suit your needs.
