The desktop icons disappeared after installing updates
Original title: almost all of the icons that I had on my desktop disappeared following updates of today 5/11. There were 19 updates so I don't know which ones to uninstall. What should I do?
Using IE9.
Hi DECantrell,
Because the problem started after installing Windows updates, you will need to perform a system restore before the updates were installed
You can try a system restore to a restore point before the updates were installed.
Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.
To run the system restore, you can consult the following link:

The desktop icons move after reboot
original title: the desktop icons
I have Windows 7 and when I manually move some icons on the left side of the screen to the right of the screen... they stay there. I entered the office properties and click on the appropriate buttons. Everything's fine until I restart the computer. The strange thing is that only a couple of icons that were positioned on the right side are now on the left side. I and then pull them to the right and everything is OK until the next reboot and we start over again. What I am doing wrong?
Thank you
Tom
Hi tom sk,.
Thank you for using Microsoft Windows forum.
Check if "Auto Arrange icons" is enabled.
If so, uncheck it and move icons, restart the computer and check.
Your Antivirus software could be parasitic. Try temporarily disable you security software and check.
If the problem persists, install a third-party program in windows that govern funds layout and positions for your that you can restore it later.

The update of Microsoft Windows KB3134214 file is suspended and will not be, nor finish the rest downloads to install. I downloaded the updated individual security file. I'll wait to install pending a possible resolution here. If anyone has experienced this problem and has a resolution, I would be grateful to receive information and repair.
Hi Nathalie,.
Thanks for the reply and the link to the article. I appreciate it. While I was not having trouble to download updates, it was one of the update of the files froze during installation. I had gel resulting set before your answer.
I'm not sure what I did to fix it, but the installed annoying file itself. Here are the steps I took to learn that annoying file has been installed:
"I restarted my computer.
"then stop it showed that he was trying to install the file again
"I hit the reset button on my machine.
"My machine is restarted, I received the message that my machine was not correctly stop and choose Safe mode or start normally.
"I chose boot normally.
"Somewhere during the start-up, something installed or flashed a message
"My system automatically restarted by itself.
"On my screen, my computer displays a message saying it was set up my system.
'My computer restarted again
"Back to my login screen, I had a repeat of the previous message from my computer's configuration.
"After that over, I arrived at my office
"I've manually run Windows Update
"After Windows Update, I checked the files available, disabled the original file in question and click the button install.
"These files correctly installed and gave a message requesting to restart."
"I rebooted my system manually.
"Back in my office, I manually tried to install the file in question.
"It gave me a message that it was already installed.
How he installed himself is a mystery. Other than on the first attempt to update my machine, it has NEVER included in my another attempt to update. Anyway, my machine is purring along as if nothing had happened.
You can mark my question.
Thanks for your help,
Robert

Unable to show the updates available for Windows Vista
Hi, people. I have a display problem in the updates that are available for Windows Vista Ultimate Edition. What does "Select the updates to install" window does not display an important 33 and 59 option updates that are available are displayed and I cannot uncheck those I really didn't need. I guess that it happened after I installed the Windows Update Agent 7.4.7600.226 (before I had a update of c. 7.2.6001.788). How can I make function?
