Desktop.ini will appear in all my folders after every start. Win7 Starter 32-bit.

I just bought a laptop computer 2 weeks ago and it has a 32-bit Windows 7 with her OS. Everything was going well until I downloaded 83 updates of Windows and download software Adobe CS5 top on Adobe.com.

My question was:

  • After you download updates and premium software, I noticed that there are 2 or moredesktop.inifile in almost all of my files. Whenever I delete it it comes back everytime I turn on my laptop.
  • Other than a lot of my files were lock and I get access denied error! Although I am the administrator and I have all access.
  • There are files with an arrow as he shows as a shortcut, I do not have these records before.
  • I must look in desktop.ini or other files cause this?
  • I have also 3 removable flashdrives inserted on what desktop.ini & Autorun.ini I scanned those and fix w32.heular, w32SillyDC & Jargon .VB I don't know if it has a connection with my question, but which seems to be similar.

Note: I have a Norton on my PC and I have a fullsytem scanner, it finds 3 cookies and has already been resolved.

I've read a few of the ways to solve it online but I wanted to make sure I pick the right one.

Ok thank you!

    Hello

Desktop.ini is a system file that addresses common issues such as downloads, Documents, photos and music etc. When a change is made in these files, Desktop.ini is updated.

I would suggest trying the following steps and check if it helps.

    a. press on the key windows + E.

    b. click the view at the top of the screen.

    c. Once you click view, choose options.

    d. click change folder and search options.

    e. click on the tab display.

    f. check "Hide protected operating system files".

Hope this information helps. Answer the post with an up-to-date issue report to help you further.

  • What is a "desktop.ini" file and why it is part of every folder on my drive network hard?

I have Windows vista (64-bit).  I have a WD HDD connected to a linksys E4200 wireless router. I created a music network hard disk, and every time I transfer or rip music to this reader, this "desktop.ini" file appear also in the context of each case.  Is this OK to delete this file?

Desktop.ini is a hidden file, use of Windows operating systems to store folder settings. For example, you have created a music library so desktop.ini will contain the settings to indicate to the user interface to display the files in the folder differently from a normal folder. It will also contain parameters of the custom icons and names.

You can delete the file if you wish; point negative only consequence will be the loss of these parameters/customization.

    Hello

I am changing a course created with Captivate 5, Captivate 7 and for some reason any background image slide 35 appeared in all the slides after one and I can not remove. The most interesting thing is that when you look at the film slides, they are different (like the original) than on the workspace that contains the background image, I'm trying to delete (screenshot below).

    Ideas or comments?

    Thank you.

You can check the accordion of Timing (not visible on the screenshot)? There may be value to display for the rest of the project?

Or is the image on the master slide used for other slides?

  • How to add shortcuts that will appear on all desktop users?

I need to have the same shortcuts appear on the desktop of each user on each of the tablets I put in place. I can get the shortcut on the Start button, but not on the desktop for all users.

I suppose it could be masked with a hidden or system attribute or maybe even a part of a library of global files. The first would not be allowed to create a Records Office with the same name in the same place, of course.

When you open the file by using the method %PUBLIC%\Public of office , click in the address bar or path. This will reduce the computer > C: > users > Public > Public Office to a standard path as C:\Users\Public\Desktop. Revealing secrets?

In any case, it seems that you have found the folder for your common items on the desktop.

  • Desktop.ini drop-in DIFFICULTY PERMANENT advice of recordable media (CD/DVD/blue ray burner)

I am using windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit with the last update for now,

    (UPDATED with CORRECTION)

"desktop.ini" with detail files [.] [ShellClassInfo]... shell32.dll,-21815 will no longer appear when a writable media in the drive.

I suspect that it was abnormal and error of windows system, the first time I run the PC after reformatting and restoring, there was no such desktop.ini in the recordable media. I notice it start up after microsoft windows LIVE essential and games for windows LIVE installation.

I have made many try hard but he still see the intermittently. even with security update and latest ms windows, updates essential...

first step, type "regedit" in start search, to run the registry editor program.

then go to the Edit menu, and then search FOR "shell32.dll,-21815", in:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderDescriptions\ {...}

check with "shell32.dll,-21815" and the relative path "Microsoft\Windows\burn\burn."

    If so found,

Export the registry and save it as burner.reg. then,

only remove the "localizedname' and the 'attributes' and keep the rest.  (CORRECTION)

then FIND 'Windows\Burn\', look for this register with the address "c:\user\...\AppData\...". Microsoft\Windows\burn\burn' or

    "Microsoft\Windows\Burn\Burn", or

    "c:\user\...\AppData\...". File Microsoft\Windows\burn\temporary to burn' Rename 'c:\user\...\AppData\... '. Microsoft\Windows\burn\burn,"

"Microsoft\Windows\Burn\Temporary Burn Folder" rename it to "Microsoft\Windows\Burn\Burn".

ensure that it was 'Microsoft\Windows\burn\burn', look after pressing F3 keyboard will repeat the same task...

    Close regedit.

THEN go to the \AppData\local\microsoft\windows\burn C:\user\(your user account), delete the folder "burn" or "temporary burn folder" or both if available.

Then make a new folder name 'burn '. , restart the computer, note start the computer to the top of windows significantly faster...

FINISHING WORK, SOLVE it... the desktop.ini will never appear in the recordable media player. all normal, can burn the recordable, the file to be burn save temporary burn folder will delete automatically after burning, everything as usual, no error.

    (CORRECTION)

I suspect the the desktop.ini performed from the Games for Windows LIVE search software keep for any PC games in the hard drive and remove-able, perhaps from this, the computer run more slowly than the condition of freshly reformatted / PC Restore. It acts like a virus that prevents the monitor and look for any PC games... and record them in the registry.

After of many trials/try, I noticed the access special setting by clicking with the right button on the optical drive for assets, the menu "registration", the parameters cannot be change and save/apply.

(eject the disc after burning master, temporary folder except location,...)

I found the solution, to keep the registry than the note above for deletion to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderDescriptions\ {...},

with "shell32.dll,-21815" and the relative path with "Microsoft\Windows\burn\burn."

only remove the "localizedname' and the 'attributes' and keep the rest.

Restart the PC, everything should be normal. Settings menu for registration in the optical drive capital can be adjust and apply / save, desktop.ini nomore see in the optical drive

everything is normal. everything should be good as another user account, DIFFICULTY TOTAL and RESOLVED

  • 2 icons desktop.ini - many in danger of files?

In the past, I have deleted all Babylon, delta and search of similar files that I could find, and I thought that my pc was ok.

Yesterday, I found a 'Babylon uninstal' file in a folder temporary, I deleted it and later I got 2 desktop.ini semi of transparent icons on the desktop and a quick message saying that my boot has been changed.

I would like to inform you that the Desktop.ini is a system file that addresses common issues, such as downloads, Documents, photos and music etc. When a change is made in these files, Desktop.ini is updated.

Deleting the file will cause problems with the operating system and it is not recommended to delete the files. The default desktop.ini a hidden system file and read-only attributes assigned.

If you want to stop these messages, go to the files through Search Options, click settings and you will see the Folder Options, click on it and the view tab and scroll down until you see "Hide protected operating system files (recommended) and put a checkmark in the box."

POSTGENERATION. EXE may be a possible virus/malware.
